Rheal Joncas

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on July 28, 2013 at the age of 55, Mr. Rheal Joncas of Eel River Crossing. Born in Dalhousie on May 20, 1958, son of the late James Joncas and the late Clementine Fournier.

He leaves to mourn his 12 sisters and brothers and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, two brothers and a sister.

Corinne Godin

The death of Corinne Godin of Lorne occured July 22,2013 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 88. Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Patrick & Virginia (Carrier) LaPointe.

She is survived by her daughters; Yvette Godin (Amos) of Jacquet River, Georgette Godin (Maurice) of Lorne, Yvonne Chaisson (Ken) of Doyleville, Germaine Furlong (Ronald) of Lorne, Virginia O'Brien (Dale) of Lorne; sons Alcide (Lorina) of Lorne, Fabian (Roseanne) of Lorne, Adrien (Donna) of Lorne, Albert (Marsha) of Jacquet River, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren as well as her brothers Emile, Edgar, Justin,Arsene, Gordon and sister Germaine.

She was predeceased by her husband Gordon and brothers Fabian,Philip & Manuel.

June Amelia MacKenzie

June Amelia MacKenzie, 88, originally of Bathurst, and formerly of Point la Nim, died peacefully Tuesday evening in the palliative care unit, Campbellton, from cancer, on July 30, 2013. She was born on May 13, 1925 in Bathurst, one of nine siblings.

June was a caretaker for a grandparent after she graduated from school, and later took on other jobs in Campbellton before meeting her future husband and then settling down. She was very active with her church, supporting suppers and other events as needed, a volunteer in the hall thrift shop, loved reading , walking and was an avid golfer.

She is survived by two sisters, Helen (Peter) Cooper of Barrie, Ontario and Mary Gammon of Bathurst; sons, Barry Drew Mackenzie (Brenda) of Moose Jaw, Sask., and Scott Henderson mackenzie of Point la Nim; and two grandsons, Brian and Bradley of Moose Jaw, Sask. She was predeceased by her parents, Cecil Gammon and Nellie (Sanson); and her late husband Drew Calvert MacKenzie of Dalhousie.

Marie Richardson

The death of Marie Richardson of Dalhousie occured at the Darlington Manor July 29, 2013 at the age of 87. Born in Nash Creek, she was the daughter of the late John & Ida(Bertin) LaPointe.

Marie is survived by her sons; James (Rosanna) of Peru, Edmond of Bathurst, Terry of Dalhousie, Johnny (Lorraine) of Bathurst, daughters; Barbara Boudreau (Junior) of Riverview, Linda Cupelli (Steve) of Riverview, 13 grandchildren as well numerous great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband George great-grandaughter Chelsea Marchand, brothers Tommy, Harold, Johnny, Brian and sisters Ida, Leona, Lena, Viola & Julian.

Derek Anthony Leger

STELLARTON\CAMPBELLTON, N.B. - Derek Anthony “Tony” Leger, 41, Stellarton, N.S. formerly of Campbellton, N.B., passed away peacefully Friday, August 2, 2013 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by his family.

Born in Campbellton, N.B., he was a son of Derek and Simone (Mercier) Leger, Campbellton, N.B. He was a long haul trucker who has been coast to coast several times working with different trucking companies. Tony was employed with Ray Murphy Trucking. He enjoyed snowmobiling, trucking, motorbikes and spending time with his family. Tony was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Surviving besides his parents, are his common-law wife of 10 years, Melissa Pellerine; sons, Ben, Chris and Dave, all at home; brother, Dave (Bev) Leger, Glencoe, N.B.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Benoit Babin

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 8, 2013 at the age of 72, Mr. Benoit Babin of Dalhousie, husband of Ann Blais Babin. Born in Charlo on May 6, 1941, son of the late Frank Babin and Emma Splude.

He is survived by his wife, Ann, his sons, Troy (Valeria) and Todd (Andrea) both of Ottawa; his daughter, Rachel Babin (Bob) of Hamilton; his brothers, Roger (Barbara) of Eel River Crossing, and Edgar (Barbara) of Welland; his sisters, Flora Levesque of Eel River Crossing, Alma LeClair (Firman) of Dundee, Germaine Drapeau of Toronto and Dorina Babin of Poite-ŕ-la-Croix. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Emelia Barthe

Mrs. Emilia "Joey" Barthe (Beaulieu) of Dalhousie, passed away at the Dalhousie Nursing Home on August 9, 2013 at the age of 90. Born in Eel River Cove on February 17, 1923. She was the daughter of Elzear Beaulieu and Marie Dumais. One of 12 children, she was the last surviving family member.

Emelia is survived by her daughter-in-law, Myrna Barthe of Campbellville, Ontario; granddaughter, Alexis Sawyer (nee Barthe) of Burlington, Ontario, and great-granddaughter, Jillian Sawyer. Beloved aunt of nieces, Rose Lafrance, Yvette Giroux and Paulette Berube of Montreal, Quebec, and Claudette Beaulieu of Pointe-ŕ-la-Croix, Quebec, and other family members throughout the Maritimes.

Predeceased by Alexander 'Joe' Barthe (husband), January 28, 1993, and Robert Barthe (son), August 18, 2001.

Joan Agatha Martins (Nee Lavigne)

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 5, at the age of 68, Mrs. Joan Lavigne Martins of Dalhousie.

She is survived by her sons Rodney of Nash Creek and Kevin Martins of Dalhousie, her brother Herman Lavigne Jr., of Dalhousie, her sisters, Bella Morrow (Bev) Of Dalhousie, Violet Lavigne, and Judy Harquail all of Dalhousie; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Marie Lavigne and her brother, Gerald Lavigne.

Ludivine Savoie

The death of Ludivine Savoie of Lorne occured at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Bathurst, August 07,2013 at the age of 85.

Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Vincent & Estella (LaPointe) Mallaley.

Ludivine is survived by her daughters; Elise Godin (Christopher) of Indiana, Nicole Godin (Audel)of Lorne, son; Rene (Sally) of Bathurst; 11 grand and 9 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Theresa Guitard; brothers Cecil and Leon and many neices and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, son Gerald, brothers Clarence and Alphonse and sisters Florence, Emmeline & Eulalie.
