George Munroe

Le Village Huron of Loretteville, Qc., is saddened to learn of the death of George Munroe on July 5, 2001, at St Foy Laval Hospital.

Born in Campbellton on December 22, 1911 he was the son of the late Sylvanus and Erma Belle Munroe of Atholville.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, five brothers and one sister. He leaves to mourn two brothers, Ralph of Campbellton adn Arnold of Ocala, Florida.

He was married to Lea Ferland of St Fidele, Qc., for 46 years. George had one daughter Shirley Scarfo of Vancouver, B.C.

He served in the Canadian Army from 1939 to 1945. He was a private in the Second World War and was decorated with a Defence Medal, CAnadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and War Medal 1939 to 1945. George was a lumber mill worker in Atholville and Pointe à la Croix. He also worked in a showshoe factory in Village Huron, Qc.

He was a kind and hard working man until his last day.

He will always be remembered by family and friends as a kind and passionate person who was always there in time of need.

He will be missed dealy by his wife Lea. He will always be in her heart.

Cora Keeley

Cora Keeley of Campbellton passed away at Campbellton Nursing Home July 13, she was 86.

Born in Campbellton October 9, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Irvine Campbell and Alice Prudence Cochrane. She was a CWL member and belonged to Elizabeth T.U. Seniors.

She is survived by her daughter Alice Doucette, Campbellton; Cheryl (George) Berube, Miramichi; sons Jack (Raymonde), Moncton, Irvine (Isabelle), Atholville; Terry (Vivian), Richibucto; Gary (Ginette), Atholville; Wayne (Lousie) Bridgewater, N.S.; brother Henry Campbell, Riverview, N.B.: 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She is pre-deceased by her husband Ronald Keeley; son Kenneth, Grand Falls; thre sisters and one brother.

Darlene O'Connell The death of Darlene O'Connell of Pointe à la Croix, Qc., occurred July 6, at the age of 41.

She was born on March 8, 1960 to Patrick O"Connell and the late Irene Teed.

Besides her father, she is survived by her son Jason LaLonde and her daughter Renée LaLonde, both of Arizona, U.S.A., her sisters Brenda Murray of Campbellton and Patricia Beaulieu of Edmonton, Alberta and her brother Michael O'Connell of Campbellton.

Lloyd Travers

Lloyd Travers died in Lachine, Qc., on July 8, 2001 at the age of 69. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Travers and loving father of Gail and Robin.

Thank you for all that you have given us. You will always be in our hearts. You will be sadly missed.

Love forever. Margaret, Gail and Robin.

Claude Cardinal

Claude Cardinal of Dalhousie passed away at Moncton City Hospital July 13, 2001. He was 71.

Born in Beauport, Qc., on September 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Antonio Cardinal and Eva Blondeau.

A foreman at the Dalhousie Mill, he is survived by his wife Andree (Roussel) Cardinal of Dalhousie; daughters of Linda Cormier (Rejean) of Balmoral; Joanne Cardinal of Dalhousie; son Denis Cardinal of Miramichi; sisters Therese Vallee (Francois), Ghislaine Vezina (Marc), Jeanne Bernier (Jean-Yves), Celine Pelletier (Guy) all of Beauport, Qc; Betty Simoneau (Paul) of Charlesbourg, Qc., brothers Andre Cardinal (Edith) of Chicoutimi, Qc., Lucien Cardinal (Andree) Of Beauport, Qc., and Michelle Cardinal (Marcelle) of Courville, Qc.; three grand-daughters Annie, Caroline and Emilie.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, two sisters; Rolande and Mariette.
