Scott Bremner

Passed away at his residence on July 30th, 2016 at the age of 48, Scott Bremner of Dalhousie Junction, husband of Marlene (Firth) Bremner. Born in Campbellton on October 9, 1967, son of Bruce Bremner and the late Kathryn (Button) Bremner.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Marlene; his children Samantha and Matthew at home, his brother Robbie (Vicky), his nephew Carter, all of Dalhousie Junction.

Robert Burton

Passed away at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on July 28, 2016 at the age of 94, Mr. Burton "Bert" Roberts of Dalhousie, husband of Cora (Furlotte) Roberts. . Bert was the son of Margaret and Ernest Roberts.

Burt is survived by 3 Sisters; Eileen, June and Mary, 3 Daughters; Alma, Juanita and Heather, 5 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Bert served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe with the North Shore Regiment. Returned to civilian life on demobilization with the rank of CQMS (Company Quarter Master Sergeant) He was a long standing member with the Dalhousie Lions Club as well as the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #17

Bert's civilian career with the N.B.I.P. Pulp & Paper Mill spanned 41 years when he returned from overseas in 1946 until he retired at the age of 62 in 1983 Bert enjoyed any activities involving the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and camping with friends and family

Christopher Bujold JR

On July 26, 2016 Christopher Jr. "C.J." Bujold of Moncton, and formerly of Campbellton, passed away suddenly at the young age of 22.

He leaves behind his father Chris, stepmother Nadege, his mother Crystal, his siblings, Lukie, Dexter, Kaylin, Patrick, Vanessa and Brandon, his godparents Michelle and Pierre, and his grandmother Wanda and a niece little Ariel and Alaska. He was predeceased by his grandparents Marie and Edouard, his great-grandparents Jeanette and Wilfred, and his Aunt Laura.

Madeleine Roy

Monday, August 1 st , 2016 at the Dalhousie Nursing Home at the age of 67, passed away Mrs. Madeleine Roy of Dalhousie and formerly of Charlo, wife of Mr. Pierre Roy. She was the daughter of the late Léonie (Diotte) and the late Antoine Fournier.

Besides her husband, Pierre, she will be sadly missed by her son Marc "Nounou" (Mélissa) of Malauze, her grandsons: Cédric and Maxim; her brothers: Gérald, Lucien (Diane) and Martin (Denise) all from Eel River Crossing also by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Robert Wayne Duggan

The death of Robert Wayne Duggan of Cambridge Ontario occurred July 30, 2016 at the age of 71. Born in Owen Sound, ON, he was the son of the late Cornelius and Grace (Taylor) Duggan.

Wayne is survived by his daughters Kim Hickey (Kevin) of Jacquet River, Karen Silva (Bill) of Cambridge, ON. Christine Menzies (Shawn) of Cambridge, ON; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother Pat; as well as his sisters Dorothy, Theresa, Lorraine, and Loretta. He was predeceased by his wife Linda (Foe); daughter Kelly; brothers Charles, Cline, Norm, Murray; sister Marie and half brother Eddie.

Kenneth Montplaisir

The death of Kenneth Montplaisir of Dalhousie occurred Monday July 18, 2016 at his residence at the age of 66. Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Arthur and Geraldine (Harquail) Montplaisir.

Kenneth is survived by his sister Irene Montplaisir of Charlo; niece Kim; great nieces Laura and Renee; Aunt Geneva Arbeau; brother David as well as nephews Jason And Travis. He was predeceased by his sister Cora and brothers James and Theodore.

A reception will be held at the Dalhousie Lions Club Sunday afternoon from 2-4 in the afternoon. A private graveside service is to be held at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of donors choice would be appreciated by the family.

Perley Menzies

The death of Perley Menzies of Dalhousie Jct. occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Monday, August 08, 2016 at the age of 90. Born in Dalhousie Jct., he was the son of the late Irvine and Vina (Traverse) Menzies.

Perley is survived by his wife Myra (Court); sons Ronald (Susan) of Glencoe, Michael (Rhonda) of Dalhousie Jct., Allan (Joanne) of Dalhousie; daughter Shelley Terrio (Mark) of Dalhousie Jct. as well as his 12 grandchildren.He was predeceased by his daughter Donna Miller and sisters Joan MacKenzie and Dorothy Brown.

Perley worked with the CNR as a Section Foreman in Dalhousie until his retirement in the late eighties with nearly forty years of service. Perley was a kind hearted person and enjoyed spending his time in nature hunting & fishing with family and friends. Donations in memory of Perley may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.

Peter Louis Simonson

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 2nd, 2016 at the age of 84, Mr. Peter "Sugar" Louis Simonson of Eel River Bar, husband of Lina Labillois.

Patricia Bernard

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 9, 2016 at the age of 84, Mrs. Patricia Bernard of Dalhousie and formerly of Charlo. Born in Dalhousie on November 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Hélène and Paul Arseneault.

She is survived by her children: Michel (Jeannette), Hélène (Jean Marc), Étienne (Helen), Luc (Iris), Charles (Nathalie) and Lise, as well as her sisters: Tony O'Keefe and Roma Caron. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Gérard (Martine), Grandson Hervé, and her brothers and sisters: Yvon, Léon, Paul-Émile, Roland, Estelle and Felix.

