Geraldine Margaret Laevska

With great sadness, we announce the death of Geraldine Margaret Laevska (nee Chevrier), 60, who passed away suddenly in Campbellton, New Brunswick on December 25, 2013.

Born in Montreal on September 2, 1953, "Deenie" was the beloved daughter of the late Edgar and Katherine (McKinnon) Chevrier.

After graduating as a Registered Nurse from Hotel Dieu, Bathurst, in 1973, Deenie worked in various capacities at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, the Provincial Hospital, and in private practice with her companion and husband of 38 years, Lefter Laevski, MD.

Deenie will always be remembered for her love and interest in her friends and the patients she worked with, her love of family and her devotion to her stepsons Hristo and Alex, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She will be remembered fondly as a generous soul who was giving and thoughtful.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Lefter Laevski, siblings Kenneth (Maureen) of Montreal, QC, Kathleen Panet (Robert) of Montreal, QC, Karen Logan (Stephen) of Thamesville, ON, and Gerry Chevrier (Sara) of Stanley, NB; stepsons Hristo (Mary) and Alex (Manon); granddaughters Kristina, Michelle, Angela, Marika, and Katarina; nieces and nephews Anais, Desiree, Liona, Mark, Sarah, Andrew, Edward, Emily, Daniel and many from the Laevski side - all very saddened by the sudden loss.

Cecillia Carrier

The death of Cecilia Carrier of Lorne occured at the Dalhousie Nursing Home Saturday, Dec.14, 2013 at the age of 95. Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Frank & Mary Estelle(Carrier) Godin.

Cecilia is survived by her son Sylvio (Norma) of Dalhousie; grandchildren Floyd Gagnon, Della Mallaley, Cora, Nelly, Jonathan, Rodney Carrier and Paula Donahue; brother Adellard; sisters Malvine Carrier and Anita LaPointe as well as her nine greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, daughter Geraldine Gagnon and son Louis. She was also predeceased by her siblings Alexander, Mary Jane, Eva, Amanda, Oswald and Vincent.

Fred Savoy

We said farewell to our beloved Fred on December 13, 2013 at the QE2 Hospital in Halifax.

Born in 1947, Fred grew up in Dalhousie, NB. He excelled in sports and after high school went to Ontario to play Junior hockey. When he returned to New Brunswick he was a proud member of St. Thomas University’s Varsity Men’s Hockey Team where he finished as captain. Fred’s passion for hockey continued all the way through to Old Timers Hockey and as an active coach with both the Woodstock Minor Hockey Association and the Woodstock High School Team. Fred also had a well-accomplished baseball career. He is on the Dalhousie Sports Wall of Fame (member of the Dalhousie Dodgers Provincial Championship team) and led the Restigouche Baseball League in hitting averages on several occasions. Fred went on to play in the NB Senior Baseball league in Marysville and Woodstock, winning the provincial championships with Marysville in 1973.

Fred graduated from St. Thomas in 1972 (BA) and 73 (BEd) and went on to work for 30 years in various roles in the education system, mainly in the Woodstock and Oromocto school districts. He ended his career as principal of Sudbury West School in Fredericton Junction. Fred was a proud Canadian. He loved golfing, reading, cooking meals for Linda, and watching sports, always cheering for the Maple Leafs and the Dodgers.

Most important to Fred was his family. His smile was never as beautiful nor his eyes so bright as when he was with them.

Fred will be deeply missed by his wife Linda, his beautiful daughters Sarah (Mansoor Amir) and Martha (Jason Archambault), grandson Daaniyal Amir, mother-in-law Elsie McCarthy, siblings: Judy, Lynn, Bonnie (Emerson), Joe (Jocelyn), as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Fred will be greatly missed by his many friends and his in-laws, to whom he was like a brother: Jan (Don), Cheryl (John), Dinah (Mike), Pat (Lucie), Tim (Gwen), Keith (Mary), Paul (Terri). He was predeceased by parents Cele and Walter.

William Peter Molley

William Peter Molley, 78, passed away on December 11, 2013 at Centre d'Hebergement de Maria with family by his side. William Peter was born on February 9, 1935, the son of late William and late Lena (Metallic) Molley.

He enrolled in the Canadian Millitary at a very young age and served his country proudly.

On Oct 12, 1963, he married Jessie Brown in Fall River Mass, USA.

He worked for 45 years as an Iron Worker in Local 7 in Boston MA, Connecticut, New York and New Brunswick. He was well respected in his trade and obtained 9 different welding certifications. He enjoyed traveling, reading, photography, skiing and meeting new friends wherever he went. Later in life, he especially enjoyed having his Tim's coffee and conversations with family and friends at the City Center mall.

William Peter is survived by his wife and lifelong companion of 51 years, Jessie (Brown) Molley of Fall River, three daughters and a son; Anna Molley of Listuguj, Lisa and husband Brian Martin of Listuguj, Mary and husband Paul Brisk of Listuguj, Jason and wife Colleen Molley of Listuguj, fourteen grandchildren sister Juliet and husband Jimmy Caplin from Listuguj, brother Norman and wife Dorthy Molley of Boston , brother Frank and wife Mary Jean Molley from Listuguj, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by siblings Myra (Mitchell) and Joe Albert Molley.

Special gratitude to former Grand Chief Joseph Norton, Kahnawake for the eulogy as well as pallbearers and ironworkers Wayne Molley, Warren Morrison, Harvey Martin and Floyd Swasson. Sincere appreciation for donations to the Cancer Society, flowers and to Susan Connors for her donation.

Ir was an honour to have the Pugwales singers/drummers to help send our Mi'gmaq Elder to his final resting palce.

