Ralph Leonard Lee
Family and friends were saddened by the death of Ralph Leonard Lee of Upsalquitch, which occurred on November 28, 2001

He was born in Upsalquitch to Lief Lee and Gladys Lee on May 12, 1921.

He worked on the river as a guide for 40 years and loved to play the fiddle at house parties and dances in his younger days. He also liked to tell stories about the river and the hunting trips he and his friends went on

He lived his last two years at the Manoir Antoinette in Atholville and left behind many good friends at the manor.

Funeral services took place from Maher's Funeral Chapel, Campellton with Reverend Kraglund officiating. Interment in the Upsalquitch Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Boyde Noye, Lloyd Borden, Douglas Murray and Vincent Moran.

Honourary pallbearers were Alexander Borden, William Murray, Doc Bertholot and Gerald Cleveland.



Edward "Butch" Smith

The death of Edward "Butch" Smith of 398 Sansom Street, Dalhousie occurred December 2, 2001 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst.

He was born in Dalhousie on January 2, 1947 to Charles Smith and the late Margaret Harquail and had worked as a taxi driver.

He is survived by his wife Margo "Vickie" Smith of Dalhousie, his father Charles of Dalhousie, daughter Jeannette Smith of Port Hawkesbury, N.S., sisters Margaret Parent of Dalhousie and Georgie Vautour of Pointe La Nim, brothers Ernest Smith of Dalhousie and Alexander Smith of B.C and grandchildren Julia Flacari and Kirk Boudreau JR.

He was predeceased by his mother Margaret.

The funeral will be held at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home.



Ken Doucet
Ken, 53 years, died on December 8, 2001 at Sarnia, Ontario.

Beloved husband of Joyce (Stevens) Doucet.

Predeceased by his father Hector Doucet (1983). Survived by his mother Martha Doucet, loving brother of Reginald of Sarnia (Brenda McClure, Seaforth); Donald (Debbie) of Eel River, N.B., Allan, Dalhousie, N.B.

Dear son-in-law of Graham and Gwenn Stevens, Sarnia.

Brother or Jim and Sheila Stevens, Camlachie.

Beloved uncle of Reggie and Kevin Doucet, Sarnia; Shawn, Erica and Jason Doucet, Eel River N.M.; Paul, Colin and Fiona Stevens, Camlachie.

Godfather/ "uncle" of Will and Dan Bourque, Windsor; Correy and Skyler Collins, Midland, Mi.; Celeste and Amie fabiano. Baysville, On.; Jennifer and Nicole Baillargeon, Sarnia; Ryan, Shawn and Cheryl LeBelle, Sarnia; Geoffrey Brown, England.

Past employee of Holmes Foundry, Member of Local 1089 Labourers International Union. Proud former president and zone Chairman of Sarnia Township Lions, Recipient of Helen Keller Felowship Award (Lions International).

The family would like to thank special friend Bard Seed and many other friends. We would also like to thank We Care Home Health Services, Dr. Rankin and staff, Community Care Access, and a very warm thank you to Sarnia Township Lions for all their extra efforts.

The funeral mass was celebrated Thursday, December 13 at St. Thomas D'Aquinas Church, 895 Champlain, Sarnia. A private interment will take place.

In lieu or flowers, the family request that donations be made to: St. Tomas D'Aquinas Church, Community care Access, We Care Home Health Services or Leader Dog for the blind.



Beatrice Doucet
Beatrice doucet of Campbellton, widow of Thomas Doucet, passed away at the Hospital on November 17. She was 83.

Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Florence (Smyth) Martin.

She is survived by a daughter, Millie Black (Gordon), of Jacquet River, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also survived by two sisters, Dora Charest of Campbellton and Bessie Perron, also of Campbellton, who passed away on November 23.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Gloria Crocker, in 19999, six brothers, Ralph, Hubert, Bill, Palmer, Price and John and two sisters, Priscilla and May.

The funeral was held from Bethel United Church, Nash Creek, on November 20.

Interment was in the New Mills United Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were nephews John, Albert and Leonard Martin and Grandsons Scott Crocker, David Black and Kevin Black.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.



Margaret Helen Steeves
The death of Margaret Helen Steeves of the Village Nursing Home, Campbellton occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 5, 2001.

She was born in Tide Head on June 30, 1923 to Wilbur Bateman Sharpe and Amanda Mary Leblanc and had worked as a registered nursing assistant at Soldier's Memorial Hospital for many years.

She is survived by daughter Leah Dawn (Vernon) Gouchie of Miramichi, sons Ronald David Steeves of Calgary and Charles Terrance Steeves of Moncton, sister Edna Mahoney of Campbellton, brothers Frank Sharpe of Moncton, Wendell Sharpe of Robinsonville, William Sharpe of Winnipeg and Howard Sharpe of Lethbridge and by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents. Funeral services were held from Maher's Funeral Home chapel, Campbellton on December 8 with rev. MacDonad officiating.

Interment in the Campbellton Rural Cemetery.

Jacquline (Jackie) M. (Jardine) Lewis
Jacquline (Jackie)M. (Jardine) Lewis passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2001 at the Jordan Life Care Centre, River Glade, N.B. after a lengthy illness. "Jackie" was born in Montgomeryshire, Wales, the daughter of Alfred P. and Gwendolyn V. Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, susan Jardine of Vancouver, son Paul (Nora) Jardine of Halifax, grandson Scott MacLeod of Moncton, sister Yvonne Snowden of Auckland, New Zealand, plus other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Garth G. Jardine and husband George G (Jerry) Jardine and second husband Michael S. Lewis.

Jackie served in the Royal Air Force Women's Air Corps and survived the bombing of London. Jackie was know for her sense of style, love of life and her humour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jordan Life Care Centre or the memorial of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank the staff of the Jordan for their unwavering care for "Mum"

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Cadman's Funeral Home, 114 Alma Street, Moncton (857-1110) where the funeral service will be held at a time and day to be announced. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery.
