The Graphic,
Arlington Hotel
Feb 4, 1910

The Arlington Hotel has thrown its doors open to the public.

The fine hotel is a credit to the energetic propeirtor Mr. John McIntyre and to the town of Campbellton. The main building is of brick, 75X100 feet, four storeys with a cement basement basement the full size of the building.

The first floor contains the office, writing room, dining room, ladies parlor and writing room, bar and café. The halls are all spacious and light. The finishing throughout is in natural woods oiled and varnished.

On the second, third and fourth floors are about forty first class bedrooms, comfortably furnished, and each with a large hot water radiator for heating. The rooms are fitted with electric bells and telephones. On each floor are bath rooms and lavatories, etc.

To the rear situated an ell in which are kitchen, laundry and pantries.

The ouse is heated by hot water and will be comfortable in all weather. Also on each floor fire plugs have been located to which fire hose can be attached. Fire scapes from each floor will also be installed shortly.

The heating plant and plumbing were installed by W. E. Forbes for which Mr. English is the local manager and the workmanship is of the best.

The building was constructed under the supervision of Bryan Annett and is certainly a credit to his workmanship. In its construction preference was given to local mechanics and it is said that the entire job was done by local men, which is quite a contrast to the order of things prevailing here in years gone by and to all appearances the work is up to the mark. The painting and interior decorating was done under the supervision of James Woods while Harry Andrew attended to the electric wiring. The brickwork was done by Thos. Dickie and plastering by Henry Goudin.

McIntyre solicits the patronage of the commercial and travelling public and guarantees a first class service in everu res[ect. A first class manager has been secured and a popular night clerk will shortly be engaged who will meet all trains.

This new hotel will help to fill the need for better hotel accomodation for Campbellton and we wish it all success.
