William Foran

Bill died Sept 14, at the age of 88. He is survived by his children Martin, Carole and Robert , daughters-in- law Melody and Judy, son-in-law Leon and 6 grandchildren Will, Thomas, Greg, Stephanie, Mariah, Michael and girlfriend Pat. He is preceded by his wife Mary of 17 years.

Bill was born in Grand Falls Nfld but grew up in Dalhousie NB. He grew up through the depression and was a pillar in his family. He served in WWII on a Corvette as a mariner and contributed to the Battle of the Atlantic. He was in Halifax on D-Day and NYC on VJ-Day. He moved to Montreal and worked for Hewitt Caterpillar at its inception in 1952. He worked in sales and then as a GM over his 35 year career. There he met his wife who was from Charlottetown. He exemplified what it is to be an honourable man and taught his children well about God, work ethic and family values. He loved his parents, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, 7 in-laws and their families. Together they enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing crib, boating, skiing, canoeing the Rustigouche River, hunting, trying to reel in that illusive salmon or a huge tuna. He did a great deal for his local Legion and volunteered his time at soup kitchens. He invested in the education of his children and grandchildren and took pride in their accomplishments. He will be greatly missed but will be remembered with much love and affection.

The family wish to thank the staff of St. Anne’s 2B wing especially his private care givers Jennifer and Jude.
