Shannon Donnelly
It is with great sadness that we, Audrey and Lloyd, announce the death of our very special son, Shannon, who was our angel here on earth and now in Heaven. We are comforted knowing that he is reunited with many loved ones including his maternal grandparents, Ada (2008) and Cully Frenette (2004), and paternal grandparents, Marion (1965) and Hubert Donnelly (2007).
In addition to his parents Shannon is survived by his caregiver of fourteen and a half years, Doris (Romeo) Guitard, and numerous special aunts, uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly.
Shannon touched many lives in his fifteen years. Those who took the time to see him for who he was were blessed with being in the company of a great teacher. Even though Shannon could not express himself verbally, his many gestures and expressions were clear to understand. We feel so loved being the recipients of his cherished smiles, winks, knocks and unique sounds of
pleasure. His gentle spirit spoke volumes and his unconditional love will never be forgotten.
Shannon delighted in simple things like time spent at the beach, listening to music, being read
to, holding hands and being loved. He attended nine years of school in Belledune and Jacquet River due to the wonderful Inclusion program New Brunswick offers. He also attended church in these parishes.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank his attentive and caring professional team
including the Extra-Mural team in Dalhousie Dr. Meek, Drs. Loubani, Dr. Leckey and his team at the Stan Cassidy Rehab Center, Dr. McNeely, The Palliative Care team and everyone at the I.W.K, Intervention Workers, APSEA and staff at the Bathurst and Moncton Hospitals. Over the years Shannon has been the recipient of excellent care by many professionals too numerous to mention but not forgotten. We also appreciated the special efforts of everyone in the school system, from the custodians, his wonderful EAs, to the Superintendent at the district office.
