Lynn Lapointe

Friday, September 4th, 2015 at the age of 48, passed away Lynn Lapointe of the Sugarloaf Manor of Campbellton, daughter of Mrs Doreen (Gagné) and the late Donat Lapointe.

She will be sadly missed by her mother Doreen, her brothers: Edmond of Toronto and Patrick of Moncton also by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her father Donat.

Corey Floyd

Monday, September 7th, 2015 at the Campbellton Village Nursing, at the age of 85, passed away Mr. Corey Floyd of Campbellton, husband of Mrs. Lorraine (St-Onge) Floyd. He was the son of the late Ellen (Roberts) and the late John Floyd.

Besides his wife, Lorraine, he will be sadly missed by his daughter Bonny Lee (Ken Martinez) of Hollywood, Florida also by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters: Elsie, Audrey and Margot.

Aaron Ulric Mather

On September 5, 2015, death claimed an unforgettable human being. Aaron Mather of Moncton, N.B. died suddenly one week before his forty-fourth birthday.

Aaron is the son of David and Ruth Mather of Tide Head, N. B. where he grew up and attended school, graduating from the Sugarloaf Senior High in 1989. Lisa Martin, formerly of Listuguj, Quebec, was the love of his life, and the center of Aaron's world. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Tawnie Mather Martin, on October 24, 1992. The three of them were a loving and supportive trio which gave them the strength to face the ups and downs of life. The people that filled Aaron's world were his main focus during his too short life. He was a people person. Aaron was close to his brother, Andrew Mather (Angela Ross) of Saint John, N.B. and his sister, Laura Mather, of Halifax, N. S. Honorary Mather family member, Shawn Dickson (Tanya) of Moncton, N.B., was like a brother to Aaron from childhood days onward.

Aaron will be remembered by other family members including Andy's daughters, Andrea and Paige of Saint John, N.B. and Aunt Donna (wife of the late Ian Mather), of Miramichi and their three children (Vonda, James, and Jeffery) who Aaron often got to spent time with as he was growing up. On his mother's side Aaron has four uncles, six aunts, and fifteen first cousins: David and Linda Steeves of Charlottetown, P.E. I.; Michael Steeves and Elena Zanetti of Toronto, Ont.; Sandra Turner of Hillsborough, N.B.; Catherine and Richard Porter of Moncton, N.B.; Nancy Steeves, Moncton, N.B. and Alexander and Shirley Steeves of Halifax, N.S. Lisa's parents, Frank and Cecile Martin of Listuguj, and all her family will miss Aaron. Their love will help Lisa and Tawnie through this terrible time.

Aaron's first long term employment was with Cold Spring Camp. The late Norman Lyons was Aaron's first boss and mentor who taught Aaron much about life and work. Aaron went on to complete an IT course at the Atlantic Business College in Fredericton. He was currently working as a technical support engineer for Hewlett Packard in Fredericton, N.B. He worked in collaboration with many competent people over the years. Some co-workers became his good friends.

Aaron was an active and athletic person who loved being outdoors. Golf was his passion and he played as often as he could. This activity also gave him the opportunity to make more wonderful friends.

Harold Essiembre

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, on September 7, 2015 at the age of 91, Mr. Harold Essiembre of McLeods. Born on October 31, 1923, son of the late Alfred Essiembre and the late Amanda Christie.

He was a Veteran of WWII and a retired Truck Driver for Irving Oil, for which he worked for 29 years.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine (McGrath) Essiembre, daughters Noëlla (Ralph) Coutange of McLeod's, Joanne (Glen) Guitard of Riverview and Rose-Marie (Jacques) Babin of Eel River, son Valmont (Peggy) Essiembre, Riverview, grandchildren, Charles, Melissa, Natasha, Jonathan, Amy, many nieces & nephews, as well as great grandchildren, Lucas, Brooke, Ben and Alana.

Malcolm Cooling

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on September 8, 2015 at the age of 90, Mr. Malcolm Cooling of Glen Levit, husband of the late Ann Cooling.

He worked as a asphalt paving worker, woodsworker, and as a small engine repairman.

He is survived by his son Alvin from Glen Levit, brothers Harry from Dawsonville, Reginald from Campbellton, Ronald from Moncton and Robert (Elaine) from Moncton, as well as his sisters, Lillian (Glenford) Thompson from Campbellton, Eileen (Garnet) Allen from Moncton, Maxine (Baden) Firth and Faye (Walter) Mann. He was predeceased by his brothers Ralph, William, Frederick, Sterling and Auley, as well as by his sister Betty Boudreau.

