Lucie Albert

A la Villa Providence de Shédiac, le mercredi 21 janvier 2015, à l’âge de 83 ans, est décédée Lucie Albert. Elle demeurait à Shédiac mais autrefois de Campbellton. Née à St-Alexis-de-Matapédia, Québec le 17 avril 1931, elle était la fille de feu Philippe Poirier et feu Angéline Blacquière.

Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils Roger (Jeanne Maddix) de Moncton; ses trois filles : Dianne Albert (Paul-André Babin) de Shediac Cape, Pauline Albert (Paul Melanson) de Petit Cap et Suzanne Albert-LeBlanc (Marc) de Moncton; trois frères : Lucien (Patsy), Adélard et Marcel (Bibiane) tous du Québec; ses petits-enfants : Chantal (Marc-André) Albert, Stéphane (Marie-Anne), Albert, Maxime (Annie) Babin, Alexandre (Christelle) Babin, Julie (Gabriel) Bourque, André (Leondra) Bourque, Sylvie LeBlanc, Marilou LeBlanc.

Elle fut précédée dans la tombe par son époux, Alfred; cinq frères : Fortunat, Fernand, Arthur, Robert, Albert; deux sœurs : Bertha et Rita. La famille recevra les condoléances au Centre funéraire et de crémation Frenette, 396 rue Main à Shédiac (532-3297) d’où les funérailles seront célébrées samedi le 24 janvier à 11h00.

Anne Reba (Firth) Bain

Passed away at the Viilage Nursing Home on January 20, 2015 at the age of 96, Annie Reba (Firth) Bain of Flatlands, wife of the late Ralph Bain Sr. Born in Flatlands on March 28th, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Isabella Gordon (Cooling) Firth.

She will be sadly missed by her sons Ralph (Anna Lea) of Flatlands, Dale (Linda) of Campbellton, grandchildren; Nancy, Darlene, Mark (Line), Chris (Kateri), Jennifer (Paul); great grandchildren; Courtney, Jamie, Brandon, Natasha, Nicholas, Samuel, Colten, Carson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Bain Sr., her parents and her sisters and brothers.

Her funeral service was held at Maher's Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 24th at 11:00am. Reverend, Jim Postlethwaite officiating. A family tribute was given by nephew Don Thompson. Pallbearers were grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thanks to organist Ruth Nicol and the choir. Visitation was held prior to the funeral. Interment will take place at Flatlands Cemetery in the spring. Special thanks to the staff of the Campbellton Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Annie during her time spent there.

John Ralph Johnson

Relatives and friends were saddened to hear the loss of John Johnson on Tuesday December 30th, 2014 after a brief illness. He was 84. Born in Campbellton on April 22, 1930 he was the youngest and last surviving of 17 children of the late John (Jack) Johnson and Margaret Ferguson.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Evelyn Fitzpatrick. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

In 1949, John entered the Canadian Armed Forces and served with the Canadian Artillery during the Korean War. He was a retired employee of the Campbellton Provincial Hospital, where he served as chief stationary Engineer for 26 years. He was an avid sportsman, enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at his camp, watching hockey and being a member of the Tide Head Liars club, which held daily meetings at the Tide Head Service Station. He was a member of Canadian Legion Branch 19. John was a kind and generous soul who was much appreciated by family and friends. He loved a laugh and his quick wit was enjoyed by all.

Emilie Laviolette

Wednesday, January 21st, 2015 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 89, passed away Mrs. Emilie Laviolette of Campbellton and formerly of Atholville, wife of the late Auley Laviolette. Born in Balmoral, She was the daughter of the late Clara (Cayouette) and the late Ferdinand Normand.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Jocelyne (late Charles Sharp) of Campbellton, Michel of Campbellton, Louise (Michael Patterson) of Gaspe, Que., Monique of Montreal, Pierre (Johanne) of Carleton, QC, Claude of Atholville, Jacques (Tara McKillop) of Atholville and Jean (Debora) of Bathurst; her grandchildren: Gary, Ceilidh, Nathalie, Randy, Patrick, Mathieu, Frederic, Monika and Dominic; her great grandchildren: Jacob, Joannie, Tyler, Emelie and Gabriel and also by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Auley, her son Norman, her parents and her brother Lucien Normand.

Lois Ferguson

Lois Ferguson passed away suddenly at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 8, 2015. Born in Campbellton on December 20, 1953, daughter of the late Melvin Ferguson and the late Winnifred (Winnie Homer/Morin) Ferguson.

She leaves to mourn her companion Desmond Rankin, nephew Brody Ferguson of Campbellton, niece Ashley Ferguson of Dalhousie, four sisters: Sylvia (the late John Bennett) of Ajax Ontario, Linda Parl, Karen, and Lorna, all of Toronto Ontario, and two brothers: Chester Morin of British Columbia and John Morin of Alberta. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Elsie Ferguson, and one brother, Don Morin.

Therese Hennessy

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Therese Hennessy, peacefully at home on January 23, 2015, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of the late Dr. Robert Hennessy and a beautiful and loving mother to: Barbara, Colleen (Mike), Shawn (Gail), Carol, Timothy and Michael (Jennifer) and proud Nana to seven grandchildren: Kailen, Shane, Michala, Nicholas, Daniel, Samuel and Katherine and one great-granddaughter, Maiah.

