This makes an excellent marinade for beef, chicken, pork and even fish. It's a very versatile sauce that is simple yet very tasty, especially on the bar-b-q. People will not believe that you made this from scratch and that it only takes seconds to do so.

Teriyaki marinade

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry or orange juice
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon molasses or packed brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger

    1. Mix all ingredients. Place meat in a glass dish and pour marinade over it. Let sit up to 4 hours. Bake or grill meat and discard marinade.

Makes about ½ cup of marinade
