Flavien "Crack Jack" Comeau
Monday, June 5th, 2017 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 97, passed away Mr. Flavien "Crack Jack" Comeau of Atholville, husband of the late Léa Duguay. He was the son of the late Albina (born Roy) and the late Clément (Jose) Comeau.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Roger (Jocelyne Boudreau) of Rimouski, Paul (Laura Lee Ouellette) of Atholville, Pauline (Bob Knack) of New Hamburg, Ont.; Nicole (Gary Savoie) of Dalhousie Junction, Rachel of Atholville and Chantal (Luc Savoie) of Atholville; his grandchildren: Luc, Jean, Michelle, Nadine, Chelsea, Jamey, Tanya, Crystal, Stéphane and Erica; his 15 great grandchildren also by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife, his parents, his brothers and sisters: Orphir, Benoit, Firman, Lorenzo, Adeline, Clémentine and Laurianne.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family, on April 27, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, William (Bill) Upton. Loving mother of Louis (Patti), Deborah, Heather (deceased), Carol Ann (Brad), Michael (Debbie). Nanny to Angela, Adam, Matthew, Stephen, Brian, Brandon, Julianne and Melissa, and great-Nanny to Charlotte, Emerson, Felix and Madelyn June.
John Vernon Peterson
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the age of 78.
John was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces from the age of 17 until his retirement to the Comox Valley in 1976. He spent the rest of his working years at various business ventures around the Valley. In his spare time, he enjoyed hiking, skiing, gardening, fishing and boating, but his main passion was the game of bridge. He dedicated many hours to giving lessons at home and on cruise ships, enjoying helping people to understand the "new language" of the game. John attained his life Master designation and was the Bridge Club Manager and Director for many years. After being diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2000, he became an active member of the Prostate Support Group and worked with the Canadian Cancer Society, mentoring brachytherapy patients across Canada. John fought a long and admirable battle with cancer. He touched many lives and will be missed.
John is survived by his wife Arlene, his son Kehl (Carolynn) and grandchildren Trew and Nikolas, his son Christopher (Tina) and grandchildren Faye and Stella, his daughter Kristen (Steve) and grandchildren Liam and Emily, Arlene's daughters Sherri and Teresa (Don) and grandson Shaun (Dawn) and great-grandchildren Tasha and Sarah, grandson Cory (Taylor) and great-granddaughter Amelia, and granddaughter Kristy, John's first wife Gail and her mother Gwen, his brothers Dennis (Fay), Walter, Manley (Joan), Ole (Phillis), his sisters Amy (John) and Esther, and was predeceased by by brothers Roger and Ken.
Born in New Mills, he was the seventh son, followed by two sisters to the late Verner and Eva Petersen.
A special thanks to Dr. Tanja Daws, the oncologist teams in Comox, Victoria and Vancouver and the wonderful staff at St. Joseph's Hospital.
James Landry
The death of James Landry of Jacquet River occurred at the Veterans' Unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Sunday, May 14th, 2017 at the age of 94. Born in Doyleville, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Elsliger) Landry.
James was a World War II army veteran. He was President of the Durham Legion Branch 77, as well as District Commander of the Legion of the North Shore. He worked as a private contractor as well as a supervisor for the Department of Highways, and in addition served on the school board. He was an avid fisherman who loved his boat, as well as flying and piloting his own plane, and also enjoyed playing the fiddle for many years for the Christmas Daddies and seniors homes.
James is survived by the mother of his children, Genevive (Galloway) Landry, his children Bernice Landry Arnold (George), Thomas Landry (Janice), Betty Harvey (Lloyd), Maureen Dennis (Ron), Leo Landry (Shirley), Gregory Furlotte Landry, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his special friend Irene Doiron and his sister Mona Furlotte (Wendell). He is predeceased by his son James P. Landry.
James Gauthier
The death of James Gauthier of Mitchell occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at the age of 72. Born in Becketville, he was the son of the late Walter and Estella (Doyle) Gauthier.
James is survived by his wife Genevieve (Elsliger), his daughters Denise Gauthier (Mike) of Mitchell and Michele Gauthier (Frederic) of Mitchell, his three grandchildren Krystal, Amber, and Benjamin, his great-grandchildren Aubrey, Allie, and Islay, his brothers Raymond, Sanford, Andrew, Eugene, Hubert, Walter, Jr., Louis, and Danny, as well as his sisters Rita, Cecile and Dorina.
