Mrs. Bessie Grimes
The death of Mrs. Bessie Grimes of 424 Quarrie Street, Dalhousie occurred December 10, 2001 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Dalhousie at the age of 82.

She was born in St. George, N.B on February 26, 1919 to Frederick Cady and Margaret Savage and had worked as a nurses' aide.

She is survived by sons Stanley (Evelyn) of Dalhousie, Allan (Diane) of Blackland, Vance (Cora) of Dalhousie, Delbert (Mary) of Balmoral, Terry (Stella) of Calgary, Alberta and Timmy (Lola) of Nipigon, Ontario: stepson Fred (Joan) Cady of Lorne: sisters Margaret Henry of St. George, N.M., Ann Buchanan of Hamilton, Ontario and Marion Callback of Stoney Creek, Ontario: brothers Charles Cady of Campbellton: 11 grrandchildren: one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred P. Grimes and grandson Jimmy Grimes.

Funeral services were held December 13 from St. Mary's Anglican Church, Dalhousie with Rev. Andrew Fraser officiating. Interment in New Mills Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Stanley Grimes, Allan Grimes, Fred Cady, Vance Grimes, Todd Grimes and Bernie Grimes.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.



Mary Ellen O'Neill

The death of Mary Ellen O'Neill of St. Stephen Nursing Home, Saint John, N.B. occurred on December 7, 2001 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 91 years.

Born on July 10, 1910 in Shannonvale, N.B, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (McGovern) O'Neill. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She had been employed as a housekeeper for 45 years.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers John, Thomas and Bernard and a Nephew, Peter O'Neill.

She is survived by a niece, Mary-Ellen Leblanc (Hector) of Millet, Alberta and three nephews, Bernard (Donna) and John (Jean), both of Dundee and Charles of Millet, Alberta and a cousin, Joyce Dundon of Campbellton.

The Funeral mass was held December 10 at Stella Maris church. Interment in Dundee Cemetery in the spring.



Bessie (Nee Johnston) Cameron
The death of Bessie (nee Johnston) Cameron occurred December 9, 2001 at the Centre d'Accueil de Cowansville, P.Q. in her 88th year.

Dear mother of George (Hugette Nadeau), Lorraine (James Gray), David (Chris Sadovie) and Linda (Robert Moore). Cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren.

Survived by two sisters, Helen (Fred Ferris) and Emma (late Russell Hamilton): one brother-in-law, Edmond Cameron (Myrtle Moore) and one sister-in-law, Margaret Cameron (Max Seidlitz). Alson survived by numerous relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were helk Becember 14 from the Eglise De La Vie Abondante with interment in congregationalist Cemetery of Granby.



Charles Lester Fitzgerald
The death of Charles Lester Fitzgerald of St. Arthur occurred December 11, 2001 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 70.

He was born in Richardsville on June 30, 1931 to Cluney Fitzgeralk and Mary-Ann Travers. He was retired but was a hunting and fishing counsellor at the Centre de Plein Air de Saint Arthur.

He is survived by his wife Donalda, sons Scott and Ken, sister Lola Levesque, brothers Ernest and Leslie and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Ralph, William, Harold and Clinton and sister Alta.

Funeral services were held December 14 from Notre Dame de Fatima, Saint Arthur with Father Godin officiating. Interment in parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Georges Long, Normand Fitzgerald, Sylvest Hache, Rene Hache, Serge Maltais and Ricky Rowe.

Funeral arrangements were in care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.



Louella Roy
The death of Louella Roy of the Dalhousie Nursing home and formerly of Jacquet River occurred December 13, 2001 at the age of 90.

She was born in Becketville to Joseph Doucet and Mary Jane Furlong.

She was a member of the Don Bosco Ladies Guild, president of St. Gabriel's Parish council, a member of the St. Gabriel's CWL from 1959 to 1983 and was president for 16 of those years. She was a member of the Jacquet River Village council from 1965 to 1974 and was the first female deputy mayor of the village. She was inducted into the Belledune Hall of Fame in 2000.

She is survived by sons Allan (Carmel) of Jacquet River and Oswald (Jerry) of Brampton, Ontario: sisters Ruby Crowley (Vincent) of Niagara Falls, Cecile Doyle (Rexford) Alma, Quebec and Jacqueline Guitard (Gerald) of Becketville: brothers Chester (Salome) and Clarence (Lou): grandchildren Ronald, Jeffery, Robert and Stephanie and great-grandchildren Connor, Kiers, Michael and Maria.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Herman, son Denis, brother Joseph and sister Opal.

Funeral services were held from St. Gabriel's Church, Jacquet River on December 15. Interment in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Jacquet River on December 15. Interment in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Jacquet River.

Pallbearers were Allan Roy, Oswald Roy, Gordon Carmichael, Vincent Duplessis, Darren Doucet and Linda Adams.

Funeral arrangements were in care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.
