Joyce Cooper
It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the death of Joyce Ina (Thompson) Cooper at the age of 91 on January 4, 2014. She peacefully passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Born in Dawsonville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Chesley and Ina (Gracie) Thompson., wife of the late George Cooper.
Joyce was an avid seamstress who made many a wedding dress in her day.
Joyce is survived by her son, Roy (Marie) Thompson, three grandchildren, Valerie (Barry) Irvine of Campbellton, NB, Julie (David) Thompson Hunter of Scotland and Kirsty Thompson of Barrie Ontario. Joyce has 5 great-grandchildren, Russell, Annabelle and Reuben, MacKenzie and Brody. She was predeceased by her husband the late George Cooper, sisters Mildred Butler, Georgina Westover and two brothers Percy and Ralph Thompson. There are five surviving members of her family, brothers Arden (Amy), Tom and Bill, sisters Susan and Betty.
Muriel Marlene MacLean
Passed away at the Palliative care unit in Dalhousie on January 3, 2014 at the age of 75, Mrs. Marlyna MacLean of Dalhousie, wife of the late Frank MacLean.
She was born May 14 1938 to the late Charles and Margaret Ross of Campbellton
She is survived by her son Danny/Margie of Airdrie, Alberta and grandson Derek/Jamie of Airdrie , Alberta, brother Merle Newell of Campbellton, brother-in-law Reg/Maureen MacLean, sister-in-law Fern MacLean of Dalhousie, also numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends include Elayne Hicks and Heather McLean.
Gwendolyn Flann R.N.
Passed away at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home on December 30, 2013 at the age of 85, Mrs. Gwendolyn Flann of Campbellton, wife of Gordon Flann.
Born November 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruby (Wood) Edwards.
Gwen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gordon J. Flann, daughters Ruby (Garry) Audfroid, Grwetchen (Richard) Chiasson, daughter-in-law Claudette Flann, grandchildren Jamie, Chris, Melissa, and Ashley, great grandchildren Colton and Ashton and her sister Elayne Hicks.
She was predeceased by her infant dauhter Margo and son Robin, brothers William, Bud, Burgess and sister Ella.
Kirk MacDonald
It is with heavy hearts full of sadness that we announce the passing of our precious infant son on January 5, 2014. Kirk Joel MacDonald was born on December 29, 2013 and he brought such joy to us as we were blessed to hold him close for eight precious days.
Kirk is the son of Brent and Kelly MacDonald and little brother to Dean.
His maternal grandparents are Robert and Robin Durette of Atholville, NB and his paternal grandparents are Joel and Brenda MacDonald of New Maryland NB. He is also the nephew of Kyle MacDonald, Samantha Durette, Ryan Mitchell, Ashley and Stephanie Durette. Kirk was predeceased by his Grandmother Simonne Durette.
Simon Duplessis
The death of Simon Duplessis of Jacquet River occurred at the palliative care unit of St. Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie, December 20th, 2013 at the age of 75. Born in Sunnyside he was the son of the late William Duplessis and Pauline (Lapointe) Duplessis.
He is survived by his daughter Brenda of Nash Creek, Joan of Nash Creek, Michael of Fredericton, and Jason of Hanover, Ontario; two grandchildren, Edward and Heather as well as his sisters Mona, Juanita, and Betty.
Gordon Robert Call Ullock
It is with heavy hearts that the family announce the death of Don Ullock at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Monday Dec. 30, 2013 at the age of 81. Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Gordon S. Ullock and the late Gertrude E. M. Devereau.
Survived by his wife of 37yr., Dora Mae (Matchett) Ullock; daughters Karen (Mike) Farrar, Kim (Allen) Firth & Kathy (Brian) Murray; step-son Bruce Brown (Julie). Grandchildren: Matthew (Erin), Lisa, James, Adam (Beckey) & Jocelyn (Jeremy); Step-grandchildren: Alison & Melanie; Gr. grandchildren: Christopher & Cadence; Step-gr. grandchildren: Anthony, Olivia, Evan & Jaden. Sisters Dodie MacDonald and Helen (Murray) Dunnett, and brother Jack (Jean) Ullock. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his 1st wife Marg Hunt, step-daughter Edith Brown, sister Betty (Mel) Hubbard, baby brother Jerry Ullock and brother-in-law Scottie MacDonald.
Don was a Carman with the CNR in Moncton when he met his 1st wife Marg. He transferred to C'ton where they settled down and had a family. After marrying Dora Mae the couple moved to Tide Head, NB where he resided until his death. He retired after 41 yr. of service. He was at one time a member of the CNR Bowling League. A Past Pres. of the C'ton Curling Club, he shared his passion for curling with his dad and grandson Adam. He & Dora Mae were long-time members of the Order of the Eastern Star of which Don was a Past Worthy Patron. In 2010 he rec'd. a medal for 50 yr. of dedicated service to the Masonic Lodge where he held the office of Director. He was also a member of the U. C. Men's Choir.
Known for being a gentleman, Don was a quiet man with a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed music, camping, woodworking, gardening, playing cards, supporting the local SPCA and spending time at their trailer in PEI.
Therese Robichaud nee Downing

Lomer Gerald Basque
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 4, 2014 at the age of 75, Mr. Lomer Gerald Basque of Dalhousie Nursing Home, husband of Sylvia Field Basque.
He was loved by all, and he'll be dearly missed. He always put others before himself, and when he had little to give, he gave anyway.
He is survived by his dear wife Sylvia Basque (Field) his children Rod, Steve, Kimberly and Derek, four grandchildren andone great grandchild, his brothers and sisters.