She is survived by two sisters: Helene (late James), Corrine (Rheal); three brothers: Regis (Monique), Norman (Monique) and Edgar (Helen) as well as many nieces and nephews in Bathurst and other parts of Canada and USA.

Born in West Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late J. Charles and Marguerite Anne (Melanson) Comeau.

She was predeceased by daughters: Kathryn Elaine and Maureen Patricia; and husband, Robert Hennessy.

After graduating from Sacred Heart Academy, she attended Bathurst Nursing School becoming a Registered Nurse. She was always very proud to have been a nurse and work alongside Dad later on in his office. In 1996, she received a Certificate of Recognition from the Nurses Association of New Brunswick. She was a beautiful wife and mother and loving nana, quick to hug with words of wisdom - "seek and ye shall find" being a favourite. She and Dad travelled the world together - they trekked through the Scandinavian countries, hung upside down to kiss the Blarney Stone in Ireland, swam in the Caribbean Islands and climbed the Great Wall of China. She enjoyed skating, walking the "three bridges" and was a keen supporter of the Terry Fox Walk - participating in it for 25 years. When June would come, she would always look forward to going to the beach where family gatherings and celebrations were held with optional water fights. A current member of the Catholic Women's League, she also supported the Doucet Hennessy House Association.

We will miss her very much but know that she is holding hands with Dad and watching over us.

Glen Lapointe

The death of Glen LaPointe of Nash Creek occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the age of 58. Born in Nash Creek, he was the son of Rose and the late Gordon LaPointe.

Glen was an avid fisherman, a movie buff and loved working on his brother-in-laws farm.

He is survived by his mother Rose (Gallen); siblings Margaret Doucet (John) of Becketville, Donnie (Donna) of Nash Creek, Cynthia Godin (Randy) of Black Point, Joan LaPointe (Randy) of Scarborough, Terry (Dale) of Nigadoo, Sharon Godin (Gilles) of Dalhousie as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Gordon, sister Marion Brophy as well as his brothers Herman and Eugene.

Edward Dube

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, on January 24, 2015 at the age of 78, Edward Dubé of Pointe-à-la-Croix, husband of the late Rose-Aline Ratté et common-law-wife of Ruby Beek.

Funeral services will be held at Maher's Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St., Campbellton , Tuesday at 11am.

Visitation at Maher's Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, Monday from 7-9 and Tuesday at the Chapel, 1 hour before the funeral service.

Donations to the War Amps would be appreciated by the family.

Donat Ouellette

Passed away at the George Dumont Hospital on January 21, 2015 at the age of 89, Donat Ouellette of Atholville, husband of the late Marie Blanche Gallant. Born in Balmoral on March 24, 1925, son of the late Arthur Ouellette and the late Philomène Matte.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Jeanne (Léopold St. Laurent) of Fredericton and Gisèle Ouellette of Atholville; 3 sons, Raymond (Claudine) of Atholville, Lucien of Campbellton and Robert (Noëlla) of Pointe-à-la-Croix; his companion, Hélène Poirier of Atholville and his daughter-in-law, Claudette Ouellette; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Jean-Marie, his parents, and 2 brothers, William and Arthur Jr.

Donations to the Heart and stroke and Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

Theresa Lawlor

The death of Theresa Lawlor of Belledune occurred suddenly on January 22, 2015, at the age of 64.

Born in Jacquet River on January 23, 1950, Theresa was the daughter of the late Peter and Olive (Legacy) Lawlor.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Bernard Shannon; daughter, Rhonda Shannon (TJ Stidwill) of Ottawa; brothers: Don (Pat) of Navan, ON; Ken (Sharolyn) of Duluth, MN; Frank (Agatha) of Belledune; sister: Barbara Flanagan (Joey) of Belledune; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Gerald, and sister, Doreen.

Theresa worked for many years in the secretarial field at the Belledune Smelter, before taking time off to spend at home with her daughter. She later worked at her beloved Belledune School, where she remained until she retired.

A kind person to all, Theresa will be so dearly missed by her family, friends, former colleagues and students.

Margaret Irene McLauhlin

Passed away at the Darlington Manor in Dalhousie, on January 24, 2015 at the age of 94, Margaret Irene McLaughlin of Dalhousie, wife of the late Oscar McLaughlin. Born in Jacquet River on September 1 , 1920, daughter of the late Wilfred Roy and the late Laura Doucet.

She leaves to mourn her daughter, Martha McLaughlin of Point-La-Nim; her sons, David McLaughlin (Christine) of Dalhousie and Douglas McLaughlin (Anne) of Charlo; her brothers, Alfred Roy of Bathurst, Stewart Roy of Point-La-Nim, Sheldon Roy of Ontario, Floyd Roy of Charlo and Danny Roy of Australia; her sisters, Helen Carrier of Dalhousie, Sophie of Charlo and Lausa of Jacquet River. She was also survived by her 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her step mother, Beatrice Duplessie; her sister, Agatha and her brother, Sambo.
