Gordon Archibald

With deep sadness the family announces the death of Gordon Archibald of Archibald Settlement which occurred at the Darlington Manor January 24, 2017 at the age of 96. Born in Archibald Settlement, he was the son of the late Robert William and Ella Jane (Winton) Archibald. Gordon was a life-long resident of Archibald Settlement until he moved to Darlington Manor in 2011. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed.

Gordon is survived by his son Wayne (Clare) of Moncton and daughter Esther of Fredericton as well as his grandsons Jeffrey (Katie) of Moncton and Patrick (Norah) of Toronto; 2 great grandchildren Jude and Rory; brother Alward of Richmond Hill, Ontario and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian (Doucett)and siblings Beatrice, Florence and Sterling. ??

Gordon farmed for many years and was employed at the Brunswick Smelter prior to his retirement. A life member of Bethel United Church, he served as an elder, on the Board of Stewards and on the New Mills United Church Cemetery Committee. Gordon enjoyed being with his family and friends, working in the woods, gardening and making maple syrup. He loved a good game of cards, bowling, music and dancing.

Mariette Landry

Mariette Landry, wife of Isidore JR. Landry of Charlo passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the age of 69. Daughter of the late Clairine Fournier Babin and Romain Babin of Charlo. Mariette is survived by her husband Isadore JR.; sister Lorette Heppell (Richard) of Charlo; niece Chantale Heppell-Maltais of Dalhousie and nephew Rene Heppell of Bridgewater, NS.

Johanne Savoie

Wednesday, January 25th, 2017, passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 45, Johanne Savoie of Atholville, girlfriend of Tony LeBlanc. She was the daughter of Mrs. Linda (nee Michaud) and Mr. William "Bello" Savoie.

Besides her boyfriend, Tony, she will be sadly missed by her parents of Campbellton; her brother Marc (Lynne Corriveau) of Campbellton; her nephew François and her niece Gabrielle also by many members of the LeBlanc family and friends.

She was predeceased by her brother René.

Funeral mass was held on January 31st, 2017 in the Our Lady of Snow Church of Campbellton and celebrated by Father Maurice Frenette. A donation to the Tree of Hope Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Lodia Sullivan

On January 29th, 2017, Lodia Sullivan passed away peacefully with her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Ralph by her side. Born in Val Comeau, N.B. September 16th 1939, Lodia lived most of her life raising her family with Ralph in Dalhousie Junction N.B. After Ralph's retirement from C.N. they moved to Browns Flat N.B. and later settled in Miramichi.

Lodia was active in the Wesleyan Church and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She worked for many years caring for seniors in their homes and they enjoyed her cooking and companionship. She was always keen to help anyone in need. She was always interested in what all the family, hers and Ralph's, sisters, brothers, and their families, her many nieces and nephews were up to and cared for all of them.

Lodia is survived by her husband Ralph, daughters Carol Sanders of Ottawa, ON, and Sandra (Curtis) Tattersall of Perth–Andover, N.B., sons Curtis (Chaz) Sullivan of Toronto ON and Donald (Julie) Sullivan of Point La Nim and grandchildren Christina, Brian, Jeremy, Emily, Joel, Adam, Ashlee, Alex, Nicholas, Jared and Shanda, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She is also survived by her mother Alizine Benoit, sisters Georgina (Jean Guy) Couture, Lucina Basque, Donalda Benoit (Deda), Barbara (Donald) Graveline, Raymonde (Rejean) Harrison, Viola (John) Wielink, Magella (Bertrand) Savoie, Laurraine Benoit, brothers Ronald (Leonette) Benoit, Come (Patricia) Benoit, and Jean–Yves.

She was prepeceased by her father Maxime Benoit and brothers Allard, Robert and Gerald.

Florence Winnifred Mann

It is with great sadness that the family of Florence Winnifred Mann, beloved wife of the late Wendell Mann announce her passing on January 28, 2017 at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home at the age of 87. Born in Campbellton, NB on May 15, 1929 to the late Winnifred Hachey and Alexander Moore.

