First Survey for water supply was authorized in 1890

First recorded issue of bonds for this purpose was $55,000

Campbelltons' first steps towards securing an adequate water supply, which would be handled by the Town administration, were taken in September 1890, when a survey of lands in the Prichard Lake area was authorized.

The first issue of debentures, totaling $55,000 for the purpose of defraying expenses in connection with the proposed water supply project, was advocated at a meeting of the Council December 26th and application was made to the New Brunswick Legislature for the necessary legislation.
