George Allen Beck
83 years, Saturday August 17th, 2013 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Rhea Mae (LeBlanc) Beck. Loving father of Connie Beck (David) of Capreol, ON, Craig (Charlene) of Kitchener, ON and Kevin of Capreol, ON. Cherished grandfather of Samantha Gaudette, Maxine Beck, Samantha Gaudette, Maxine Beck, Jessica Gaudette, Jacob Beck and Cassandra Gaudette. dear son of Clarence and Jennie (Eisenor) Beck predeceased. Dear brother of Donald Beck (Irene) of Newburne NS, Murray Beck predeceased (Mary) of Watford NS, Douglad Beck (Joyce) both predeceased, Harold Beck (Carol) of Newburne, NS, Shirley durlig (Bernard) of Yarmouth, NS and Joan Zinc predeceased (Gordon of Mahone Bay NS) . Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
eorge was born in Newburne, NS and married Rea (nee LeBlanc) in Campbellton, NB in 1964 movin to the Sudbury area in 1965. He worked at the CNR for 25 years where his nickname was "Gabby". He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was a keen collector and avid hobbiest. His real passion was music where he was a popular entertainer, accomplished song writer and well loved recording artist.
The focus of his life was his loving family especially his precious grandchildren who were his pride and joy whether providing Granpa's Taxi service or sharing a song, he was happiest when in their company. George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, this job he took most seriously giving all he could to providce a solid foundation for his family.

Pierre Laviolette
Passed away at his residence after a difficult battle with cancer on August 18, 2013 at the age of 74, Mr. Pierre Laviolette of Charlo.
Born in Charlo, he was the son of the late H. J. Laviolette and the late Rita McIntyre.
He leaves to mourn his wife Lisette Bosse; children Luc, Lynn (Eric Boissonneault) and Jacques (Melissa). Also survived by his six grandchildren Ian, Josh, Luca, Emma, Alexandre and Olivier, his brothers Hebert(Theresa), Laurent (Audrey), Maurice (Laura), Rheal (Aline, guy (Christiane), late Jean-Marc (Gisele) and Louis (Monique), his sisters Patricia, Julie Anne (Jean Louis) and Louise (Judy).
Raymond Cotton
Raymond Cotton passed away on August 18, 2013 at the CHSLD Matapedia Residence, QC.
Born on November 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Godfrey /cotton and Claire Cassivi.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Leonard, Norman, Edmond and Vincent.
He is survived by sisters Emma, Rita, Eileen, brother Godfrey, many nieces and nephews.
We wish to express our gratitude to the staff of the Residence for the excellent care he received as well as the staff of the Campbellton Reginal Hospital, the Rimouski Regional Hospital, the Maria Hospital and Pavillon Ste Helene.

J. Rankin Dickie
The family of J. Rankin Dickie are deeply saddened by his passing at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Aug. 19 after a long and very courageous battle with Parkinson disease.
Born in Benjamin, NB. on Dec. 10, 1934 he was the son of John R. Dickie and Lena Dickie. Rankin was predeceased by his parents, brother Lloyd,and his grandson Kyle R. Gallen
Rankin is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Sandra (Buttimer), children Carey (Cathy), Waterloo, ON; Nancy Gallen (Bob), Fredericton, NB; Brenda Evans (Dan), Cambridge, ON; Grandchildren Sarah & Rachel Dickie, Morgan & Brandon Gallen, Lena and Joel Evans; Great Grandchild Rowan Rankin Brewer; Sisters Lou Moores, Saint John, NB. and Betty Prickett, Blackland ,NB; Brother Edward Dickie, Benjamin River, NB; many neices, nephews and cousins.
Rankin was employed at NBIP in Dalhousie for 36 years. He enjoyed tending to his woodlot, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
POWELL, Kathleen (Kay)
Gently and peacefully, in her home, surrounded by family, on Sunday, August 25th, in her 92 year. Born in Val D’Amour New Brunswick in 1922, she was the youngest daughter of 10 children of John Power and Clara Adams. Kay joined the Canadian Women Army Corps during the Second World War. It was then when she met Maurice Harry Richard Powell. Soon after the war, they married and made a home and farm in Val D’Amour, where they had 3 children. In 1950, they moved to Laval Quebec and added 5 more children to the family. In 1977, they moved to Smiths Falls, where they lived together for 22 years. After Maurice’s passing in 1999, Kay moved to Lansdowne with her daughter Kathy and husband Greg and their 3 children.
