Romeo Guitard
Friday, July 28th, 2017 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 75 with his family by his side, passed away Mr. Romeo Guitard of Campbellton, husband of Mrs. Dale (Main) Guitard.
He will be forever missed by his wife Dale and his family: Norm (Cindy), Jason (Wanda), Sherry (Denis) and his grandchildren: Vanessa, Cayden and Caleb also by many nephews, nieces and friends also his fur babies: Sandy and Muffin.
Roger Santerre
Passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at the Village Nursing Home, Campbellton N.B., on July 26th, 2017 at the age of 91, Mr. Roger SANTERRE of Campbellton, husband of Bernadette (Donavan) Santerre. Born in Balmoral on July 23, 1926, son of the late Alphonse Santerre and the late Osevina (Savoie) Santerre.
In his early youth Roger SANTERRE worked for the Dalhousie Pulp and Paper Mill and the Canadian National Railway (CNR) before becoming a Driver Examiner in Campbellton and later taking on the Regional Supervisor role overseeing all Driver Examiners across the Miramichi to Grand Falls regions. Roger was recognized for his commitment and dedication to many community organizations in Campbellton and the province of N.B., and in particular to his devotion to the United Commercial Travellers (UCT) Association where he received a lifetime member status; his leadership in fund-raising and support of the UCT workshop for people with intellectual disabilities, and his years of pastoral care services to both, Church and Hospitals. Roger was the recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Volunteer Award (2012) and the Rotary Club Paul Harris Award.
Roger is survived by his loving wife Bernadette (Donavan) Santerre; his daughter Mary-Theresa (Santerre) (and Jean) Mainville of Ottawa, ON; and 3 sons; Jack (Kathy) of North Bay, ON, Paul (Shelley) of Toronto, ON, Raymond (Pauline) of Campbellton, N.B.; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Santerre-Smith, Michael (Josée), Eric (Isabelle), François (Véronik), Meagan (Michael), Kelsey, Jolène and Thomas (Anne); and 6 great-grandchildren, Courtney, Marc, Kaden, Julianna, Jackson and Vincent; his Sister Marthe (Santerre) Blanchet; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, brothers and sisters (Anne, Georgette, Gisèle, Pat, Guy, Celine), Roger was predeceased by his son, Marc Santerre.
Wanda Murray
Passed away at the Campbellton Nursing Home on July 27th, 2017 at the age of 92, Mrs. Wanda Murray of Glencoe, wife of the late Simon Murray. Born in Campbellton on July 6, 1925, daughter of the late Robert Babcock and the late Hazel Babcock.
Wanda was a member of St. Anthony's CWL for over 50 years. During those years she filled the position of president twice as well as other executive positions and always remained active until the last few years.
She is survived by her children Mrs. Gordon Harris (Mona) of Atholville, Brenda Murray of Glencoe, Mrs. Carl Dobson (Lorraine) of Campbellton, Robert Murray (Christine Nazair) of Glencoe, Dennis Murray (Elmeda) of Glencoe and Danny Murray (Eldora/ DoDo) of Atholville, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Robert & Hazel Babcock, her husband Simon Murray, her son Allan, her half-brothers Fraser, Elmer and Billy, one full brother Gordon, and her half-sisters Elva Mann, Gladys MacDavid, and Aulder McLellan.
Funeral mass was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton N.B., on Tuesday August 1st 2017 at 11:00 am.
Pallbearers will be the three sons, Robert, Dennis & Danny, grandson Mark Murray, great-grandchild Spencer Murray & neighbour Steven Malley.
Maxine Helen (Ross) Bain
Peacefully at her home on July 27, 2017, passed away at the age of 84, Maxine Helen (Ross) Bain. She was the daughter of the late John B. Ross and the late Olive J. Charlong of Campbellton, NB.
She leaves to mourn three brothers; Jackson at home, Daryl (Tammy) of Campbellton and Barry of Glencoe, NB, also two sisters; Shirley MacKinnon of Campbellton and Marion Cavanaugh (Alan) of Moncton, NB. There are also many nieces, nephews and friends.
Maxine worked for CN for many years; she loved gardening and genealogy.
Clarence (Clemmy) Clements
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital (Veterans ward) on August 2nd, 2017 at the amazing age of 99, Mr. Clarence (Clemmy) Clements of Campbellton, husband of the late Avis (Anderson) Clements. Born in Campbellton on June 12th, 1918, son of the late John Clements and the late Caecilia Theriault of Grande-Anse, NB.
