Edna Blanchette

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Blanchette, our beloved mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. She passed away March 7th at the age of90 on the Veterans Ward of the Campbellton Regional Hospital.

Edna (Darby) was born August 7, 1922 in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sussex, England. She proudly served in the British Army and during this time she met her beloved husband Tom. She immigrated to Canada in 1946, She became a Canadian citizen, and was fondly known as Queenie to her many friends.

She is survived by her four sons Ray, Danny (Gisele), Steven (Susan), Louis (Gail) and three daughters Sarah, Corinne, (Danny), Jackie (Donald). She was dearly loved by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband Tom and her sons Bobby, Jimmy and Mike.

Fernand Poirier

March 5, 2013 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 71, passed away Mr. Fernand Poirier of Atholville, partner of Miss Roberta Letourneau. He was the son of the late Laura (Frenette) and the late Gervais Poirier.

He will be sadly missed by his partner Roberta of Campbellton, his daughters; Grace (Mark Glidden) of Glencoe, and Joanne (Jacques Raymond) of Val d'Amour, step-daughter Paula (Brent Anderson) of Flatlands; grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters: Marie Ange, Regeanne, Yolande and Claudette also by many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers; Claude and Georges.

Gerald McNeil

March 9, 2013 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 71, passed away Mr. Gerald McNeil of Atholville, husband of Mrs. Therese (Bergeron) McNeil. He was the son of the late Juliette (Arbour) and the late Alonzo McNeil.

Besides his wife, he will be sadly missed by his children; Cindy (Yves Fournier) Of Atholville and Danny (Brenda Clavet) of Atholville; his grandchildren; Jessica, Jeffrey, Roch, Mindy & Cathy; his great-grandchildren; Zachary, Katina & Anthony; his brother Raoul (Armance Gerard) of Campbellton, his sisters; Jeannette and Lucille of Riverview, Rina (William Duguay) of Atholville, his sister-in-law Paquerette McNeil (late Rene) of Campbellton also by many nieces, nephews, friends and members of the Bergeron family.

He was predeceased by his son Gary, his parents and his brother Rene.

Mildred Alma Butler

Mildred Alma Butler (nee Thompson) passed on peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 6, 2013 at the age of 98. She was born in Dawsonville, N.B. on February 28, 1915 to the late Chesley P. Thompson and Ina Gracie.

She is survived by her daughters Olive Ann (late John Archibald), Tide Head, Ina Mae (Chipman MacDonald) St Lanbert Qc., and her son Frederick(Diane Bryson), St Lambert, Qc., Mildred is also survived by her brothers Arden (Antionish), Thomas (Kitchner, ON)William (Dawsonville), her sisters Joyce (Glen Levit) Susan (Dawsonville), Betty (Courtney BC).

She was predeceased by her husband Edward Leonard (Chummy) Butler, her son Edward Chesley (Carol Roberts) Cold Lake, Alberta, her brothers Ralph (Deep River,ON) Percy (Deep River ON) and a sister eorgina (Gofts Town, NH, USA).

She was an active member of the United Church and a long member of UCW.

Phyllis Doherty Legacy Bryant

Mrs. Phyllis Doherty Legacy Bryant passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on February 27, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 84. Phyllis was born in Croydon, England on June 15, 1928, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (King) Doherty at Croydon, England.

She came to Canada as a war bride.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Regis Legacy, her sisters Eileen, Mavis and Margaret, brothers James, Fredrick and Hank Doherty, sons Reggie (Susan) and Raymond (Cindy) Legacy of Ontario, grandson Gig Cameron (Ontario) and her 2nd husband James Bryant of Campbellton.

She is survived by her sister in laws Helen (Leo) Legacy of Jacquet River , Marie (late Arnold) Maisey of Campbellton and Margaret (Christian) Rusmussen of Hillsborough, daughters, Janet Legacy of Cornwall, ON., Mary Cameron and Eileen (Johnny) McGrath of Campbellton, sons Michael and Patrick (Johanne) Legacy of Campbellton. She had 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were William (Willie) Aubie, Michael Legacy, Sislian Cameron Walters, Debbie Maisey, Patrick Legacy and Johnny McGrath.

Ralph "Bud" Carrier

The death of Bud Carrier of Lorne occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of St Joseph Hospital, Dalhousie on March 6, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in Lorne he was the son of the late Alex and Jeannette (Murphy) Carrier.

He is survived by his stepmother Elizabeth; daughter Jeannette Godin (Valmont) of Lorne; five grandchildren, half brother Samuel as well as his half sisters Salome and Sadie.

He was predeceased by his brother Arnold, half brother Alfred as well as a daughter in law Doris.

He has a son Desmond that current status and location is unknown.
