Edgar Landry
Tuesday, April 19th, 2016 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 82, passed away Mr. Edgar R. Landry of the Darlington Manor, husband of the late Henriette (Losier) Landry. He was the son of the late Arthémise (Vienneau) and the late John Landry.
He will be sadly missed by his sons: Yvon Guy (Darlene) of Dalhousie, Maurice (Joanne) of Balmoral and Gino (Debbie) of Ottawa; his granddaughters: Anne-Renée, Myriam, Renée-Louise and Sarah; his sisters: Aline (Jerry Burk) of Dalhousie and Jeannette (Damien Benoit) of Sheila; his brother Marc Landry of Dalhousie also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Henrietta, his son Robert, his parents, his brothers and sisters: Benoit, Raymond "Jack", Wilfred, Roger, Thérèse and Jeannine
Norman Arseneault
Wednesday, May 4 th , 2016 at his residence, at the age of 86, passed away Mr. Norman Arseneault of Atholville, husband of Mrs. Adélia (Lagacé) Arseneault. He was the son of the late Zita (Gallant) and the late Frank Arseneault.
Besides his wife Adélia, he will be sadly missed by his children: Raymond (Line Gagnon) of Atholville, Carole (Roland "Babe" LeBlanc) of Tide Head, Pierre (Lise Barthelotte) of Atholville and Louise of Miramichi; his grandchildren : Véronique, Christina, Jason, Jean-René, Daniel, Devan and Arun; his great grandchildren : Rose, William, Peyton, Cédrik and Jade; his brothers and sisters: Arthur (Isobel) of Atholville, Robert "Bobby" (Yolande) of Moncton, Léona (Robert Maranda) of Montréal, Bertha (Ken Gallie) of Dalhousie and Rita of Dalhousie also by many members of the Lagacé family, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Réginald and sisters Victoria and Évangeline.
Helen Legacy
The death of Helen Legacy of Belledune occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Sunday, May 08, 2016 at the age of 92. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Dora (Couture) Legacy.
Helen is survived by her children; Edward (Bernice) of Beresford, Dorothy Carbno (Gary) of Fredericton, Percy (Theresa) of Lorne, Tony (Debbie) of New Mills, Yvette Legacy of Belledune, Diane Legacy (Wayne) of Belledune, 13 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren as well as her brother Donald and daughter in law Diana.She was predeceased by her husband Leo; son Albert and son in law Walter.
Layne Godin
The death of Layne Godin of Lorne occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Sunday, May 08, 2016 at the age of 65. Born in Lorne, he was the son of the late Oswald and Mathilda (Furlotte) Godin.
Layne is survived by his adopted son Lee LaPointe; four grandchildren; siblings Wayde of Belledune, Lloyd (Dale) of Nash Creek, Ida of Dalhousie, Charlene (Mark) of Lorne, Wyatt of Alberta, Joshua (Tracy) of Alberta; 7 nieces and nephews, 16 great nieces and nephews as well as 3 great great nieces and nephews.
Ethel Morris
The death of Ethel Morris of Dalhousie occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Sunday, May 08, 2016 at the age of 89. Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Nora (Valdron) Morris.
She had been an employee at Rexall pharmacy in Dalhousie for many years, then retired to take care of her mother.
Ethel is survived by her sister Kay Beckingham of Hamilton, ON. as well as several nieces, nephews and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Hugh and Chester Morris and sister Gladys Morris.
Leonard Legacy
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 7 at the age of 93, Mr. Leonard Legacy of Richardsville, born on August 19, 1922 in Bathurst, NB to the late Edith and late Henri Legacy.
At the age of 19 Leonard enlisted in the army as a gunner. He spent 4 ½ years in the European campaign in WWII. After the war, he worked in the mines and logging industry for several years. He then worked for the Butternut Bakery for 15 years and drove taxi until his retirement. Leonard was an avid sports enthusiast all his life. His enthusiasm and passion for sports and life was second to none. His last accomplishment was at the age of 90 where he climbed the Sugarloaf Mountain with many of his family members.
He is survived by his wife Andrea, 9 children and spouses, Paul, (Tracey), Gary, Mark, Craig, Jimmy, (Lucy), Joan, (Bill) Bruce and Pauline, (Tim) and brothers and sisters, Benoit, William, Edward, and Ernest. Leonard had 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Paula, his brothers George, Henry, Doug, Adelore, and sisters Teresa, and Jeannine.
