Friday, July 10th, 2015 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 70, passed away Mr. Raoul Bernard of Atholville, husband of Mrs. Anne-Marie (Aucoin) Bernard. He was the son of the late Hélène (Bujold) and the late Sylvain Bernard.
Besides his wife, he will be sadly missed by his two daughters: : Louise (Jody Pollock) of Tide Head and Hélène of Atholville; his two grandchildren : Jonathan of Moncton and Jennifer of Tide Head; his brothers and sisters : Armand (Agnès Cormier) of Caplan, Qc., Jean-Marie (Denise Elias) of Drummondville, Qc., Thérèse (Robert Bouchard) of Atholville, Jean-Guy of Atholville, Rose-Anna of Atholville, Marguerite (Robert Turmel) of Victoriaville, Qc., Rita (Pat Hébert) of Atholville and Rachel (Michel Dumas) of Balmoral; members of the Aucoin family also by the many nieces, nephews and friends.
Hazel Miller
Hazel Isobel Miller, of Dalhousie, NB, and formerly of Charlo, passed away on July 09, 2015 at the Dalhousie Nursing Home at the age of 100.
Born in Belledune, NB, on January 18, 1915, she was the daughter of Thomas John Loane and Margaret Emma (Black) Loane. Hazel was predeceased by her husband Heber Charles Miller, in 1988, by her parents, her brothers, Gordon and Willard, and her sisters, Gladys and Hope. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Hazel is survived by her nephews and nieces, Kenneth Miller, Vermont, USA, Carole R.(Gammon) Eddy, Dartmouth, NS, Thomas R.Gammon, Tecumseh, ON, Constance E. Gammon-MacLennan, Riverview, NB, Nancy H. Scott, Bathurst, NB, Margaret Anne (Scott) Cameron, Charlo, NB, Charles J.R. Scott, Bedford, NS, Gordon M. Loane, Belledune, NB, and Edna (Loane) Cooke, Stillwater Lake, NS, and by several great nieces and nephews and cousins.
Hazel attended schools in Belledune, Bathurst and Normal School in Fredericton in 1932. She taught school in several locations throughout the Province, including Louison School, Nash Creek, Youghall, Rockport and Parkside.
Hazel was married to Heber Miller on September 8, 1945, and lived in Charlo continuously until September, 2006, when she moved to Rose St-Pierre's Special Care Home in Dalhousie, and subsequently to the Dalhousie Nursing Home.
Hazel was very active in her community, having served as Worthy Mistress Ladies Orange Lodge, was a member of the Glen Burnie W.I., a member of St.Paul's United Church choir and former Fall Fair Committee member.
Hazel was an avid gardener, enjoyed knitting and crochet work, loved to sing and play the piano, and was a wonderful cook.
At Hazel's request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service is to be held July 22, at 12 noon at the New Mills Protestant
