Alice Marie Doherty

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved mother Alice Marie Doherty (nee Heppell), age 96 on September 9, 2016 in Dalhousie, New Brunswick. Alice was born in Balmoral, New Brunswick on October 24, 1919 to Helene and Edmond.

After graduating from Normal School in 1937, she taught at local schools in the Charlo area and later moved to Montreal to study Nursing. She married in Charlo in 1946. She lived in New York City, Saint John, Hay River (Northwest Territories), Edmonton and Dalhousie. Along with her careers in teaching and nursing, she enjoyed family time and travel, story–telling, bridge, knitting, crossword puzzles, genealogy, tutoring new Canadians, and was involved in her church and the CWL.

She leaves behind five children: Michael (Lauretta) of Saint John, Helen (Bas) of Charlo, Peter of Calgary, Anne of Vancouver and John (Barbara) of Dalhousie, seven grand–children, seven great grand–children, a sister Claire and a brother Leo as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alice was predeceased by her loving husband Capt. James Doherty, four brothers: Edgar, Albert, Donat, Herman, four sisters: Albertine, Alma, Celina, Emma and her daughter–in–law, Lauretta (nee Henderson).

Earlene MacNeish

Passed away at the Village Nursing Home on August 24th, 2017 at the age of 86, Mrs. Earlene MacNeish (née Clair) of Campbellton, wife of the late Harrison MacNeish. Born in Campbellton on May 7, 1931, daughter of the late Earl (Harold) and Margaret (Hennessy) Clair.

She is survived by her three children: daughter Carla (Jude) Maltais of Tide Head, daughter Clair (Yvon) Bilodeau of Montreal, son Geoffrey (Karla Collins) of Fredericton NB. Grandsons Ryan (Sheri) of Thunder Bay and Jeffrey (Diana) of Grande Prairie, Alberta, and great-grandchildren Hudson, Brodi and Olivia. Brothers Edison Clair (Alice), Kerry Clair (Wendy), sister Willena (Clair) O'Brien of Montreal. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her sister Maureen Barry and her brother Reginald Clair, and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Alfred LeBlond

Charlo – A sa demeure, est décédé paisiblement, le jeudi 31 aout 2017, à l’âge de 93 ans, monsieur Alfred LeBlond, époux de madame Lucie (Thibodeau).

Outre son épouse, il laisse dans le deuil ses 8 enfants : Estelle (Jim) de Oshawa, Ontario; Daniel (Gisèle) de Charlo; Michel (Mona) de Rivière-Verte; Lise (Jean-Guy) de Balmoral; Diane (Jean-Ola) de Paquetville; Pierre (Helen) de Seaside; Rachel (Denis) de Nouvelle, Québec; Ginette (Claude) de Tilley Road; 17 petits-enfants et 22 arrières petits-enfants ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces et amis.

Il était le dernier survivant d’une grande famille d’enfants de monsieur Jean-Baptiste LeBlond et madame Lydia Richard.

Cheryl Chapple

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Chapple on September 11th, 2017 at Shannex Fredericton. Cheryl was born on October 28, 1946 in Campbellton NB. She was a daughter of the late Robert MacKenzie and Isobel (Allingham).

Cheryl owned and operated LH Chapple Moving and Storage, an agent for Atlas Van Lines for 40 years.

Helping others was also a big part of Cheryl's life, she was always donating to the charities that she held close to her heart.

She is survived by her two sons; Larry (Janet), Keith (Sonya), grandchildren; Kelsey (Jordan), Katie, great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sophia, brother Alan MacKenzie of Nova Scotia and her sister-in-law Rhonda MacKenzie of Moncton, several nieces and nephews. Special lifelong friends Keith and Sharlene Morell.

She was predeceased by her husband Larry Chapple Sr., brother David MacKenzie, sister Beverly Clarke and nephew Donnie Clarke.

Noëlla Meade

Noella Meade, 84, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Campbellton on December 23rd, 1932, daughter of the late Marguerite and Alphonse Bourque.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Jay); Patty (Larry); Carole; her sons, Paul (Laura); Gary (Susan); her two brothers, Roger (Denise); Gerald (Maureen); her sisters, Therese (Lewis); Rose (Martin); Claudette (Coy); her many grandchildren, great–grandchildren and a great–great–grandchild.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Gabie (Roe) and brother Maturin.