She is survived by her children, son Wendell Mann Jr. (Normi), daughters Gloriann Law, Cathy (Kenny) Charlong and Shelley Mann; her grandchildren, Ryan Mann (Melissa), Boyd Charlong (Elizabeth), Kristopher Charlong and Alexandria Whyte; her great grandchildren, Cohen, Reaghan, Felicity, Lauren and MacKenzie and her brother David (Sharon) Hachey and sisters Helen (Stanley) Ritchie and Ethel Murchie.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff of the Campbellton Village Nursing Home for their compassion and care given to our mother and to Sharon Hachey and Lois Harris for their comfort and kindness.

Barbara Bolduc (Firth)

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Barbara Bolduc (Firth) on January 28, 2017 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 17, 1959 in Campbellton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Baden Firth.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Luc Bolduc; children, Justin Bolduc (Amanda) and Bianca Bolduc (Luc); mother, Maxine (Cooling) Firth; brother, David Firth (Simmone) and sister, Darlene Firth.

Barbara loved photography and capturing moments with people, nature, and places. She found beauty in everything and everyone. She remains forever in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Huguette Éli Pichette

Huguette Éli Pichette est décédée paisiblement à l'Hôtel Dieu de Québec, le 1er février à l'âge de 80 ans et 8 mois. Huguette est la dernière des enfants de feu Eugène Pichette et de feu Marie-Ange Rousseau. Originaire de Campbellton NB, elle demeurait à Québec.

Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux Gilles Lafond et sa famille, trois de ses enfants, Michel, Hélène et Gilles, huit petits-enfants, deux arrière-petits-enfants, les familles Allard, deux belles sœurs, Simonne Richard (Numa) et Simonne Guitard (Gaston), plusieurs neveux et nièces, cousins, cousines et ami(e)s.

Elle est allée rejoindre son premier époux Yvannhoe Allard, sa fille Denyse, ses frères et sa sœur, Roger (Florence), Numa, Raymonde (Lucien), Raymond (Claudette), Jean-Paul (Mary Helen) et Gaston.

Joseph E “Buddy” Gallen

The death of Joseph E “Buddy” Gallen of Benjamin occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Tuesday, February 7th, 2017 at the age of 88.

Born in Benjamin River, he was the son of the late Joseph Gallen and the late Edith Gallen and is survived by his daughter Norma Latulippe (George) of Dalhousie and his sons Donald (Louise) of Belledune, Robert (Nancy) of Fredericton, John (Lisa) of Seaside and Derek (Karen) of Seaside; his grandchildren Jason, Morgan, Brandon, Justin, Jennifer, Christopher, Nathan and Jacob as well as step-grandchildren Emilie, Marc and Caroline and his great-grandchildren Rowen, Jaida and Layken and step-great-grandchildren Kayla, Danika, Mia, Cassandra and Olivia.

Buddy is also survived by his sisters Inez, Henrietta, Elva, Opeline, Eveline, Connie, Coleen, and his brother Leon. Buddy was predeceased by his wife Dorothy "Dot"(LaPointe), grandson Kyle, brothers Cecil and Camille and his sisters Eileen, Ernestine, and Camilla.

Gayle Chesser

Gayle Chesser passed away at the Dr. Georges–L.–Dumont University Hospital Centre on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the age of 74. She was the wife of the late Robert (Bob) Chesser. Born in Campbellton on August 12, 1942; she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Alma Irvine.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Robert, Deborah (Brent Wall) and Craig (Nicole); her six grandchildren: Courtney, Caitlin, Cayla, Jordan, Bria and Haleigh; her brother: Kerry (Bridget); her sisters: Ona and Susan (Jean–Guy) as well as a very special friend Rollie Anderson and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she is predeceased by her daughter Kelly and her brother Karl.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of the orthopedic unit and the I.C.U. at the Georges–L–Dumont Hospital for the excellent care provided.

Valmont Gionet

Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 80, passed away Mr. Valmont Gionet of Pointe–à–la–Croix and formerly of Atholville. He was the son of the late Agnes (nee Pitre) and the late Onesime Gionet.

He will be sadly missed by his children: Brenda (Ken Jolley) of Kincardine, ON, Diane (Richard Robichaud) of Pembroke, ON, Michelle (Nicholas Piromalli) of Montreal, QC and late Angela; his five grandchildren: Christine, late Joey, Jason, Lori Anne & Kimberley; his eight great–grandchildren; sisters & brothers: Carmen (Henri Theberge) of Pointe–à–la–Croix, Gilberte (Duke Aube) of Moncton, Ralph of Atholville, Leo of Campbellton and Guy (Therese) of Atholville and by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