Carol Campbell
The death of Carol Campbell of the Dalhousie Nursing Home and formerly of St.John,NB. occured Jan.05,2014 at the Dalhousie Nursing Home at the age of 74.
Born in St.John,she was daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Lemon) Hamilton.
Carol is survived by her daughters Holly Campbell Miller (Brian) of St.John,Patricia MacMillan of Vancouver,grandson Keegan and grandaughter Candace as well as her brother Murray of St.John.She was predeceased by her husband Chester and sisters Dorothy,Muriel,Lois & Elinor.
Cynthia Patricia Mary Harris
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 9, 2014 at the age of 88, Mrs. Cynthia Patricia Mary Harris of Dalhousie, wife of 1st marriage the late Paul Roy and 2nd marriage the late Stanley Harris.
Following her first marriage in London, Cynthia joined the Canadian Army Corps where she served in the Signals Corps at Canadian Military Headquarters London. After the war, she sailed to Canada on the Aquitania in 1946 landing in Halifax at Pier 21 being both a War Bride and a Canadian Veteran. Cynthia had a long carreer with Canada Post in Dalhousie. Upon her retirement, she dedicated her time and passion supporting and helping other veterans. Cynthia had many leadership roles in her 45 years of service with the Royal Canadian Legion. She had served as President and more recently Honorary President. She was the recent recipient of the Queen's Elizabeth 11 Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. Cynthia was very proud to be a Canadian. She was a member of the Canadian War Brides Association and enjoyed meeting fellow War Brides at the many conventions she attended.
She is survived by her six children David (Violet Ford) Roy, Ottawa, ON, Dereck (Susan) Roy Innisfail, Alberta, Brenda (Ronnie) Senechal Dalhousie, Megan Roy-O'Brien (Brenda O'Brien) Caledon East, ON, Sharon Harri (Terry Smith) Dalhousie and Heather Harris Creaser (Brian Jones) Fredericton, her sister, Gwen Ford, England and brother Ken (Pauline ) Chapman, Enland. She was also survived by 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grand children. She leaves behind her two canine friends Lady Di and Kiki.
She was predeceased by husband Paul Roy (1956) and Stan Harris (2008).
Cynthia will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her and she will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever. We will remember her, We will remember her.
Aaron Ann Sutton
It is with great sadness that the family of Aaran Ann (Hamilton) Sutton, 71, of Dalhousie NB, announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday January 11, 2014. Born on October 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Ena (Simpson) Hamilton.
Aaran will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Charlie Sutton; children Tracey Eagles (Rod), Glen Sutton (Deena), Jennifer MacDonald (Doug) all living in Quispamsis, NB; grandchildren Adam, Jared and Emma Eagles, Ethan and Riley Sutton, Sarah and Taylor MacDonald and brother Roger Hamilton of Montreal, QC.She was predeceased by brothers Bill, Neil and Dean, by sisters Barbara and Norma.
Throughout her life, Aaran was a very friendly and positive person who always had a kind and caring word for family, friends and acquaintances. She continued to remain amazingly strong and positive during her short but painful illness. Her family would like to express their gratitude for the care she received at the Campbellton Regional Hospital and on the oncology and palliative care units of the Saint John Regional Hospital.
James "Jim" Harris
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 28, 2013 at the age of 79, Mr. James M. Harris of Campbellton, husband of Margaret Johnson Harris.
James was the son of the late James and Elsie (Gallie) Harris of Glencoe
He was survived by his wife Margaret and his children Harry (Darlene) of NS, Randy (Nicole) of Glencoe, Brent and Richard, both of Toronto, his daughter Brenda (Royce), his grandchildren Jonathan, JR, Kevin, Randall, Brittany, Brandon, Michaela, and Adelayde as well as his great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters Elsie (Scott) Firth of Flatlands and June Harris of Ontario.
He was predeceased by his two oldest sons James (Jimmy) and Scott as well as his brother Merle of NS.
Marie Josephine (Josie) Gaudin
Passed away in Brockville, Ontario on January 7, 2014 at the age of 86, Mrs. Marie Josephine Gaudin formerly of Escuminac, wife of the late Clifford Gaudin.
She was the daughter of the late Cyril Vautour and the late Emma Gauthier. Devoted mother of Rachel Thorne (Ken) of Stoney Creek, Doreen Brennan (Raymond) , Sheila Esson (Wayne) and Patricia Kennedy (Allan) all of Brockville. Cherished grandmother of several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, loving sister of Gerry Vautour (Rose ) of Pointe a la Croix, several nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Predeceased by her husband Clifford Gaudin, five children Sterling, Ruth, Miles, Judy and Merle, one sister Emma, three brothers Adeland, Marcel and Arthur, one granddaughter and two greatgrandchildren.
She was an active member of the Adult Day Brockville, Ont. In the past she was an active member of the Golden Age Club in Pointe a la Garde for many years.
Paul Charest
Friday, January 10th, 2014 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 74, passed away Mr. Paul Charest of Campbellton. He was the son of the late Rita (Pitre) and late Andre Charest.
He will be sadly missed by his brothers and sisters: Robert of Campbellton, Bertrand (Nicole) of Campbellton, Albertine (Blake) of Chatam, Ernest-Guy (Lucille) of Malauze, Marcel of Quebec, Lucien (France) of St-Maure, Marie (Gaetan) of Atholville, Pierre (Suzanne) of Campbellton, Mario of Louisiana and Armand (Helene) of Malauze also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers: Roger, Jean-Marie, Jean-Denis, Gaetan, Jacques, Irenee, Gordon and Camille.
