Leila Flowers Court
Leila Flowers Court passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on June 27th, 2013 at the age of 73, Leila was the wofe of the late Lester Court of Fleurant Point, QC.
Born in New Carlisle, QC, she was the daughter of the late Franklyn Flowers and Ellen Annie Ward. Leila is survived by her daughter Marlene, and sons Dale (Darlene), Wayne (Lynda), Lee (Helene), Aubrey, Sheldon (Norma), several grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Long employed as a home care worker, and nurse. Leila took care of seniors in their home until a few months before she died. She was an active member of the First United Church.
When not working, Leila could be found holding "court" in two of her favourite places Tim Hortons or the Legion. She loved country music and bluegrass and going to the New Richmnond Music Festival. She will be missed for her great sense of humour, her wisdom anbd loving generous spirit.
Special thanks go to Reverend Ross Wiseman who offered his unconditional support and officiated at the burial service. Thanks to Murray Campbell for his much needed help and tender care towaqrds Leila in her final days. Thanks also to the Palliative Care Nursing staff.
A heartfelt thank you from Leila's daughter Marlene to Norman Parent for his beautiful singing during Leila's graveside service. Thanks to dear Aunt Evelyn (Leila's sister) during Leila's final days. Her thoughtfulness will never be forgotten. Sincere thanks to Leila's best friends Barbara and John Shearing. Abole all thanks to Leila's numerous friends along with God, who gave and continues to give the family strenght needed to get through this very difficult time.
Robert Daigle
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Daigle which occured on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the Palliative Care unit in Bathurst at the age of 59. He was the son of the late James Daigle & Alice Bertin.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Linda (Hickey) as well as his two sons Todd (Gina) of Lorne & Brad of Pointe Verte. He is also survived by his two sisters Elizabeth Daigle of Bathurst & Evangeline Slyford (George) of Thunder Bay, ON. as well as three neices Sherrie, Asa and Otesha as well as his two nephews Jamie & Anthony. He is predeceased by his infant son Bobby and sister Mary Daigle.
Robert loved his community and appreciated the simple things in life, he was happiest playing his mandolin and guitar with his many bluegrass friends ,pickin and a grinning. He loved outdoor activities including four wheeling, hunting and fishing with family and friends. Please accept this obituary as a personal thank you from his family.
Ruth Marshall
Ruth Marshall passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 24, 2013 at the age of 77.
Born on August 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Isabel Noye.
Besides her parents she was pre-deceased by brothers Lee and Keith and half-sisters Viola and Blanche.
She is survived by her husband, Lee, daughters Karen (Gordon), Darlene (Sonny) and Janice (Danny). Also survived by her four grandchildrenThomas, Jennifer, Becky and Stephanie and four great grandchidlren Samantha, Kaitlyn, Casey and Connor, her brothers Ronald and Boyd, sisters Kaye and Lorraine, several nieces and nephews.
Wanda Rena McIntyre
It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Wanda (Whalen) McIntyre of Campbellton on September 1, 2013 at the age of 82. She was the wife of Theophile McIntyre.
Gary MacLean
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on August 31, 2013 at the age of 58, Mr. Gary MacLean of Eel River Crossing, husband of Denise Boissonneault.
He was the son of the late Lloyd MacLean and Donalda Gilmore of Dalhousie.
He's survived by his wife Denise Boissonneault, his two sons Jeffrey of Eel River Crossing and Keuth of Montreal, his sisters Darla Audfroid (Billy) and Nancy Gallie (Mike) of Dalhousie, uncle Reg. aunt Honey, several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents , one brother Brian and a nephew Derek
Nelson Lejeune
Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, passed away at the age of 79, Mr. Nelson Lejeune of Campbellton. He was the son of the late Dora (Francoeur) and the late Edgar Ouellette.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Christianne of St.Jean, QC, Christian of St.Hubert, QC., Rene-Daniel (Carole Brien) of Laval, QC, Nicole of Gatineau, QC and Brigitte (Guy Comeau) of Campbellton; his 7 grandchildren; his ex-wife Rollande Vallières of Granby, QC; his sisters and a brother: Jeanne-Mance (Daryl Dobson) of Campbellton, Shirley (Ernest Savoie) of Cross Point, Yvon of Campbellton, Carmelle (Eddy Savoie) of Contrecoeur, QC, Corinne (Allain Chouinard) of Cross Point and Suzette (late Robert Goudreau) of Cross Point also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dora & Edgar, his sister and brothers: Marie-Jeanne, Jean-Paul & Jean-Guy.