Clemmy worked for A.H. English as a plumber for approximately 35 years until retirement. He was a Veteran of the Second World War serving his country in Italy, France and Germany as a member of the Army's First Division. Clemmy was also an avid Campbellton Tigers fan attending most games and also a die-hard fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.
He leaves behind his daughter Gayle (John Bouthillier) Wright of Bathurst, his son John (Jake) Clements of Riverview, his son Peter Clements of Campbellton and daughter Sally (Roger) Clements-Drapeau of Campbellton, his grandchildren: Debbie, Kellie, Vanessa and Natasha; his great-grandchildren Jordan & Taylor and Kyla & Alyssa. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Scott, brothers Leo and Whitney Payne and by his sister Stella Payne Firlotte.
Doreen Silliker
With profound sadness the family of Doreen Silliker announces her passing on August 5, 2017 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.
Born on April 16, 1935 in Sillikers, she was the daughter of William Silliker and Florence Conroy.
Doreen moved to Campbellton after completing Teacher's College in 1954 and spent the next 38 years educating the young people of the area; long after her retirement, she would meet former students who always remembered her and some ended up looking after her in the hospital.
She leaves behind to mourn her daughter Fran (Stephen) Pond of Doaktown, her son Bill (Dana) Maltais of Tide Head, her sister Frances (Bill) Harris of Sevogle and her brothers Jim (Betty) Silliker of Red Bank, Jack (Laney) Silliker of Sillikers and Fred (Kathy) Silliker of Miramichi and the father of her children, Leonard Maltais. Also left behind are her grandsons, who she adored, Bradley (Selina) Pond of Doaktown and Ellis Pond of Doaktown and one precious great-grandson Hudson Pond of Doaktown.
William Snyder
William Snyder of Dalhousie passed away suddenly on August 6th, 2017 at the age of 79. Born in Jacquet River, he was the son of the late Calvin and Genevieve (Roy) Snyder.
When Bill was young, he loved to go fishing at the creek in Jacquet River. In Dalhousie, Bill could be seen walking or bicycling with his little dog (who was dressed for every occasion) and with a pocketful of treats for any dogs he would meet along the way. Bill always loved a good (or a bad) joke. He also loved live music and would sing along to old country and bluegrass tunes, especially with family.
Bill is survived by his daughters Denise Snyder (Doug Skelly) of Whitby, Ontario and Marlene Snyder (Gary Johnson) of Oshawa, Ontario, his grandchildren Kyle Bruinsma and Emma Skelly, as well as his siblings Mary-Jean Gauthier, Theresa McDonnell, Louis Snyder and George Snyder. He was predeceased by his brothers Carl and Charlie.
Adonia Beckingham
The death of Adonia Beckingham of Dalhousie occurred Saturday, August 12th, 2017 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 102. Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Carrier) Letourneau.
Adonia is survived by her children Mona Moore (Bob) of Fredericton, Donna Brun of Mississauga, John (Judy) of Dalhousie, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, as well as her great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband William (Mack), son Errol, brothers Alan, Lawrence, Osbourne, and Frank.
Irene Fraser
The death of Irene Fraser occurred at the Hospice House, Fredericton, on Sunday, August 13th, 2017 at the age of 93. Born in Val d’Amour, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Armance (Albert) Savoie.
She is survived by her husband Jack Fraser, her children Bobby (Fern) of Bathurst, Aurele (Linda) of Jacquet River, Joyce LaPointe (Claude) of New Mills, Jane Wellman (Barry) of Oromocto, Judy Spurrell (Garfield) of Belledune, stepchildren Steven, Keith, Jeannie, Larry, and Peter, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as several brothers and sisters.
She was predeceased by her first husband Raymond Furlotte.
Charles Theriault
Saturday, August 12th, 2017 at the Moncton Georges L. Dumont Hospital, at the age of 67, passed away Mr. Charles Thériault of Campbellton, husband of Mrs. Raymonde (born Savoie) Thériault. He was the son of the late Winnifred (born Ouellette) and the late Émile Thériault.