Loving and devoted mother to Eleanor Szakacs (and the late Steve Szakacs), Ken (Betty), Peter(Sandy), Bernice Chiniborch (Stan), Eileen (the late Louise Roy), Ernie (Carol), Kathy Baker (Greg), Maurice (Lana), Marg Campbell (Mel). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Michael (Lorena), Joseph(Marie), Patricia (Pat),Cathy(Anthony), Will (Nicky), Luke (Melanie),Mark (Heather), Andy (Heather), Lynn(Wade),Jessica (Eric), Virginia(Kyle),Jennifer(Greg), Emma(Richard),Aidan, MacKenzie, Karri, Kristina, Lara (Eric), Craig; and her great grandchildren Zachary, Matthew, Michael, Noah, Joshua, Alex, Mallory, Leo, Adam, Kayla, Marisa, Jamie, Devon, Violet, Linden, Samantha, Waylon, Rylynn and Hanna. Kay is survived by her sister in law, Anita Power, and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her sisters Mary, Rosella, Margaret, and Catherine and her brothers John, James, Ernest, Mark and Gerald.
Special thanks to the many caregivers who made it possible for Kay to stay in her own home, especially her warm and caring homecare nurse, Lisa Sosnowski. Special thanks to Dr. John Erb for going above and beyond for the family. Thanks also to our case managers from CCAC Lisa Saunders and Catherine Green, as well as Nicole Leakey from Bayshore and Kelly Markus from St Elisabeth Clinic and also to Catherine Bolger from Veteran’s Affairs and Peter VanSchie from Medigas.
Family and friends will be received at the Barclay Funeral Home, 1033 Prince Street in Lansdowne on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be Celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Lansdowne on Saturday August 31st, 2013 at 9:30 am. Interment St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Smiths Falls at 2 pm. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the St. Lawrence Medical Centre in Lansdowne would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
Dr. Charles Gordon Ross
Dr. Charles Gordon Ross died peacefully in his 92nd year on August 14, 2013 at Dufferin Oaks Nursing Home, Shelburne, Ontario .
Gordon was the son of Loggi and Clara (Dickenson) Ross and grew up in Woodstock N.B. Following high school he served in the Second World War as an army Lieutenant. After the war he attended the University of Toronto School Of Optometry and became Carleton County’s first doctor of optometry. He enjoyed an active practice for over forty years during which time he served as the president for the provincial and national Canadian Optometric Society.
In his retirement he wrote a book on “The History of Optometry in Canada”. Gordon was an active member in the St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Woodstock N.B and an elder for over 50 years.
He loved to sing and could be found singing in barbershop quartets or the choir on Sunday morning. He also participated in Christian missions to Guatemala with his wife Meredith. Gordon was an avid skier, both downhill and cross-country.
It was a joy for him to be with his family and friends on a ski hill on a clear winter’s day and he would remark that, “this was a premium plus, plus day”. Gordon’s death is preceded by his wife Meredith (McLean) 2007 and former wife Maxine (Wakem) 1979 and brother Robert Ross. He is survived by his children Andy Ross (Nancy), Paula Curtis (Mal), Christina Jeffrey (Shawn) and grandchildren Laura Ross, Wendy Ross-Clark, Jena Clark, Madeline Clark, Natalie Ayling , Daniel Curtis, Sophia Jeffrey, Joshua Jeffrey, great grandchildren Luke Roland, Brielle Ayling, Caleb Ayling, Noah Ayling, Ava Curtis , many nieces, nephews and large extended family. The family wishes to thank the Lord Dufferin Manor in Orangeville, ON and the Dufferin Oaks in Shelburne, ON.
Amy English
The death of Amy English of Ville St. Laurent, Quebec,occured August 07, 2013 at Campbellton Village Nursing Home at the age of 96. Born in Betchworth, England, she was the daughter of the late George & Amy (Wicks) Farmer.
Amy is survived by her brother Douglas ;sister in law Doreen Farmer as well as several neices & nephews in Canada & the U.K. She was predeceased by her husband Robert; sister Dolly and brothers George, Harold, Stanley & William.
Corinne Doucet
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 86 years of age, Mrs. Corinne Comeau, wife of the late William (Willie) Doucet. Born in Campbellton on August 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Comeau and the late Isabel Brazeau. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as the assistant postmaster at the Atholville Post Office for many years.
She is survived by her children Judith (George Thibodeau), Jimmy (Michelle), Charles (Berthe Melanson), Thomas, Monique Michaud, Fred (Jacqueline) and Bertha (Gary Martel). She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Marc-Andre, Mathieu, Pierre, Phillippe, Julie, Jeffrey, Laura, Sara, Trevor, Michelle, Christine, Helene, Bradley, Marc Alexandre, Gabrielle, Audrey, Joe and Andrew.
Everette LaPointe
The death of Everette LaPointe of Gravel Hill occured at the Campbellton Regional Hospital August 16, 2013 at the age of 67. Born in Gravel Hill,he was the son of the late Frank & Francis (Dempsey) LaPointe.
Everette is survived by his wife Elaine Mallaley; daughter Carrie Lee (Leslie Carrier)) of Gravelhill, brothers Lawrence & Leonard as well as his sisters Cora, Rosalyn, Florence & Doris. He was predeceased by his sisters Mona, Gerty, Janie and brothers Francis, Delphus, Basil, Clement & James.