Arsene Landry

On Tuesday, September 8th, 2015 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, at the age of 60, Mr. Arsene Landry of Val d’Amour, passed away, husband of Bernadette (Thériault) Landry. He was the son of Mrs. Thérèse (Audet) and of Mr. Victor Landry.

Besides his wife Bernadette, he will be sadly missed by his son Bruce (Josée Godin) of Grande Rivière, Quebec; his daughter Angel of Val d’Amour; his grandchildren: Shanel, Anaève and Ryan; his parents also by many brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.

Gerald Joseph (Gerry) Dedam

It is with Great sadness to announce the death of Gerald Joseph Dedam at the age of 67 years old.

He was a resident of Listuguj, Quebec. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12th, 2015, at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst, NB. He was born in Listuguj, Quebec on November 6, 1947.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Linda (Gilbert) Dedam, his three sons Gerald "Jerry" (Johanne) Dedam, Christopher Dedam, Joshua Dedam and daughter Lisa Anne (David) Beaulieu. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mark Beaulieu, Amanda Elizabeth Beaulieu, Laura Dedam, Adele Dedam, Joshua Dedam Jr., Jordyn Dedam, and Kieran Dedam and his Great-Grand Children Nautica Annemarie Beaulieu and Natalie Rose Smith.

He is survived by brothers Terry Isaac (Bernadette), Kenneth Isaac (Adrienne), Roger Dedam, Alfred Dedam (Evelyn), Sheldon Dedam and his sister Lillian Dedam (Joey) ; He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late Joseph Wilfred Dedam and the late Elizabeth Isaac. He is predeceased by his sister Flora Dedam Barnaby. He is also predeceased by his grandchildren Stephen Michael Beaulieu and Joseph Stephen "Little Joe" Beaulieu.

Gerald lived an amazing life and was a dedicated husband and was married to his loving wife Linda for 48 years. Gerald began his career as a steel worker in Boston, Massachusetts and he was also an extremely gifted carpenter. He served as a Police Officer serving the community of Listuguj for many years. In his later years he formed the MicMac Historical Cultural Arts Society and worked to preserve and document the MicMac culture and heritage. He was also the President of the CFIC Radio station which has been serving the community of Listuguj and surrounding area for over 20 years. Gerald was a talented musician and enjoyed supporting and promoting local musicians. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Carmeline Furlotte

The death of Carmeline Furlotte of Campbellton occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Monday, September 07, 2015 at the age of 83.Born in Jacquet River, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Olive (Guitard) Firlotte.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family however she is survived by several nieces and nephews.Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Desmond, Marie-Ange, Edgar, Annette, Leander, Alexander and Arthur Jr.

Emile Furlotte

-Emile, loving husband to Michelle

-Amazing father to Grant, Myra, Nonita

-The Grandchildren's Special "Papa" (Kendall, Jake, Darcie, Erin, Lauren, Jessica)

-Special loving brother to his only sibling Joyce Prout of PEI.

-Emile had a wonderful appreciation for nature, an avid outdoor enthusiast Emile's passion was fishing and hunting and he enjoyed these immensely with family and friends.

-His love for music was in his soul, he played guitar and sang until he was unable to do so, his voice and songs will always remain in our hearts.

-Emile was a kind, giving compassionate man who always opened his heart and home to anyone in need. This act of kindness touched so many and he will always be remembered as a gentle soul.

Gordon Godin

The death of Gordon Godin of Lorne occurred suddenly at his home Tuesday, September15, 2015 at the age of 81.Born in Lorne, he was the son of the late Sanford and Amanda (Audet) Godin.

Gordon is survived by his wife Rita; children Jeanne Hickey (Leon), Donnie, Alice Godin, Alphie, Lisette Lavigne (Dean) and Peggy Godin all of Lorne.He is also survived by his 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren as well as his sister Maria Hickey.

Lillian Elise Rogers

It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the passing of beloved wife and mother, Lillian Elise Rogers, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Wednesday September 2nd, 2015 at the age of 86.

