Bernard Lavoie

Passed away in Campbellton on Thursday September 27th, 2012 at the age of 52. He leaves behind his former wife Doris, his three children; Susan Bartlett (Jordan) of Moncton, Brian (Renee Fournier) and Stacy of Moncton, his mother Marie-Laure L'Oiselle (Raymond Leblanc), his sisters and brothers Ernest (Pierrette), Renaud (Rachel), Lorraine Boudreau (Armand), Estelle Boudreau (Alexandre), Rejean (Louise), Rejeanne Beaudoin (Andre) , Marguerite (Michel), Huguette (Denis), Daniel (Caroline), Gaston (Dora), Manon (Louis ) as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Marc and his sister Renelle Derasp.

Mildred Carrier

The death of Mildred carrier of Dalhousie occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the age of 71. Born in Lorne, she was the daughter of the late Edward & Bertha May (Godin) LaPointe.

Mildred is survived by her husband Ernest, son Ronnie (Laurie) of Eel River Crossing, daughters: Cindy Plourde (David) of Shediac & Shirley Bergeron (Pierre) of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren & five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Claudette Gutard, Lydia Lapointe Larson, Florence Francoeur & Eileen Murray.

She was predeceased by her daughter in July of this year, Wendy Joncas; her brothers Jimmy, Aurel, Alex, Murray & Gabriel as well as her sisters Argentine and Hilda. Pallbearers were; Cook Lapointe, Edgar Guitard, Gerald Lavigne, Bobby Guitard, Jon Erik Bergeron & Matthew Plourde.

Ralph Billingsley

Ralph Billingley passed away on October 1, 2012 at the age of 93.

Prior to his retirement, Ralph was emplyed for over 40 years with the C.N.R. Ralph was born in New Carlisle QC., the son of May (Lemore) and John Billingsley.

He leaves to mourn his wife Viola (MacDonald) Billingsley, sons Gary (Margot) of Fredericton, Jack (Kelly) or Toronto, and daughter Susan (Reginald) Chedore of Campbellton. He also leaves his grandchildren Tanya (Charles) Geraghty Alex (Heather) Billingsley, Lydia (Nick) Billingsley, Meghan Billingsley and Kathryn Billingsley and great grandchildren Hannah and Noah Geraghty and Jasper and Sage Billingsley, sister Inex Chase of Saint John and brother Maxwell Billingsley of Miarmichi, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ralph was an avid fisherman, fly tyer and Restigouche River enthusiast. In 1958 he started tying flies and went on to become one of the best-know commercial hair-wing tyers in Canada. In 1994 Ralph became a member of "Where the Rivers Meet", The Fly Tyers of NB. In 1996 the the Atlantic Salmon Journal recognized Ralph for his contribution to fly tying in NB and as the originator of the "Orange Blossom Special", in 1997 at the Annual Atlantic Salmon Federation/N.B. Salmon Council Dinner, Ralph was honoured for his major contribution to the sport of Angling for Atlantic Salmon in N.B. by having distinguished himself in the art of Craftin and Designing Atlantic Salmon Flies.

Apart from being a skilled fly tyer and angler, he was also an accomplised rod maker, having made over 400 rods. For over thirty-five years, Ralph was a frelance guide on the rivers of NB and QC.

Rene Francoeur

The death of Rene Francoeur of Lorne occurred suddenly at his residence in Lorne Thursday, Oct 4, 2012 at the age of 57.

Born in Lorne, he was the son of the late Leander Francoeur and the late Emma (Godin) Francoeur

He is survived by his sister Rita Murphy and several nieces and nephews. Rene was predeceasewd by his brother Placide and sister Theresa Carrier.

Pallbearers were Adam Francoeur, Leon Hickey, Ashley Murphy, Randy LaPointe, Lindsay Carrier and Bruce Huard.

Hilda Reid

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Village Nursing Home on October 7th, 2012, Hilda, wife of the late Cluny Reid, she was 98 years of age.

Born in Campbellton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Phillip De la Perrelle and the late Catherine Hamilton.

She worked for ten years with the Montreal Gazette. Upon her arrival in Campbellton, she secured a position as housekeeping superintendent at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital. She was an avid curler and bridge player, having contributed a lot of her time and interests in the Duplicate Bridge Club in Campbellton.

During her retirement years, she cruised around the world, having climbed the Great Wall of China on her 80th birthday. She also took great pleasure helping out at the tea room/coffee shop for the patients at the Village Nursing Home.

Hilda, a faithful member of the United Church of Campbellton enjoyed the fellowship of the U.C.W. and involvement in their charitable projects.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Isabel Mann (Donald) of Tide Head, New Brunswick, Mary McDonald (Gerald) of Orangeville, Ontario, Jean Nutt (Brian) of White Rock, BC, James Reid (Lynn) of Edmonton, Alberta, John Reid (Evelyn) of North Bay, Ontario, and Patsy Palmer (Derek) of San Diego, California, her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

William "Bill" MacCallum

It is with sadness that the family of William (Bill) MacCallum and brother of Dave and Carma (Thompson; deceased).

Bill is survived by his wife Regina "Jean" , his daughters Jill (Stephen) Parker and Sally, his grandchildren Olivia and Liam,nieces Beth MacCallum and Jocelyn Thompson Ness, Nephews Ken MacCallum, Gord MacCallum, Doug MacCallum and Colin Thompson.

A native and lifelong resident of Campbellton, Bill was employed with Canada Manpower and Immigration. An avid golfer in earlier years, Bill was a member of the Restigouche Golf and Country Club, was awarded a life membership for outstanding contributions to the Club and served as a member of the Board of Governors of the N.B. Golf Association. He was co-manager of the Campbellton Junior A Tigers, a team that went on to be inducted into the Campbellton Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Board of Stewards of the First United Church, mentor for Lauback Literacy and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

Bill was an avid hockey fan throughout his life and enjoyed spending time at the camp he co-owned with a group of friends on the Kedgwick River.

Charles Killoran

The death of Charlie Killoran of Nash Creek occured at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Bathurst, Oct.04,2012 at the age of 75.Born in Belledune,he was the son of the late Reginald & Phyliss (McGovern) Killoran.

He was a loving husband and father and a pillar in the community. Selfless and compassionate, he gave of his time and himself to all. An avid athlete, he played and coached baseball and hockey in the Belledune area for many years and was instrumental in the foundation of the Chaleur Sports Arena.

He was educated at St. Francis Xavier University and was employed at Brunswick Smelting until his retirement in 1994. He spent his free time watching baseball, raising cattle on the family farm, and making his family laugh.

He is survived by his wife Helen (Harvey);sons Harvey (Jody) of Halifax,Travis (Rachel) of Oromocto;daughters Heidi Strutt (Tim) of Ottawa & Kelly MacCurdy (Justin) of Dalhousie;10 grandchildren;brothers Robert,George & Joe as well as his sisters Roberta Bruno & Phyliss Deslippe.Charlie was predeceased by his brothers Terry,Matt,Gerald & Bernard and sisters Eleonor Kelly & Kay Scarlett.
