Cooking at its best with Johanne McInnis

Something gooey that the kids and you will enjoy. This recipe is great on the weekend when you are renting a movie and settling in for the night. Your mouth will water and you will lick the bowl clean.

BAKED BANANA SPLIT

  • 4 bananas, unpeeled
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate squares, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 4 scoops chocolate ice cream
  • whip cream and other toppings (smarties, etc..)
  1. 1. Bake bananas at 350 for 30 minutes, until the skin is black.
  2. 2. Once the banana is warm to the touch, gently slit the skin and peel back the peel off the banana. Cut lengthwise.
  3. 3. In a small bowl or plate place the banana in it. Scatter with walnuts and chocolate.
  4. 4. Then scoop chocolate and vanilla ice cream onto banana and top with whip cream
