Peter Wysote Sr.

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 26, 2012 at the age of 86, Mr. Peter Wysote Sr. of Listuguj.

He leaves to mourn his wife Helen Metallic Wysote, his daughters Gloria Wysote, Diane Metallic (Roland) and Carla Wysote all of Listuguj, his sons Dennis Wysote (Donna), Delphis Wysote, Paul Wysote and Glen Wysote all of Listuguj, his sister Rebecca Wysote of Listuguj. Also survived by his 22 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his children Peter Jr. Muriel, Marilyn and Laura, his father Peter Wysote and mother Annie Jerome.

Valerie (Babin) Savoie

On December 25, 2012, surrounded by her children and loved ones, Valerie (Babin) Savoie, wife of the late John Savoie, peacefully passed away at the Campbellton Nursing Home at the age of 85. Born in Eel River Crossing on September 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Frank Babin and Emma (Plourde) Babin.

Valerie will be sadly missed by her children Gary (Sylvie) Laval, Suzanne (Richard) Vancouver, Robert AB,, and Raymond (nancy) Atholville, her grandchildren; Yannick, Marissa, Sam, and Jack, her sisters Flora, Germaine, Alma, Donna, her brothers Edgar, Ben, Roger as well as nephews and nieces.

Besides her husband and parents, Valerie was predeceased by her sister Esther and her brothers Valmont, Ernest, Romain, Hector and Maurice.

A very special Thank You to the staff of the Campbellton Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent care given to our dear mother Valerie during her stay at the home. We would also like to thank the MS Society for all their support.

Viola Babin

Passed away at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the ageof 90, Viola Babin, Charlo. Born on October 8, 1922, daughter of the late Steven Irving Oakes and the late Mary Laura Guitard.

She is survived by her children Eileen Simon (Rolf) of Kitchener, Ont., Simone Babin (Clem) of CharloLinus Babin (Aline) of Charlo, Gerald Babin (Majella) of Charlo, Irving Babin of Brampton Ont., and Sheila Vienneau (Hector) of Dalhousie. Also left behind 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her children Robert, Cecil, Gary and Bernice Gallant.

Clair Davidson

Clair Marie Davidson of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, formerly of Campbellton passed away peacefully on January 1, 2013. Born November 28, 1922 in Petit Rocher to the late Theodore and Georgina (Pitre) Arsenault. Upon the death of her Mom, Clair (months old) was raised by Aunt Marie Ann (Pitre) and Uncle Gaorge Duguay of Robertville.

Predeceased by her husband Bill (1990); grandson Michael Payne (1972); and son-in-law Earl Doherty (1995), and several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by three daughters; Dorothy (Don) Murray, Upper Coverdale; Carol (Jim) Payne, Roverview and Margaret (Clarence) Doherty-Crowley of Warwick Settlement; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and special sister Zelda Dionne, Fredericton.

Clair was a member of St Michaels Parish and proud to be a member of St Michael's Ladies Society.

Lloyd Raymond Borden

Relatives and friends in Upsalquitch and surrounding communities were shocked and saddened by the passing away of Lloyd Raymond Borden, December 22, 2012 at the age of 73. He had been admitted to Campbellton Regional Hospital briefly and passed away while surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Upsalquitch May 3, 1939 he was the son of Bruce Borden and Lucy (McDavid). He lived in Upsalquitch all his life and for 20 years had been employed with the Provincial Department of Transportation from which he retired in 2000.

Lloyd was an active member of St. David's United Church in Upsalquitch. He was well known and respected throughout the community. He was an avid gardener and shared the bounty of his summer's harvest with any and all. He enjoyed and appreciated the peacefulness and solitude of nature especially at his camp back on the hill.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 50 years, Charlotte (Jones) and his four daughbters; Carla Weaver (Dana) of i Irishtown, Thelma of Robinsonville, Lana Marie of Fredericton and Stacey of Moncton, Lloyd was a grandfather to Christopher and Alexander Babineau of Moncton and Pierce and Caitlin Boudreau of Robinsonville. He is survived by his brothers alexander (Kelly) of Upsalquitch, Wayne (Kathy ) of Robinsonville, Aubrey (Sandra) of Kelowna and sisters Wanda Ackeral (Fred) of Glencoe, Marion of Upsalquitch, Kaltha Hoard (Lyle) of Prince George.

Lloyd was predeceased by his parents Bruce Borden and Lucy (McDavid) of Upsalquitch, brothers William and Wallace, and three infant siblings.

Connie Lavallee

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 22, 2012 at the age of 97, Mrs. Corinne Lavallee of Dalhousie.

She leaves to mourn her children Therese (late John Beckwith) from Hampton, Bernadette Valcourt (late Marcel) from Montreal, Omer Lavallee (Rose-Anna) from Dalhousie, Rita St. Onge (Andre) from Montreal, Alice Fournier (Albenie) from Dalhousie, Rose Lavallee from Dundee, Carmelle St Laurent (Luc) Edmundston, Rose Anne Savoie (Marcel) from Dundee, Louise Lavallee (Andre Bujold) from Alberta, Gerald Lavallee from Alberta, Real Lavallee(Nelly)( Toronto, Georgette Lavallee Eel River Crossing, Monique Lavallee Montreal and Rachelle Lavallee from Dalhousie. Also survived by her 56 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband Arthur Lavallee and son Roger Lavallee.

Eddie Couture

Joseph Edward Lloyd "Eddie" Couture passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 25, 2012 at the age of 86.

Eddie was predeceased by his mother Elise Vermette, his father Edouard Couture, his brothers Alfred and Ralph, and the love of his life, Hedwidge "Wassa" Carter.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter Patricia Couture and his granddaughter Tammie Roy of Alberta. Eddie is also survived by his brothers-in-law Billy Carter of Dalhousie and Michael Carter of Vancouver, his sister-in-law Winona Parent of Etobicoke numerous nieces and nephews.

Eddie was born in Charlo, on June 26, 1926 and spent his early years on the family farm. He started work at the Dalhousie paper mill in 1946, where he remained employed until his retirement in 1988. Eddie's family had moved to NB from Quebec in the early 1920's and he had fond memories of yearly trips back as a young boy. In later years he made three trips to Quebec to visit Beauport and Saint Camille, where his family had lived.

He loved history and current events. There was always a newspaper close by and he faithgully watched local and national news every night. When he finally agreed (after much persuasion) to get cable television, he enjoyed watching documentaries. He enjoyed talking about days gone by and his ability to recall names and events was impressive. Eddie was often seen about town on his daily walks to the post office and grocery store.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Dalhousie Nursing home for the comfort and care given during the past year.

In memory of Eddie, donations may be made tot he Canadian Diabetes Association.

Doris Elsliger

The death of Doris Elsliger of Jacquet River occurred at the Campbelollton Regional Hospital, December 16, 2012 at the age of 86.

Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Hickey) Guitard.

Grace Dickie Richard

The death of Grace Richard of New Mills occured at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Monday, December 24th 2012, at the age of 78. Born in Black Point, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Annie (McGarvie) Dickie.

Grace is survived by her son David (Shirley) of Clayton Ont., daughters Susan Valiquette (Dennis) of Gatineau Que., Kimberly Ann Richard of Ottawa, Karlyn Monette (Mark) of Ottawa, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard as well as her brothers David, Borden, Beverly, James and grandson Richard.
