Betty Duplessis

The death of Betty Duplessis of Dalhousie occured Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 68. Born in Jacquet River,she was the daughter of the late William and Pauline (LaPointe) Duplessis.

Betty is survived by her husband Pat Anderson, daughters Kim Carrier (Gerald) of Dalhousie, Brenda Jenson (Peter) of Dalhousie and Bertha Anderson as well as her 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and her sisters Juanita MacKenzie and Mona Palmater.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Veronica

Elizabeth Mary Munroe

The death of Elizabeth "Betty" Mary Munroe (Glidden) of Tide Head occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Thursday December 25, 2014 at the age of 76. Born in Campbellton on September 5, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Nina and Herbert Glidden of Squawcap and wife of the late Donald Munroe of Tide Head.

Betty is survived by her four children; sons; Steeven (Ruth) of Rockland Ont., David (Lucie) of Glencoe, daughters; Nancy Parlee (Roy) and Leah Allard (Jean Pierre) of Tide Head, nice grandchildren and three brothers Jim, Glen and Bob Glidden.

She was predeceased by her sister Hazel.

Betty worked in the school system as a Food Service Area Supervisor for Beaver Foods until her retirement in June 1994. She was very involved in her community throughout her life time. She volunteered when her children were small with the Tide Head Winbter Carnivals, was a Girl Guide Leader and a member of the UCW with the Saint Andrews United Church in Tide Head.

Mary Elsie Caldwell

Mary Elise Caldwell formerly of Campbellton passed away peacefully at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on Friday January 16 following a lenghthy illness and just shy of her 94th birthday. Elise was the widow of the late Frank L. Caldwell. Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Harry J. Hubert and Florine Doherty.

She is survived by her sister Isabel Bisson of the Campbellton Nursing HOme; her sister-in-law Joanne Hubert of the Darlington Manor and formerly of Charlo, her special niece Wendy Hubert and God son Stephen Mann, several nieces and nephews and special friend Donna McEwen.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceqased by her husband Frank (2002), brothers Allison, Harry (Ned) and David.

Elsie was a devoted wife to Frank for over 50 years. They welcomed their many friends to their home on Arran Street and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her garden and spent many hours tending her flowers.

A very spiritual person, her faith and her church were a very important part of her life.

Elsie had a wonderful career as a registered nurse at Soldiers Memorial and Hotel Dieu hospitals. Her career was as diverse as looking after patients, operating room nurse, training new nurses and travelling with critically ill patients who required care in other larger centres. Rte 2 (TCH) is closed between Moncton and the #NS border until further notice Elise joined Lady Alexander Chapter #24 Order of the Eastern Star in January, 1967 and was an active member as long as her health permitted. She served as Worthy Matron in 1975-76 and as a Grand Representative of Quebec in New Brunswick from 1981 to 1983.

Mary Gertrude "Gertie" MacNauhton (nee Firth)

MacNaughton, Mary Gertrude "Gertie" (nee Firth) 82 years of Matapedia, Quebec. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mom at the CLSC Malauze, surrounded by her children, in Matapedia, Quebec on January 18, 2015. Gertie was born in Matapedia, Quebec on October 1, 1932, to the late Lawrence and the late Winnifred (Firth) Haley.

She married Allison MacNaughton of Deeside, Quebec on December 9, 1961 in Toronto, Ontario. Allie predeased her in 1979. Mom would say her greatest achievements in life were here children and grandchildren whom she totally adored with all her heart! Her family were precious to her. Mom loved good food, socializing and providing a warm meal to others. She had a wonderful sense of humour, loved to tease and always ready to make someone smile. Smiles and hugs were important to her. She was always ready to travel when going to visit family. She gained much strength from her everlasting love for the Lord. She passed that strength to her children with undying belief and conviction.

She was a loving mother to Wendy (husband Dan Hrechka) of Kingston, Ontario, Wade (wife Chantal Couturier) of Matapedia, Quebec and Susan (husband Tim Myles) of Tide Head, New Brunswick. Cherished grandmother to Justin, Emilie, Shannon and Liam. Dear sister of Grace Leblanc of Nouvelle, Quebec, Maureen Blaquiere (husband Clifford) of Matapedia, Quebec and Glenda Gascon (husband Richard) of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec. She was predeceased by siblings, Theresa, Mathilda, Lawrence, Howard, Maxine, Rita, Lawson, Colbourne, Denzil, Richard and Barbara. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Boyd Noye

Sunday, January 18th, 2015 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 76, passed away Mr. Boyd Noye of Upsalquitch, husband of Carmen Noye. He was the son of the late Isabel (Noye) and late Thomas Noye.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Carmen of Upsalquitch; his brother and sisters: Ronald (Muriel Moran) of Upsalquitch, Kay Main of Campbellton and Lorraine (Fred Main) of Glenco, his brother-in-law Lee Marshall of Upsalquitch and also by many nieces, nephews, members of the Murray family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Keith Noye and his sister Ruth Marshall.

Dorcas Arseneault

The death of Dorcas Arseneault of Dalhousie occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Monday, January 12, 2015 at the age of 86. Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Holten and Julia (Guitar) Hickey.

Dorcas is survived by her husband Leonard;s on Brian of Campbellton & daughter Carol (Jean Pierre Godin) of Grand Prairie, Alberta; 6 grandchildren & 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Eldon, Earl, Mackay and Gussie as well as her sisters Barbara Brophy, Charlotte Joncas and Audrey Furlong.

She was predeceased by her son David, brothers Marvin and Clarence and sister Myrtle Delaney.

Gloria May Smith

Peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in her 86th year.

Beloved wife of the late J. Carman. Cherished mother of Devany (deceased), Wendy, Dean, Merilee and Leslie. Loving grandmother of Matthew (Edey), Alexis, Melissa, Simon and Zachary. Also missed by Ron and Natalie Twiddy, Arlene Skagfeld, Peter Dobias and Nitti Subramaniam. Sister to Randy (Vera), the late Roy (Helen), Vera (Arnold), Florence (the late Don), Joan and Doug (Ruby).

Robert "Bob" Allain

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 12, 2015 at the age of 56, Robert "Bob" Allain of Campbellton, formely of Hillside Street. Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Albert Allain and Helen Wade.

He is survived by his children, Shaun Allain, Campbellton and Jennifer Allain, Campbellton, and his sisters and brothers, Patty Firth (Dusty),Flatlands, Bert Allain, Granby, QC, Sherri Allain, Granby, QC and Jimmy Allain, Fredericton.

Rolande McKenna

Passed away at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on January 19, 2015 at the age of 92, Mrs. Rolande McKenna, wife of the late Frank McKenna. Born in Charlo on October 26, 1922, daughter of the late Donat Lepage and the late Geneviève Emma Poirier.

She is survived by two sisters, Laura and Anita; her sister-in-law, Theresa; her niece Diane, and many other nieces and nephews from outside the area.

Rolly was predeceased by her husband, Frank; her parents; 5 brothers & 2 sisters.
