Lauretta Walsh

Lauretta Walsh of Dalhousie passed away peacefully on July 26, 2014 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Born February 19, 1926 in St Charles de Caplan, QC., she was the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Louise Bourdages.

Lauretta was well known for her volunteer service at the Dalhousie Golden age Club and was an avid card player. She also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her many friends.

She is survived by three sons, Bob (Joyce) , Jim (Rolande), Bradley (Eillen) , a daughter Vickie (Albany), seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandson.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leo, daughter-in-law, Anne and grandson Danny.

Elsa Mae Malley

Passed away at the Campbellton REgional Hospital on August 14, 2014 at the age of 75, Mrs. Elsa Mae Malley of Campbellton. Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Howard Downs and the late Mary Firth.

She leaves to mourn her husband Wilfred Malley, sons Kevin Malley (Karen) of Orleans, ON and Curtis Malley (Diana) of Tide Head, her brothers Albert Downs of Flatlands, Denzil Downs of Campbellton, Gilbert Downs (Gloria) of Glen Levit, Stephen Downs of Campbellton and Donald Downs (Linda) of Flatlands, sisters Vella Felix (Murphy) of Campbellton and Barb Snow (Len ) of Flatlands. Also survived by her 3 grandchildren, mnay nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 1 sister Linda.

Daryl Thomas Irvine

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing on August 10th of Daryl Thomas Irvine, 74, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital after a brief courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Mann Settlement, QC, he was the son of the late Albert and Rhena Irvine. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (Dobson), daughter Laurie McLaughlin, Riverview, son Tim (Kelly), Moncton, step-son Danny Higgins (Cindy), Sherwood Park, AB, grandchildren Kyle, Areauna, Morgan, Rachel, step-grandchildren Sarah and Josh, sister-in-law Edna Irvine (Mahoney), brother-in-law George Elmer Thompson, several nieces and nephews.

As the last surviving member of his immediate family he was predeceased by his parents, siblings Billy, Maxine, Lorna and Wayne, half brother Arnold, in-laws Patricia and Wallace Dobson and an infant daughter Wendy.

Dorothy May Pratt

Dorothy May Pratt, 95, of K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton and formerly of Campbellton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 15, 2014. Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Louise (Young) Adams.

Until Dot moved to McKees Mills, she was active in Knox Presbyterian Church, Campbellton. Dot was a member of the A.M.S., Ladies Aid, Church School, C.G.I.T. and quilting group within the church. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

Dot will be sadly missed by her loving daughters, June Elizabeth Pratt of Moncton and Shirley Ann Parks (Rev. Winston) of McKees Mills; 2 grandchildren, Sara Louise Parks of Montreal and Jonathan Alexander Parks (Mandy) of Moncton; 1 great grandson, Anthony; brother, Earle Adams (Myrtle) of Campbellton; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Dot was predeceased by her husband, Seeley D. Pratt (April 1983); sister, Olive Keeley and brother, Lawrence Adams.

Public Graveside Service to be held at Campbellton Rural Cemetery on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 1:30 pm with Rev. Winston Parks officiating. Reception to be held at Knox Presbyterian Church Hall, Campbellton, following the service.

Isabel Lyons

Isabel Lyons of Mann Settlement, Quebec, passed away peacefully, on August 15, 2014, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and the late Effie (Hunnington) Mann and the beloved wife of 69 years of Henry (2010).

Isabel was a kind and generous mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She had the most beautiful smile. Mom loved taking road trips, visiting family and friends from far and wide. She loved to dance, laugh and truly enjoyed spending an evening playing cards. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Eleanor (Bernie) Mahoney, Heather (Bob) Gauvin, Debrah (Rick) Watling; sons Vaughn and Conrad (Annette); daughter-in-law Vera; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and brother Sanford Mann. Besides her parents and husband, Isabel was predeceased by her sons Kenneth (2006) and Vimy (2010), sisters Helen Law and Elzena McKinnon, and brother Alexander Mann Jr.

Laurianne Norrie

Peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in her 86th year. Predeceased by her first husband Roger Gallant of Atholville and more recent husband James Norrie. Survived by her brother Flavien Comeau of Atholville, her 3 children her son Leo Gallant (Lynn); daughters Ramona Gallant-Martin (Bob) and Dolorès Collins (Bill); step-daughter Lizbeth Milne (Bruce). Loving grandmother of Danny, Kelly, Jeffrey and Vanessa. Proud great-grandmother of Lukas. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and extended family.

Georgette Ferlatte

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 23, 2014 at the ae of 83, Mrs Georgette Ferlatte of Campbellton.

Born in Whites Brook on June 29, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Ferlatte and the late Blanche Harrison.

A teacher by trade, Mrs Ferlatte retired in 1987 after 35 years of service in the public school system. She started out as a teacher in the early 1950's . She then assumed the role of counselor from 1974 to 1978 and finally became director of the Campbellton school district from 1978 to 1987; the first woman to hold this position in a New Brunswick school board.

After having retired, she became socially involved on local, provincial and national levels. Her involvement as a volunteer in many activities concerning culture, art, health and even public affairs is an example to those wanting to pursue an active life after retirement.

Mrs. Ferlatte is recognized for having built herself a busy educational life and having woven a second career in volunteering with as much strenght and energy.

She leaves to mourn her sisters, Yolande Robichaud of Ste-Therese, QC., and Rose Marie Ferlatte of Dieppe, her brothers, George Ferlatte (Gertrude) of St-Bruno, QC, Andrew Ferlatte of Dieppe, and Jean Marie Simon (Carmen) of Campbellton and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Paul.

Hilda Charlong

Wednesday, August 20th, 2014 at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home, at the age of 92, passed away Mrs. Hilda Charlong of Campbellton, wife of the late Earl Charlong. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Jane (Carrier) and late Louis Larsen.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Donna (Dorique LePage) of Campbellton, Ronald (Marjorie Boyle) of Kingston, Alana (Ben Gaudet) of Campbellton and Susan (Robert Pelletier) of Florida; her 10 grandchildren and her 11 great-grandchildren; her sister Irene (Billy Lynch) of Courtice, Ont. also by many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, her sister Bernetta & brothers Earl and Alfred.