A special Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion for their support to the family and for conducting a memorial tribute to their fallen comrade.

Joseph Lloyd Parent

Skilled gardener, dedicated blood donor, avid reader, barbecue king, Blue Jays fan, superb tea ring maker and pie crust pincher. Joseph Lloyd Parent died December 22, 2013 at his home in Dalhousie NB.

The sweetest grandfather, most loving father, and cherished husband, Lloyd was the eldest of six children born to Opal (née Thompson) and Edward Parent. He is survived by siblings Catherine (Mike) of Cleveland Ohio, and Walter (Jean), Alice, Yvonne, Leonard (Bev), of Dalhousie. He was an expert baseball player and a keen fisher who loved the outdoors.

On September 7th 1957, he married his sweetheart Theresa (née Regan) they had three beautiful bright daughters: Patricia Ann (Marshall Button), Gail (Robert Jensen), and Nancy (Albert Dicsi). Lloyd and Theresa would delight in taking them camping, fishing, skating, and skiing.

Lloyd worked at the Dalhousie pulp and paper mill for 40 years in the finishing department. He took great pride in all he did and encouraged those closest to him to do the same.

He loved to spend time with his ten grand children Hanna, Jacob, Sam, Emily, Andrew, Michael, Noah, Thea, Katie, and Matthew. With a great big heart, laughing and storytelling with his grand kids were among his favourite things.

A true gentleman and wonderful carpenter, he was kind, generous, and supportive to all. He lived a full life and found great joy in simple pleasures like feeding the birds in his yard or drinking a good cup of coffee.

His warm smile and infectious chuckle will be greatly missed.

Dora Glendenning

Mrs. Dora Glendenning, 81, wife of the late Norman Glendenning, of Big River, passed away on Monday (December 23, 2013) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Winton) Smearer.

Dora was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by three sons: Dale (Mona) of Bathurst, Bruce (Mona), Roy (Leigh Ann) both of Big River. Eight daughters: Lois McConaghy (Stan) of Fredericton, Joy Glendenning (Roger Allen) of Fredericton, Joan Johnston (Joe) of Saint John, Ann Roy (David) of Bathurst, Audrey Ramsay (Ralph), Beth Boucher (Walter) and Rhoda Sherrard (Stephen) all of Big River and Nancy Glendenning (Patrick Hawley) of Sydney, NS. 23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.

Dora was predeceased by a granddaughter, Lisa in 2002.

Pius LaPointe

The death of Pius LaPointe of Jacquet River occured at the Chaleur Hospital Bathurst, Dec.10, 2013 at the age of 78. Born in Jacquet River, he was the son of the late Jerry & Annie (Hickey) LaPointe.

He is survived by his children; Brenda, Debbie, Dan, Joy, Shannon & Curtis; sisters Juanita, Patricia & Genevieve; brothers Arthur & Stewart; as well as many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pius was predeceased by his brothers Leo, Joseph, Thomas, Osmond and sisters Pauline, Evangeline, Marion and Margaret.

Joanne Caissey

December 21, 2013 at the Campbellton Reional Hospital at the age of 69, passed away Mrs. Joanne Caisey of Atholville, parter of Mr. Joseph LeBlanc of Eel river Crossing. She was the daughter of the late Marie Roy and the late Charles Caissie.

She will be sadly missed by her sons; Marc (Corinne Dobson) of Campbellton & Jason (Felicia Broyard) of Belton, Texas; her grandchildren; Bradley, Paige & Tristan; her partner Joseph LeBlanc; her sisters: Betty 'Elizabeth' Caissie of Campbellton, Shirley (Marcel Babin) of Atholville, Charlene (Bob Gerrard) of Tide Head & Marina (late Geoff Williams) of Fredericton and her brother Louis (Reine Roy) of Bathurst also by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mike Robinson

The death of Mike Robinson of Jacquet River occured at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, Tuesday, Dec.17, 2013 at the age of 52. Born in Wallaceburg, ON., he was the son of James and Jeannie (Boudreau) Robinson.

Mike is survived by his wife Cynthia (Adams) Robinson; daughter Bridget, parents James & Jeannie; brothers Brian, Greg & Billy as well as his sisters Brenda and Jill.

Joyce McDavid

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Richard-McDavid, 63, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Born in Bathurst on June 17, 1950, she was the daughter of Jeanne-Mance (Doucet) Richard and of the late Jean-Guy Richard.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Jerry (Chantal), two sisters Vera Ostrowski (Rick) in Calgary, Alberta and Claire Richard (Fred) in Halifax, by seven brothers Maurice (Suzanne), Guy Jr. (Marie Luce), George (Cathy) in Beresford, Peter, Gary (Line), David (Heather) and Frank (Karen) as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband Robert McDavid, her youngest son Eldon Bruce McDavid, and her sister Albertine Ouellette (Gaetan).

Joyce had a warm and loving soul. She was an amazing wife and mother and a loving mother figure to so many in her life. Her helping and selfless spirit made her an angel to so many. She loved to cook and feed her loved ones. She loved playing cards and bingo, and enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her beautiful soul is now in heaven with her father, husband , son and sister.

Lorraine LeClair

Passed away at her residence on December 26, 2013 at the age of 67, Mrs. Lorraine LeClair of Campbellton.

She leaves to mourn her husband Terry, daughter Debbie, son Gilbert, her only grandchild Amy-Lynn, daughter-in-law Nathalie, brothers Richard (Lorraine) and Jules, one aunt, one uncle several sisters and brothers-in-law. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends to which she adored and loved very much.

Predeceased by her paretns Raoul Mercier and Mary Williamson, sister Celine in May 2013.
