First Crude System About the year 1891 the first crude telephone system, which resembles those of later years was installed in Campbellton. This was established by Mr. R. Boss of Bathurst, N.B. who is now District Superintendent for the N.B. Telephone Co. A few years ago prior to this venture in Campbellton, Mr. Boss has installed a similar service in Bathurst, where he later organized the Gloucester Telephone Co. and establishes an exchange.