Lillian, the daughter of the late Andrew & Effie Anderson of Campbellton, NB, will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 65 years, Edgar Rogers. Being deeply loved by her husband and family Lill will be fondly remembered by her four children, Mitch (Monique) Fredericton, Doug (Aurore) Ottawa, Judy (John Noble) Prince Edward Island and Kim (Doug Prosser) Fredericton. Her nine grand children, whom "Nannie" adored: Daniel, Luc, Melissa, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Jay, Andrew, Emily & Adam as well as two beautiful great grand children: Isabelle & Shawn. She is also survived by her sister, Eileen Savoie of Campbellton, and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian was a devoted wife and a loving mother who cherished her family. In her free time, Lillian liked reading, playing bridge, doing her "newspaper puzzles" and knitting for her grand children and great grand children. Lill and Edgar spent many years ballroom dancing and were known to many as the "Jive King and Queen of the dance floor". She enjoyed spending her summers touring in their motorhome with Edgar and usually a few grand kids. In the last 15 years Lill and Edgar were truly delighted to spend times at the campground in Cap Pelé with their many great friends.

Donald James Carr

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald James Carr on September 9, 2015 at the age of 68.

Born in Point La Nim, NB on February 13, 1947 to Katherine (nee Wall) and Harold Carr, and raised by Pauline (nee Wall) and Treffle Allain. Don worked in the fuel industry for 50 years.

Don is survived by his wife of 46 years Lynda (nee Chapados) and his two daughters, Heidi Ann of Toronto, ON and Rebecca Katherine (Gray Savoie) of Ottawa, ON and his beloved grandchildren Ava and Colin. Brother of Ann Shave of Welland, ON; Patricia Skilling of Milton, ON; Bernard Carr of Alton, ON and Molly Pronkewich of Rockwood, ON. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Richardson

Richardson, Elizabeth Anne (Betty) (née MacDonald) 1919 – 2015 Peacefully at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa, Betty died with family at her side.

Betty was predeceased by her husband Alonzo Benedict (Bud); her parents, John Philip MacDonald and Mary Evelyn O’Brien; and her brothers Neil and Kenneth MacDonald.

Betty is survived by her three children; Betty Ann Campbell (Bill) of Ajax, Kenneth Richardson (Margaret Trites) of Ottawa, and Eleanor Johnson (Graham) of Phoenix, AZ, together with seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchilden, and three step-great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Lower Newcastle, NB, Betty attended school in Lower Newcastle, Loggieville, and Newcastle, NB. Following Normal School, she taught school in a number of locations in rural NB, before settling in Campbellton, NB, where she taught from 1946 to 1977.

When she retired, she and Bud moved to Ajax, ON to be closer to family. Betty’s life was a reflection of her love for her family and her commitment to her Catholic faith. St. Francis of Assisi said: “Preach the Gospel and if necessary use words.” Betty used few words, but her actions spoke volumes. She attended daily Mass, taught Confirmation classes, was a lector, a Eucharistic minister, a visitor to Ballycliffe Nursing Home, and a founding member of the Manresa Prayer Group. Betty touched many lives with her love and compassion; she will be greatly missed.

Olivier Savoie

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on October 26, 2015 at the age of 83, Olivier Savoie of Campbellton, husband of the late Géraldine Desroches Savoie. Born on January 6, 1932, son of the late Honoré Savoie and the late Emérentienne Allard.

He is survived by his daughters, Lynda Perron (Charles) of Val d'Amour and Johanne Savoie of Campbellton; his sons, Roger (Carmen) Kedgwick, Michel (Ginette) of Campbellton and Marco (Vicky) of Campbellton; his brothers, Guy (Catherine) of Moncton and Vianney (Evangeline) Nouvelle, QC; his sisters, Imelda LeBlanc of Campbellton, Emeline Landry (Odina) of Charlo, Catherine Savoie (Sylvio) of Balmoral and Agnes Belliveau (Thomas) of Moncton, and 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, two sons, Gerry and Bruno and a grandson, Eric.

Marina Carrier

The death of Marina Carrier of Nash Creek occurred at the Campbellton REgional Hospital Monday, September 21, 2015 at the age of 71.

Born in Nash Creek, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Pearl (Steeves) Lapointe.

Marina is survived by her husband Amos; children Kevin (Violet) of Cold Lake AB, Randolph (Hilda) of Nash Creek, Cindy Gieling (Richard) of Haarlem, Netherlands, Nicky (Natalie) of Moncton, Tammy Carrier of Nash Creek, Courtenay (Vanessa Doucet) of Nash Creek; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren as well as her siblings Ray, Ann, Allan, Charles, Sandra, Donnie, Wayne, Verna, Susan and Betty.