Ronald "Ronnie" Harper
Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Maria Hospital, at the age of 65, passed away Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Harper of Escuminac. He was the son of the late Irene Pitre and the late Robert Harper.
He will be sadly missed by his brother Darry (Sally Harris) of Escuminac; his sister Sylvia (Kirk Lemaitre) of Escuminac; his nieces and nephew: Susan, Molly and Daniel and Danile's children Declyn and Dominick also by many cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents and his aunt Anne Trusler.
Lucien Savoie
Friday, May 13th, 2016 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 72, passed away Mr. Lucien Savoie of Campbellton, husband of the late Joyce Woodworth. He was the son of the late Catherine (Durette) and the late Honoré Savoie.
He will be sadly missed by his sons: Bruno (Sylvie) of Campbellton, Tomie (Sakda) of Vancouver and Paul of Campbellton; his granddaughter Valerie (Marc-André) and his upcoming great-granddaughter Elodie; his sisters & brothers: Yvette of Eel River Crossing, Yvon (Yvonne) of Balmoral, Jean-Guy (Clare) of Dundee, Raymond (Pierrette) of Dundee, Richard of Dundee, Monique (Charlie) of Florida, Denis (Micheline) of Quebec and Marthe of Dundee also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Joyce, his parents, his sister Gisele and his brother Pierre.
Christopher John Archibald
It is with great sadness that the family of Christopher John Archibald announce his sudden passing on May 9th, 2016 at the age of 63 while visiting Conakry, Guinea Africa.
He was born in Campbellton on November 29th, 1952 and raised in Flatlands. He was the son of the late John Archibald and survived by his loving mother Joyce (Boudreau) Archibald. Chris was a son, father, grandfather, a friend, a flatlander and a world traveller who always had the courage to chase his dreams. He made friends all over the world with his infectious spirit and zest for life. His laugh and sense of humour is one of legends-he will be so greatly missed.
Chris is survived by his three children Lisa Brown (Alex) from Calgary Alberta, Sarah Archibald from Roberts Creek, British Columbia and Patrick Belanger from Quebec; grandchildren Shyne and Stella and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Lydia Godin
The death of Lydia Godin of Lorne occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Friday, May 06, 2016 at the age of 88.Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Beatrice (Carrier) Doucet.
Lydia is survived by her daughter Janice Carrier of Bathurst; son Dean of Bathurst and granddaughter Shelley Carrier as well as her brother Lloyd and sisters Adelaide Duplessis and Rita Bennett. She was predeceased by her husband Delphis; daughter Gail and granddaughter Gisele Godin.
John Angus McRae
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on May 21, 2016 at the age of 76, Mr. John Angus McRae of Campbellton. Born in Campbellton December 5th, 1939, son of the late Angus and Christine McRae.
A teacher of 29 years at the Campbellton Junior High School, he also held the position of vice principal until his retirement.
He was an avid fisherman and fly tier, and enjoyed spending time fishing the pools at Tide Head Beach as well as the Boom House in Atholville.
He is survived by his loving companion Loretta; his son Terry (Cathy) of Ottawa; son Stephen (Theresa) of Belleville; son Bryce (Tina) of Moncton; his daughter Shelley (Robert) Mills of Saint John; daughter Krista (Greg) Graham of Aurora; Laurie McRae of Dieppe and Stacy McRae of Campbellton (Scott Walsh); sisters Edith and Irma and brother Cameron as well as his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother William and sister Agnes.
William Neil (Bill) Nichol
As we announce the passing of William Neil (Bill) Nichol of Charlo, we the Family are saddened but grateful to have had him with us all these years. Bill passed away at his home in Charlo on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the age of 94 yrs 9 months. Born in Blackland August 15, 1921, he was the son of the late James Alexander and Sarah Bertha ( Hamilton ) Nichol.
Bill, a veteran of Fifth Canadian Anti-Tank Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery as a tank driver took part in the Liberation of Holland where he formed life-long friendship visiting Holland for the 50th Anniversary renewing the friendships made during the war.
Graduating from a Sheet Metal Course he worked in a Can. Car & Foundry in Amherst, N.S. before joining the Army in 1942, following his return to civilian life in 1946 Bill taught school, MacMillans Store and Post Office and NBIP Co. until his retirement in 1982.
