Murray Anderson

The death of Murray Anderson of Charlo occurred at his home on Sunday February 10, 2013 at the ageof 96. Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late Edard and Edith (Nichol) Anderson.

He started his working career at a young age at Oliver Dewar's in Campbellton and then at MacMillan's Wholesale in Jacquet River. He then enlisted with the Royal Canadian Air Force. After the Second World War he started sellng life insurance and in later Years added general insurance, joining with a partner to establish Anderson & Lake Insurance. Murray was very involved in the church as an elder, treasurer as well as sitting on several other boards. He was a Mason, a Rotarian who received the Paul Harris Award, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and served on the Charlo Village Council. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. Murray was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Murray is survived by his wife Ann; daughters Joan Petersen (Manley) of Charlo, Marlene Brimsacle (Don) of Charlo; son Wayne (Lise) of Wassaga Beach, ON; foster daughter Bernice Miller (Jack) of Quispamsis; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren as well as his sisters Charlotte Renault and Joan Ramsay and brother Nigel. He was predeceased by his sister Mary.

"Jack" Robert Archibald

Campbellton - John "Kack" Robert Archibald, 80, passed away February 18, 2013 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Born at Head of Tide, June 29, 1932, he was a son of the late Earl and Stella (Porter) Archibald.

Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Olive Ann (Butler) Archibald; four children, John (Kathy), of Tide Head, Carol-Ann (Glen Lyons) of Fredericton, Margaret (Eric Bishop) and Marjorie (Mark Jewell) both of Edmonton, AB., five grgandchildren, Scott McRae (Nalin) of Fredericton, Heather Dawn Archibald (Trevor), Nicolas Jewell (Kaitlyn) of Edmonton, Jennifer Archibald of Tide Head, Caitlin Jewell of Edmonton and Step-grandson Gefen Bishop of Edmonton; three brothers Donald (Barb) of Miramichi, Leland (Audrey) of Oromocto and Gary (Cathy) of Dalhousie; cousins Ronald (Ruth) Kierstead of Miramichi and Gail (Ian) Neilson of Gagetown.

In addition to his parents, Jack was also predeceased by his brother, Gordon (1962), daughter Mary Catherine (1969) and his father-in-law (Chummie) Butler (1973)

Jackie was a lifelong resident of Tide Head. He worked for 20 years as Journeyman Electrician for Fraser's Paper Inc., in Atholville. Marrying his childhood sweetheart Olive Ann, in 1955, Jackie cherished every moment he could share with his children, grandchildren, siblings and extended family, spending time fishing, hunting, trapping, tapping trees, studying the stars and enjoying the wondrous nature all around him.

In 1968, he entered the teaching profession as a generalist at Campbellton Composite High School. In 1973, he became Vocational Department Head at Restigouche Senior High School, later becoming Vice Principal and Acting Principal of Sugarloaf Senior High School. He was an active member of the New Brunswick Teacher's Association, both locally and provincially, and was a Reading Mentor after retirement at the Juniper Elementary School.

Jackie loved sports, playing hockey and baseball as a youngster, later coaching the Tide Head Falcons Hockey and Baseball teams. There are many fond memories of him flooding the ice at the old rink, sometimes doing so at 3 am before heading to his shift at the mill. When Jackie wasnt coaching he could be found refereeing a hockey game or announcing a baseball game. A strong supporter of extra-curricular activities such as sports, music, etc., he believed that such involvement led to well rounded students and responsible community members. He was instrumental in building the Tide Head Recreation Centre, wanting nothing but the best for the kids from the Village of Tide Head.

In later years he served as a Tide Head Municipal Councillor, and was appointed to the New Brunswick Protestant Orphanage Foundation as a representative, sitting on the Board for a number of years. He was an active member of the Restigouche and NB Provincial Liberal Associations, as well as, the NB Trappers Association and the local Audubon Society. For many years, Jackie supported and sat on the Executive of the Restigouche Music Festival Committee as Treasurer.

Beginning in 1992, Jackie and Olive Ann served the following Pastoral Charges within the United Church of Canada; Glassville-Juniper, Douglastown, Escuminac (PQ) New Mills, Blackville, and Metis-Leggatts Pointe (PQ). Making lasting friendships whever he went, Jackie embraced his love of nature through gardening, woodworking and dong his part to protect the environment. He loved his walks to the river, trips to the family camp, the campfires at Odell Park, introducing his grandkids to his love of nature, long conversations with his children and grandchildren, mentoring teachers and keeping in touch with old friends. He will be greatly missed by Olive and the kids, his brothers and their families and many close friends and acquaintances.

Margaret Eva Deurloo
1921-2013

Mararet Eva (McGaghey - nee Letrouneau) Deurloo assed on to her Heavenly Home, peacefully at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on February 14, 2013 at the age of 92.

Cherished mother of the late Peter McGaghey (Brenda), Neil McGaghey, Glen McGaghey (Donna), Nancie Harrison (Bill), Robert McGaghey (Donna) and Debbie McGaghey (Brian), Special grandmother of Angela, Tishja, Ben, Sheryl, Derek, Sarah, Noel, Emily, Bryce, Andrea and seven great-grandchildren.

Sister of the late Bernie, Olive of Dalhousie the late Alvin, Violet of Vancouver, B.C., Eleanor of Burnaby B.C., Donald of Dalholusie, Jean of Victoria B.C., Ralph of Dalhousie , the late Christina, the late Cecilia, the late Doris, David of Dalhousie, Gloria of Dalhousie and Kevin of Campbellton, Eva will also be sadly missed by her good friend Don Kerr.

Born in January 4, 1921, in Dalhousie to the late Hilson and Violet Letourneau.

Eva was a veteran of World War two, serving as a Corporal with the Canadian Women's Army. Cremation has taken place.

Gloria Jean Coes

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gloria Jean Coes (Robinson), 81, of Dalhousie Junction. Gloria passed away February 21, 2013 on the palliative care unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital.

She was born in Campbellton on May 14, 1931 to the late Jasper and Ruby Robinson. Gloria was married to Charles William Coes in 1954.

She is survived by her husband Charles Coes of Dalhousie Junction, their four children Brenda of Saint John, NB, William (Flora) of Dalhousie Junction and Bradford (Shaneen) of Noonan, NB, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Gloria is also survived by her brother Clifford (Bea) of Nashwaak Bridge and her sister June of Dalhousie.

Gloria was predeceased by her daughter Jean, her brothers Glen, Clarence and Wesley.