The funeral service was held at Maher's Funeral Chapel in Campbellton on Tuesday, September 12th at 2pm.

In addition to being a supportive and loving mother, Noella had a passion for learning, which guided her to a 26 year career as a Registered Nurse Assistant where she touched many in the Campbellton community. She also enjoyed volunteering for numerous charitable organizations and being close to nature and friends especially outings with her bird watching group. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the professionalism and kindness shown by the staff of the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Bathurst Regional Center and the Hospital St. Joseph Dalhousie (Dialysis Unit).

Pamela Christine Stewart

We are so sad to announce the death of Pamela Christine Stewart of Flatlands, NB on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017. Born in Saint John, NB on August 13th, 1948, she was the second daughter of Frank and Patricia Stewart. The family moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia in the early '60s.

Pam had a wonderfully adventurous spirit, even at an early age, climbing the tallest trees and enjoying the freedom of a child in the country. This love for adventure followed her throughout her life, and provided many wonderful memories and stories. Oh, how she could tell those stories!

Pam achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University, and worked many years with Family Child Services in Windsor, Nova Scotia. She was a staunch supporter of human rights and had great empathy for the poor and disadvantaged. She decried the inequities that are so prevalent in our present society and put her beliefs into actions.

Pam will be dearly missed by her families (both in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) and by so many who were fortunate to call her friend. We wish to thank Dr. Yacoub and the dedicated staff at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Pam received such wonderful care.

Elaine Frances Anderson

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 18th, 2017 at the age of 76, Mrs. Frances Elaine Anderson of Campbellton, wife of Gerald Anderson. Born in Charlo, N.B. on March 26, 1941, daughter of the late Eugene Biddiscombe and the late Mary (LaRouche) Biddiscombe.

She worked for the Mountain Drive In, the local family business – Dairy Queen, and was the best full time mom anyone could ask for.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald Anderson, her sons Douglas (Peggy); Alan (Isabel); David (Linda); Richard; Glen (Dawn); Darren (Wendy), her sisters Margaret Anne; Helen; Lucy; and her brother Eugene "Bud". She is also survived by her grandchildren, Krista, Kilby, Jaime-Lee, Neal, Ben, Chris, Andrew, Erin, Jasmin, Isaac, Abby & Noah and her great-grandchildren, Connor and Millie. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Brian (Gay).

Renald Valdron

Passed away on September 12, 2017 at the age of 82, Mr. Renald Valdron of Dalhousie, Husband of Emelia “May” Valdron, son of the late Leonard Valdron and Agathe Couture.

Renald will be missed by his wife Emelia May Valdron, his sons Marc (Linda) Valdron, Gilles (Cecile) Valdron, Frank (Sylvie) Valdron and his daughter Brigitte (Aldeo) Doucet. He was predeceased by his son Claude at the age of seven. He is also survived by two sisters Rachel (Gilles) Richard and Lucy (Greg) Nichol. His five grandchildren Roch, Stephanie, Remi, Caroline, Eric and six great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by one granddaughter, Sylvie Doucet.

He worked at the pulp mill for forty years and also worked for Saga Company.

His most enjoyable time was being on the bay fishing and also loved many sports.

Ronald Carrier

The death of Ronald Carrier of Belledune occurred Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 69. Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late Leo and Rosella (Gray) Carrier.

Ronald is survived by his children Irene Carrier, Joseph Carrier, Tammy Carrier and Ronald Carrier, all of Dieppe, as well as nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his siblings Mae Doyle, Gary Carrier, Louis Carrier, Theresa Firlotte, and John Carrier.

Isabella MacPherson

With sadness, we announce that the death of Isabella MacPherson of Charlo occurred Friday, September 22nd, 2017 at the Dalhousie Nursing Home at the age of 95. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Greenan and Jeannie Grassick.

Isabella will be remembered by those who knew her as an avid bridge player and a lover of curling. She was one of the last surviving war brides in the area.

Isabella is survived by her sons Reid (Frances) of Dalhousie, Stuart (Jeannie) of Riverview, Ian of Thunder Bay, and Bruce (Jackie) of Calgary, her ten grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Robert "Bob" MacPherson, her son James, and her granddaughter Angela.
