Byron MacCurdy

The death of Byron MacCurdy of Black Point, husband of the late Gertha Hornibrook, occurred Sunday, December 25, 2005, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 88.

Born in Black Point, he was the son of James MacCurdy and Catherine Hamilton.

He is survived by his sons Douglas (Carol) of Black Point, Willard of Moncton, daughters Mary Doskas (George) of Burton, Kathryn Vincent (Rodney) of Quispamsis. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Helen, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

He was predeceased by his sisters Helen, and Margaret and brother Lindsay.

His funeral was held from Bethel United Church, Nash Creek, on Wednesday, December 28, 2005, officiated by Rev. Olive Ann Archibald, with burial to take place in the New Mills United Cemetery in the spring. Pallbearers were Rodney Vincent, Jodi Daley, George MacCurdy, Stephen Doucet, Finley Cook, and Kevin Hamilton. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Cora Doucet

The death of Cora Doucet, of Charlo, occurred December 21, 2005, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 75.

Born in Charlo, she was the daughter of Joseph LeBlanc and Obeline LeBlanc.

She is survived by her husband Alphee, daughters Marcella Young (Tom) of Shubenacadie, Shelley Aube (Clarence) of Charlo, Lynn Roy (Richard) of Charlo, Paula Doucet of Charlo, Rachel Doucet of Dundee and grandchildren Michael Aube, Sean Aube, and Trevor Roy. Also, surviving are sisters Olivette Levesque, Victoria Campbell, Lorraine Doucet, and Gilberte LeBlanc.

She was predeceased by her sisters Sylvia, Albertine, brothers Lionel, Edward, and Tony.

Her funeral service was held at St. Joseph Church, Nash Creek, on Friday December 23, 2005, officiated by Father David Ferguson with burial in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence Aube, Michael Aube, Sean Aube, Tom Young, Richard Roy, and Trevor Roy. Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point.

Geraldine Fraser

The death of Geraldine Fraser, of 9 Gerrard Street, Campbellton, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 25, 2005.

Born in Cross Point, PQ, on July 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Sinclair McNaughton and the late and Irene Adams. Geraldine worked for 20 years as a secretary to the administrator with the city of Campbellton, she was a member of the First United Church and the U.C.W.

Surviving are her daughters Sharon (Owen) Jelly of Campbellton and Nancy Fraser of Coombs, B.C., her sister Carol Greene of Edmonton, Alb., and her brother Gerald McNaughton of Campbellton. Also surviving are grandchildren Shannon, Lindsay and Lianne Jelly of Campbellton, Darren and Katie Terhune of Coombs, B.C., and Amy Fraser of Montreal, as we as several nieces and nephews.

Predeceasing were her parents Sinclair and Irene, her husband H.S. (Shrimp) Fraser, her son Stephen, and her brother Bev McNaughton.

The funeral was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel on December 30, 2005, officiated by Rev. Raymond Kraglund, with interment in the Campbellton Rural Cemetery in the spring. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Kathryn Larocque

The death of Kathryn Larocque of 11 Dundee Road in Listuguj, PQ, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 24, 2005, at the age of 46.

Born in Campbellton on October 24, 1959, she was the daughter of Philomene Larocque.

Surviving is her brothers Tommy and Joseph both of Listuguj.

She was predeceased by her sister Janice Larocque.

The funeral was held from St. Ann's Church in Listuguj on December 28, 2005, officiated by Rev. Landry, with interment in St. Ann's Cemetery in the spring. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Leo H. Gallant

The death of Leo H. Gallant of Pointe Verte, N.B., and formerly of Dalhousie, occurred at the Bathurst Regional Hospital on December 26, 2005, at the age of 77.

Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Henri Gallant and the late Josephine Arseneault. He was a finisher at the N.B.I.P. Mill in Dalhousie.

Surviving are his daughters Diane (Reno) Good of Dalhousie, Doris Babin of Dalhousie, Suzanne (Rejean) Rioux of Moncton, Pauline Gallant of Dalhousie and Carolle Gallant of Moncton, his sons Richard (Odille) Gallant of Eel River Crossing and Gilles (Chantal) Gallant of Dieppe, and his sisters Rita of Campbellton, Antoinette of Montreal and Corinne of Ottawa.

Predeceasing were his parents Henri and Josephine and his wife Yvonne Guitard.

The funeral was held from St. John the Baptist Church in Dalhousie on December 30, 2005, officiated by Rev. Yvon Doiron, with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Marion Fitzgerald

The death of Marion Fitzgerald of 11 des Saumons in Matapedia, PQ, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 25, 2005, at the age of 78.

Born in Campbellton on November 17, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Earl Fitzgerald and the late Mary Ross.

Surviving are her daughters Sally Huntington and Susan Grey, her son Gary Huntington, her sisters Linda Durette, Jeannie Fay, and Vyra Rice, and her brother Ray Fitzgerald.

The funeral was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel on December 29, 2005, officiated by Rev. Arnold Godsoe of the Anglican Church, with interment in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in the spring. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Paul Lapointe

The death of Paul Lapointe 81, of Eel River Crossing, husband of Marcia (Vienneau) Lapointe, occurred on December 26, 2005, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital.

He was the son of the late Edouard Lapointe and Florence (Cayouette) Lapointe. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Mona; Myrtle (Denis Bujold); two sons; Claude (Diane Lafrenière) and Leonard (Denise Savoie).

He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Caroline, Christian, Maxime, Serge, Sophie, Steve and Stéphane. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters; Éveline and Thérese and three brothers; Francis, Pierre and Walter.

The funeral mass was celebrated on Thursday, December 29, 2005, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Eel River Crossing. Donations in his memory made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Shirley B. Warren

The death of Shirley B. Warren, of Dalhousie, occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 28, 2005, at the age of 69.

Born in Matapedia, PQ, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Lawlor and the late Mona Murray. Shirley worked for many years as a cafeteria supervisor.

Surviving are her daughters Cathy Warren of Dalhousie, Joy Berthelot of Campbellton, and Pam Traer of Dalhousie Junction, her son Roy Warren of Dalhousie, her brothers Joe Lawlor and Pete Lawlor both of Dalhousie, as well as 11 grandchildren.

Predeceasing her were her parents Gordon and Mona, her husband Buddy (Vernon) Warren, her daughter Shirley, her sister Isabel and her brother Danny.

The funeral was held from St. Mary's Anglican Church in Dalhousie on December 31, 2005, officiated by Rev. Andrew Fraser, with interment in the New Mills Cemetery in the spring. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Wanda Gaudin Keays

The death of Wanda Gaudin Keays of Escuminac, Que., occurred at Saint-Sacrement Hospital in Quebec City on December 4, 2005, at the age of 69.

Born in Escuminac, Que., on May 11, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Medora Hunter and Stanley Gaudin.

She is survived by her husband, Merle Keays, her daughter Sherri of Cambpellton, her son Curtis (Sylvie) of Escuminac Flats, and her five grandchildren, Melanie, Monica, Melissa, Melinda, and Frederick; her sisters Verna Gaudin Nicol of Sillarsville, Que., Helen Gaudin Gregoire (Harvey) of Broadlands, Que., and her brother Lyle Gaudin (Kathleen) of Port Cartier, Que.

She is predeceased by her infant daughter, Shelley, her brothers, Rayburn, Maylon, Milo, and Ken Gaudin and stepfather, Chester Court.

The funeral was held at Escuminac United Church on December 8, 2005, officiated by Rev. Geneviève Trudel. Pallbearers were Clifford Hayes, Darryl Gray, Amon McKinnon, Dennis Dickie, Harvey Gregoire, and Byron Court. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