Beside his wife Raymonde, he will be sadly missed by his daughter Chantal Savoie of Moncton; his granddaughter Jessica Savoie of Moncton; his brothers and sisters: Régis "Bébé" of Campbellton, Jean-Paul (Gertrude) of Thunder Bay, ON, Réjean of Moncton, Stéphane of Moncton, Nicole (Delphez Fallue) of Dundee, Colette (Roger Cyr) of Restigouche-Sud-Est Qc. and Suzanne (Eugène Joncas) of Eel River Crossing also by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Marcelle and his brothers?Michel and Roland.
Jacqueline Caissy
Passed away at the Village Nursing Home on August 9, 2017 at the age of 89, Mrs. Jacqueline Caissy of Campbellton, wife of the late Louis Caissy. Jacqueline "Jackie" was born in Atholville, NB, on June 26, 1928, daughter of the late Esther (Doucet) and the late George Hachey.
She is survived by her daughters Dianne Berthelot (Pierre), Atholville and Louise Caissy, Campbellton as well as two grandchildren Eric and Amanda (Toronto). She is survived by her twin sister, Adeline Mills (Toronto). She was predeceased by her sisters Donia Balm (George) and Eva Millis (Walter) as well as her brothers Edward (Virginia), Ralph (Geneva), John (Eleanor), Edgar "Giddy" and Lionel.
Sheila (Hamilton) Trefzger
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sheila (Hamilton) Trefzger announce her passing on Sunday, August 6, 2017. Sheila, born in Campbellton, NB, was predeceased by her parents Anita and Ralph Hamilton, and her brother Robert James Hamilton.
Loving wife of Gerd Trefzger, Sheila was an outstanding parent to Lisa (Trefzger) Clarke and the best Nana Banana to grandchildren Aidan and Cohen Clarke.
A gifted teacher, Mrs. Trefzger made a huge impact on the lives of many elementary students in Scarborough, ON. Sheila will be missed by her mother–in–law Ruth Trefzger, all her family, and her dear friends. She was the host with the most and made every newcomer to a space feel welcome; her smile, sense of humour, baking and dance moves will be sadly missed.
Elwyn S. Willett
Elwyn S. Willett, 80 of K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday August 12, 2017.
Born in Broadlands, Quebec, he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Firlotte) Willett. Elwyn retired from Goodyear Tire with 25 years’ service and was the founder of Willett’s Moving & Cartage (Mississauga, ON). He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching hockey (unfortunately the Toronto Maple Leafs), playing crib, and tinkering in his garage.
Elwyn will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Crandleen (Irvine) Willett of Riverview; children, Tammy Willett and Kenneth Willett, both of Mississauga, ON and Brady Willett (Hope) of Moncton; grandchildren, Steven, Nicole, Abbygail and Maggie; sister, Lyda Hannom; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Lorna Babcock and Ivy Municker, and brother, Donald Willett.
Tom Bernatchez
The death of Tom Bernatchez of Dalhousie occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Friday, August18, 2017 at the age of 71. Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Isidore and Melvina (Doyle) Bernatchez.
Tom is survived by his wife Bernadette, daughter Shelley Bernatchez (Martin) of Dalhousie, son Serge (Gail) of Dalhousie, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as his sisters Shirley St. Onge, Connie Allain, Judy Beckingham, and brothers Doug, Paul and Peter.
Burns Anderson

Loving grandfather of John David and Daniel. Loving brother of Geneva Piccoli of Barrie, ON, Elizabeth Cooling of Campbellton, NB, Douglas of Brampton, Keith of Campbellford, ON and the late Grant Wesley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy Carmichael
The death of Dorothy Carmichael of Archibald occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the age of 90. Born in Archibald she was the daughter of the late Mary Carmichael.
Dorothy was a lifetime member of the U.C.W., she loved to laugh and play cards and will be greatly missed by her many friends and relatives.
She is survived by several cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Nova and brother Gordon.
James "Jimmy" Grimes
Passed away at the Village Nursing Home in Campbellton on August 15th, 2017 at the age of 79, Mr. James "Jimmy" Grimes of Campbellton, husband of the late Glenda (Murray) Grimes. Born in Campbellton on February 11, 1938, he was the son of the late Matthew Grimes and of the late Stella Parker.
He worked most of his adult life at Lounsbury's Garage in Campbellton; his later years, worked in maintenance at the Village Senior Home. He was a very strong hockey fan.
He is survived by his sister Barbara (Yvan) Moore of Garson, ON and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Glenda (Murray) Grimes, his brothers Eddy of Montreal, Marty and Donald of ON.