Marie Elizabeth (Duguay) Savoie
Marie Elizabeth (Duguay) Savoie, at the age of 93, surrounded by her family, peacefully passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 2nd, 2017. Born in Bathurst on June 29th 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles Duguay and the late Elisa Lanteigne.
In her younger years, Elizabeth was an active member of the CWL and later was named an honorary member.
She loved to read, travel, knit, play bingo, listen to music and enjoyed a good game of cards. Elizabeth was passionate about family, loved to visit and always made it a point to keep in touch.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Horace, daughter Kathleen, brother Eric, sisters Dora, Dorina, and Olla.
She is survived by sons Kenny (Dawn) Dalhousie, Don (Marie Paule) Moncton and daughter Judy (Clair Smith) Charlottetown, sisters Georgette of Montreal, Stella of Vancouver, a brother Omer (Jeannette) of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. She was "Nan" to her nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Vincent Hickey
The death of Vincent Hickey of Lorne occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 30th, 2017 at the age of 87. Born in Lorne, he was the son of the late Vincent and Mary Jane (Carrier) Hickey.
Vincent is survived by his children Donald (Shirley) of Lorne, Catherine Hickey of Lorne, Neil of Lorne, Donna Hickey (Elissa) of Fredericton, Kim Hickey (Jason) of Lorne, Keith (Justine) of Lorne, as well as his long-time friend Betty Hennigar. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters Opal and Rita, and brothers Alfie and Thomas. He was predeceased by his wife Anita (Furlotte), sisters Hilda, Bernice, Ruby, Bertha, and Eva, and brothers Allie, Freddy, Edmond, and William.
Dr. Surya Master
Passed away at his residence on June 1st, 2017 at the age of 88, Dr. Surya Master of Campbellton.
It was an honor and a privilege to serve the wonderful members of this community.

Julia Lapointe
The death of Julia Lapointe of Gravel Hill occurred on Saturday, June 10th, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 82. Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret (Carrier) O'Brien.
Julia is survived by her husband of 63 years Leonard, children Oliver (Cathy) of Lorne, Clarence (Brenda) of Moncton, Eugene (Marsha) of Lorne, Connie Godin (Perry) of Lorne, Debbie Lapointe of Dalhousie, Claude (Shelly) of P.E.I., Frank (Mariette) of Gravel Hill, Stella Lapointe (Eldon) of Lorne, Alfred (Kathy) of Gravel Hill, Leonard (Teala) of North Tetagouche, her sisters Lorraine Godin and Lynn Doucet, her brother Alphie O'Brien, as well as her 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings Hilda, Norman, Delphis and Fabien.
Annette Savoie
Wednesday, June 7th, 2017 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 80, passed away Mrs. Annette Savoie of the Campbellton Village Nursing Home and formerly of Atholville, wife of the late Donald Savoie. She was the daughter of the late Lola (born Lajoie dit Lashway) and the late Edgar Thibodeau.
She will be sadly missed by her son Luc (Chantal Comeau) of Atholville; her daughter Denise of Campbellton; her granddaughters: Sarah and Erica; her brothers and sisters: Ronald Thibodeau (late Madeleine) of Campbellton, Thérèse Renault of Campbellton, Alma Paradis (late Mathias) of Dalhousie, Lorraine Brander (late James) of Pointe la Nim, Exilia Dale Savoie (Normand) of Atholville, Pierrette Crowley (Jack) of Campbellton, Albert Thibodeau (Linda) of Moncton, George Thibodeau (Judith) of Atholville and Georgette Spencer (Randy) of Fredericton also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Donald, her parents, her sister Jean and her brother Raymond.
Cyrille Goudreau
Thursday, June 15th, 2017 at his residence of Pointe–à–la–Croix, at the age of 56, passed away Cyrille Goudreau. He was the son of Mrs. Antoinette D’Amour and the late Rémi Goudreau.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved mother Antoinette D’Amour Goudreau; his brothers and sisters: Michel (Mary Lou Ruet) of Pointe–à–la–Croix, Julie (Rodrigue Guitard) of Pointe–à–la–Croix, Hélène (John Courty) of Moncton, Juliette (Jean–Yves Normandeau) of Lévis and Daniel (Faith) of Pointe–du–Chêne also by many nieces, nephews, sisters–in–law, brothers–in–law and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Rémi, his sister Claudette (Gerry Duguay), his brothers: Antoine and Robert (Suzette Ouellette).