Bill was an active member of Zion United Church, taught Sunday School and a member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Joyce (Hamilton) , Daughters Brenda Nichol, Halifax, N.S. Margaret Yeo, (Fenton), Macklin, SK and son-in -law James Oakes, Penticton, B.C. Grandchildren Neil Ault, Bedford, N.S. Marc Ault (Julie), Fort St. John, B.C. Andy Oakes (Tanya), Penticton, B.C. Tim Oakes ( Tari ) Nanaimo, B.C., Christopher Yeo (Simone), Saskatoon, SK., Beverly Yeo, Provost, Alberta, James Yeo, Lloydminster, Alberta. Great Grandchildren Liam & Luke Ault, Fort St. John, B.C. Isaac & Ethan Ault, Bedford, N.S. Emily & Abby Oakes, Penticton, B.C. Hunter & Ryder Oakes, Nanaimo, B.C. Claire & Evalyn Yeo, Saskatoon, S.K.
Bill was the last surviving member of his Family predeceased by his daughter Barbara Oakes, his parents, brothers Sterling, Stanley, Charlie, Kenneth, Allan, Ernest and Alex, sisters Holly, Nettie, Beth and Lillian.
Bill enjoyed life helping others, his flowers, gardening, fishing and hunting a wonderful husband , father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, uncle and great uncle, he will be missed by many.
Roderick "Rod" Benoit Woods
Rod suddenly passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst on May 15th, 2016 at the age of 70, Mr. Roderick "Rod" Benoit Woods of Dalhousie. Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Laura (Guimond) Wood and the late Colin Wood.
Rod loved being surrounded by people and contributing to his community. In his late teens Rod helped form and became President of the Purple Haze Youth Club, the Club helped raise money for the St Joseph Hospital to buy equipment for the blind and other organizations. Purple Haze became very popular at the time for the teens. Rod also worked as produce manager and went on to the Chaleur Inn and worked as a bartender.
He is survived by two sisters: Julienne Guitard (Conrad) of Petit-Rocher, Therese (Marc McIntyre) of Charlo.
Three brothers: Donald (Jean Babin) of Moncton, Raymond (Helena Paschal) of Moncton, Lawrence (Larry) of Dalhousie and many nieces and nephews.
Eva (LeBlanc) Levesque
Passed away at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on May 19, 2016 at the age of 95, Mrs. Eva (LeBlanc) Levesque of Dalhousie. Born in Four Roads, NB, she was the daughter of the late Zephirin LeBlanc and the late Suzanne Gagnon.
She leaves behind her children: Simonne LeClair (Ralph) of Dalhousie, Suzanne Ferlatte of Quebec and Raymond Levesque of Dalhousie, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her sisters: Jeanne, Lucienne and Cecile. She was predeceased by her husband Lucien Levesque and her daughter Marie-Reine.
Richard Blair Arseneau
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Blair Arseneau, on April 14, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 57. Born and raised in Glencoe, NB, Ricky attended Campbellton High School before relocating to the Greater Toronto Area in the late 1970's where he became a licensed mechanic and bodyman. He remained true to his native Glencoe where he returned yearly to vacation with family and friends.
He is deeply mourned by his beloved father, Charles Arseneau, Glencoe, his sisters: Phyllis Vautour (Paul Smith), Dieppe, Elaine Wheeler (John), Alliston, Ontario, Gina Matheson (Darren), Miramichi, his brother-in-law, Gerald LeBrun and his longtime friend, Joe Lanteigne.
A kind and generous man, he was Uncle Ricky to: Nicole & Claude Vautour, Johnny, Jeffrey & Greg Wheeler, Jamie & Jenny LeBrun, Jason, Glenn & Justin Arseneau, and Cameron & Carlee Matheson.
He was pre-deceased by his mother, Margaret (2010), his brother Lewis (2011) and his sister Marjorie (2011).
Doug MacCurdy
The death of Doug MacCurdy of Black Point occurred peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family Friday, May 13, 2016 at the age of 68. Born in Black Point, he was the son of the late Byron and Gertha (Hornibrook) MacCurdy.
Doug is survived by his wife Carol; daughter Laurie MacCurdy (Jody) of North Tetagouche; stepson Andre Denomme (Carole) of Montreal; grandchildren Taylor, Jeff and Sebastien; sisters Mary Doskas and Kathy Vincent as well as his brother Ian Miller. He was predeceased by his brother Willard and sister Mary.