Melody "Mel" Harvey
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we make known the sudden, unexpected loss of Melody (Mel) Margaret Harvey of Nash Creek, NB. on September 2, 2013.
Born in Dalhousie, NB. February 2,1970 to parents John (Jack) and Emma-Jean (Hornibrook).
A daughter, a sister, an aunt, a mother, a friend. Predeceased by infant son Kyle in 1990 and devoted, loving mother and safe haven to son Colton (at home)
little sister to Lorelei of Moncton, NB., Wayne (Maria) of Nash Creek and Shane (Dawn) of Grand Bay, NB. Loving aunt to Jason, Beth Ann, Candace, Meghan, Ashton, Stephanie, Jonathan and Alyssa. Great aunt to Jasmyne, Sara, Chole, Ethan and Karis.
She will be sadly missed by her immediate family, her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Known for her Big hugs, love of music and free-spiritness. She was young at heart.
A loving heart, concern for others and caring soul led her to an occupation as a care-giver.
Shelly Gauthier
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Shelly Gauthier of Jacquet River, wife of Michael Gauthier who passed away at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Bathurst, September 06, 2013 at the age of 44. Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of Charles & Catherine (Fenelon) Cain.
Shelly was a hairdresser working at Salon 107 in Dalhousie for many years. She was an avid Montreal Canadian fan and loved to read and travel.
She is survived by her husband Michael; parents Charles and Catherine; brother Robert & sister Stacey Mann.
Alfred J. Bujold
Alfred Bujold, 92, of Manoir Antoinette and formerly of Stanley St., Campbellton, NB, passed away on Monday, August 26th, 2013 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Campbellton, NB.
Born in Chandler, QC, he was the son of the late Alphonse and the late Marguerite (née: Diotte) Bujold.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Bujold worked at Canada Post. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus (4th degree), a member of the Club Richelieu and the Club d’Age d’Or. He had a passion for singing and could often be heard singing the national anthem at hockey games and other local functions. He was also a member of Notre-Dame-des-Neiges parish and its church choir for many years.
He is survived by three daughters: Pauline (Luc) Lang of Moncton, Simonne (David) Firth of Dundee, NB and Carole of Calgary, AB; two sons: Jacques (Wilson) of Toronto, ON and Bernard of Montreal, QC; one sister, Jacqueline Ducasse of Sept-Isles, QC; two brothers: Adrien of Montréal and Maurice (Violette) of Renfrew, ON; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Alfred was predeceased by his wife, Rhéa in June 2013 and also by three sisters: Yvette Gould, Irene McKenzie and Rolande Albert.
Elizabeth Jean Sweetman
The passing of Elizabeth Jean (Betty) Sweetman, of Lincoln, NB, occurred on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born on August 6, 1934 in Campbellton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Violet (Barnes) Parlee.
Elizabeth is survived by her children Joyce Hill (James) of Lincoln, NB, Ronald Sweetman (Leslie Skelding) of Moncton, NB, and Kevin Sweetman (Susan) of Lutes Mountain, NB; siblings Joyce McRae of Wilmot, NS, Robert Parlee (Juanita) of Campbellton, NB, Ronald Parlee of Moncton, NB, and Tory Farquhar of King City, ON; grandchildren Stephen Hill (Joani), Shawn Hill, Shaun Skelding, Michelle Skelding and Sarah Sweetman; great grandchild Laragh Hill; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Charlotte Touchie and Shirley Wry.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Campbellton High School where she excelled academically. She worked at NBTel and the T. Eaton Company for many years. Prior to her retirement in 1999 she was a Secretary and Office manager for Consolidated Fastfrate in Moncton, NB. She was a member of Wesley United Church and enjoyed the fellowship there, including the UCW meetings. She was an avid reader and loved family gatherings, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She will be greatly missed.
Edgar "Buddy" LaPointe
The death of Edgar (Buddy) LaPointe of Doyleville occured at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the age of 77. Born in Lorne, he was the son of the late Patrick & Virginia (Carrier) LaPointe.
Early on in his life he was an employee of the I.P. and later Brunswick Smelter for twenty three years until his retirement. He loved Bluegrass music and the outdoors.
Edgar is survived by his wife Wanda, daughter Ann-Marie (Barry) of Doyleville, son Clovis (Ravie) of Edmonton; grandchildren Ryan Doyle & Rekha LaPointe; sister Germaine as well as his brothers Emile, Arsene, Justin & Gordon. He was predeceased by his sister Corinne and brothers Fabian, Philip & Manuel.