Beatrice Thomas
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 16, 2017 at the age of 89, Mrs. Beatrice (Robertson) Thomas of Campbellton and formerly of New Richmond, QC, wife of the late Joseph Thomas. Born in New Richmond, QC on February 28, 1928, daughter of the late William Robertson and the late Marguerite Poirier.
She is survived by her children, Iris (Doucet) of Glen Levit, Dennis Thomas of Fredericton, Peggy Thomas of Campbellton, Ted Thomas of Kentville, Nova Scotia, daughter-in-law Ida Thomas of Campbellton and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her oldest son Charles Thomas.
Austin Brimsacle
The death of Austin Brimsacle of Archibald occured at the Cardiology Institute in Quebec City on June 14, 2017 at the age of 66. Born in Sunnyside, he was the son of the late Percy and Thelma (Devereaux) Brimsacle.
Austin is survived by his longtime friend Audrey Doyle; Daughters Peggy Brimsacle (Marvin) of Maria, Quebec and Barbara Brimsacle of Bathurst; Grandchildren Brittany, Alishia, Trisha, Katrina; Great-granddaughters Haylee and Khalika as well as his siblings Marjorie, Bobby, Barbara and Alex. He was predeceased by his sisters Ida and Marilyn.
Hector Lanteigne
The death of Hector Lanteigne of Petit Rocher and formerly of Belledune occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 88. Born in Benjamin River, he was the son of the late Alphonse and Annie (Pitre) Lanteigne.
Pete, as he was commonly known was a long time employee of Brunswick Smelter workng as a heavy equipment operator.The woods was his second home where he enjoyed so much his time fishing and hunting.
Pete is survived by his wife of 66 years Ethel (Furlong); sons Thomas (Patty Ann) of Tabusintac and John Carl (Tammy) of New Mills; daughters Mary Goodbout (Norman) of Beresford, Elaine Lanteigne (Howard) of Bathurst, Mary Catherine Scheldon (Gordie) of Oregan, Myrtle Coakley (Andrew) of Fort McMurray as well as his 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and sisters Margaret, Elizabeth, Patricia and Louise.He was predeceased by his brothers Alphonse, Bert, Gilbert,Leonard, Elric, Alex, Edgar, Adrien and sisters Theresa, Evangeline and Doreen.
Annette Beaulieu
Monday June 19th, 2017 at her residence at the age of 76, passed away Mrs. Annette Beaulieu of the Campbellton Village Nursing Home and formerly of Atholville. She was the daughter of the late Marie (born Martin) and the late Kingsley Beaulieu.
She will be sadly missed by her sisters and brothers: Grace (Late Jacques Lemieux) of Baie Comeau, Stella of Dalhousie, Robert (Shirley Barthe) of Malauze, Edward (Secunda Savoie) of Dalhousie and Suzanne (Roger Cormier) of Atholville also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Yvon and her sisters Claudia and Charline.
Lydia Murray
Passed away at the Village Nursing Home surrounded by her family, on Wednesday June 21st, 2017, Mrs. Lydia “B” Murray of Robinsonville, wife of the late Allan Murray. Born in Robinsonville on September 17th, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Jane Harris and of the late Hudson Firth.
Lydia was the Postmaster of the Robinsonville Post Office for 44 years, was a member of many organizations and was an active member of her community. A member of St. John’s United Church, Robinsonville, belonged to Business Professional Women’s Club, Canada Post Heritage Club, Robinsonville Senior’s Club and numerous other organizations and clubs.
She is survived by her daughters Linda McIntyre (Allan) of New Maryland, NB, and Sandra Murray of Calgary, AB, her brother Edward Firth and her sister Mona Murray (Roy) both of Robinsonville. She is also survived by her granddaughter Patricia Tremblay (Mark), great–granddaughters Sara, Emily and Molly McIntyre, great–great–granddaughter Aubree Underhill and great–grandsons Thomas and William Tremblay.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son Earl Murray, granddaughter Deborah McIntyre, sisters Mary Fredericks, Vera Jones and her brothers Ninian Firth and Albert Firth.
