Jackson Pollock

Jackson Simon Pollock passed peacefully in his sleep on September 15, 2013 in Campbell River BC at age 64. Born in Glen Levit, to Eva and Simon Pollock (predeceased), Jack spent most of his life working and playing in the area.

After finding the love of his life at an early age, he married Darlene (nee Boudreau) and was blessed with a son (Jeff). Jack spent many years working as a heavy duty mechanic at CN Rail, until he pursued his true passion and began professionally guiding for salmon on the local rivers.

To family and friend's surprise, Jack relocated to Vancouver Island at the age of 52 to be closer to his two grand-daughters (Brianna and Claire). From his home there, he experienced and enjoyed a vast and truly wild land from the steep fjords of Bute and Jervis Inlets, to the endless snow-capped mountains of northern BC., be it by truck, boat, floatplane or helicopter. He loved the West Coast and often said that he wished he had moved there as a young man. He recently discovered west coast salmon fishing and was considering the purchase of an ocean boat to allow him to guide there.

As a true outdoorsman, his lifetime was filled with countless fishing and hunting adventures with family and friends. as demonstrated by the many stories he loved to tell. His moose hunting trips were legendary, passing his hunting knowledge on to his son Jeff, and all his "other sons" who joined in the annual ritual. He had an absolute love and respect for the outdoors which he instilled on all who were lucky enough to call him a friend.

Jack's dedication to family, loyalty to friends and honesty to both will be greatly missed.

Jack is predeceased by siblings Linda Dalton and Carrie

Jack is survived by siblings, Donald (Freida), Danny (Darlene), David (Joy), Reid (Ellis), Boyd (Evelyn), Roger (Karen), Wayne (Agnes), Chery (Ronnie), Diana and Gloria as well as many nieces and nephews.