Sheila LaPointe

The death of Sheila LaPointe of Gravelhill occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the age of 64. Born in Gravelhill, she was the daughter of the late John and Janie (LaPointe) Bertin. Sheila is survived by her husband Percy; son Jamie (Amy) of Gravelhill, grandchildren Kelsey and Bradley as well as her sister Lucille (Paul Gavin) of Gravelhill. She was predeceased by her infant children Scott and Paula as well as her sisters Linda, Georgina and Marina.

Sheila LaPointe

Sunday, August 21st , 2016 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 83, passed away Mr. Gérald Lanteigne of Atholville, husband of Mrs. Adeline (Savoie) Lanteigne. He was the son of the late Jovite (Gionet) and the late Patrick Lanteigne.

Besides his wife Adeline, he will be sadly missed by his children: Guy (Cécilia Comeau) of Atholville, Denise (Richard Ayles) of Campbellton, Murielle of Belleville, Ont., Michel (Josée Bujold) of Atholville, Denis (Léonie Ouellette) of Campbellton, Georges (Madeleine Ouellette) of Campbellton, Nicole (Denis Ouellet) of Campbellton and Lise (Donald Landry) of Campbellton; his grandchildren: Marc, Lynn, Patrick, Norah, Gabrielle, Jessica, Mélissa, Jean-René, Janique, Zacharie, Marie-Eve, Carol, Julie, Éric, France, Katie, Michel and Alexandre; his11 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter also by many members of the Savoie family, nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and many brothers and sisters.

Joseph Martial Berube

Passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 29th, 2016 at the age of 79, Mr. Martial Bérubé of Dalhousie, husband of Sandra Jean Hance. Born in Balmoral, NB, on April 20, 1937, son of the late Napoléon Bérubé and the late Albina Paradis.

Besides his wife, he is survived by eight children: Sylvie (Kevin), Rino (Jeannine), Sylvain (Judy), Bruno (Michelle), Wayne (Erin), Jeannie, Marcia, and Robin; seven grandchildren: Jean-Francois, Manon, Fanny, Sebastien, Mathieu, Brady, and Kyla; six great-grandchildren: Alexandre, Annabelle, Vincent, Samuel, Alex, Keaton, and Theo; one sister Rena (Félixine).

The family wishes to thank the staff for the exceptional care given to their father at the Campbellton and Saint John hospitals.

Pearl Henrietta Harris

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 31, 2016 at the age of 91. Mrs. Pearl Harris (nee Savoy) of Dalhousie,N.B. , Wife of the late James Harris. Born in Dalhousie on January 7, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Savoy and Catherine Parker.

She is survived by her 2 sons Michael (Lucille) and Robert (Lynn), 3 daughters Margaret Ann (Ernie) , Carol (Brian) and Pamela (Carola), 5 grandchildren, Kim, Sean, Tricia, Garth and Jason, also 5 great grandchildren, Keara, Cameron, Maggee, Ericka and Emma.

Debbie Pettigrew

The death of Debbie Pettigrew of Seaside occurred at the Moncton City Hospital Sept.03, 2016 at the age of 54. Born in Archibald Settlement, she is the daughter of Chester and Jeannette (Levesque) Mazerolle.

Debbie is survived by her husband George; three children Jonathan of Bathurst, Matthew of Dieppe, Cassandra of Moncton; her two grandchildren Tessa and Grady as well as her brothers Gary, David and Barry.

Garfield Wood

Garfield Wood, formerly of Centennial St., Bathurst, passed away on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Foyer Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Bathurst at the age of 90.

Born in Campbellton, he was the son of the late Richard and Katherine (Bastian) Wood.

Garfield served in World War II the Royal Canadian Navy in Canada and overseas, member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18 Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst, member of Lodge St. John, No. 27, F&AM of the Masonic Order, Bathurst. He worked as an Inspector for the Province of New Brunswick until his retirement. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jacqueline (Duguay) Wood of Bathurst and two sons: Wayne Wood (Madeleine Buck) of Montreal, Que. and Brian Wood (Sheila Callen) of Chilliwack, BC. Garfield Wood

Four grandchildren: Edward, Michael, Alice, Julie and two great-grandchildren: Danika and Lila. Many nieces and nephews.

Pearl Marion O'Neill

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Pearl Marion O'Neill on August 31, 2016 in her 89th year.

Pre-deceased by her husband Carl Robert O'Neill (1996). Survived by son Dan O'Neill, daughter Carla Carr and grandson Jeremy Carr all of Dundas.

Also survived by sister Mathilda (Babe) LaPointe of Dalhousie, New Brunswick along with other nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at a later date. Special thank you to all the caregivers at the Bob Kemp Hospice and the CCAC for their kindness and compassion during her illness

Phillips, Ida May

In her 96th year, Ida May Phillips died at Moncton City Hospital on September 2, 2016.

Born in Edmundston, NB she was the daughter of the late John and Ida (Nelson) Delagarde.

She was a proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. Several will remember her as one of the first kindergarten teachers in Dalhousie as well as “Brown Owl” and other positions in the Guiding movement.

Ida was pre-deceased by her husband Edmund and 5 sisters and 6 brothers. She is survived by three daughters, Donna Campbell (Bob) of Riverview, NB, Dawn Guitard (late Eddie) of Dalhousie, NB and Karla Godin (Leo) of Dalhousie, NB and twin sons Paul (Christine) of Moncton, NB and Peter of Saint John, NB.

Ida leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
