On March 25, 1936, the 3 children of M. and Mrs. Arthur Ouellet of Arran Street West., Campbellton lost their lives when they home was completely destroyed by fire on March 25. The victims were the entire family of the Ouellet's and wer James, Cathaleen and Doreen, aged 2 yrs and 9 months, 1 year and 9 months, and 9 months. The mother was absent from the home when the fire of unknown origin began, and although rescue attempts were made, all efforts failed. The charred bodies of the 3 little children were recovered only after the flames had spent their fury. An inquest resulted in a verdict of accidental death.
