Celestin (Teetle) Hickey

The death of Celestin (Teetle) Hickey of Lorne, husband of Georgette Hickey, occured Saturday, December 23, 2006, at Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 73. Born in Lorne, the son of the late Frank Hickey and Laura (Bertin). He is survived by his wife Georgette, sons Randolph (Patsy) of Nash Creek, Craig (Rose) of Oxford, Missippissi, Cleve (Julie) of Bathurst, 5 grandchildren, and brother Irvine.

He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Rita and Sylvia.

His funeral was held Thursday, December 28, 2006, from St. Maria Goretti Church, Lorne, officiated by Father David Ferguson.

Charles William Court

Passed away at the Centre L'Envol on December 15, 2006 at the age of 101, Mr. Charles William Court of Escuminac. He was the son of the late Ida Keays and the late Leonard Court.

He leaves to mourn his sisters Rhoda Price and Leona Price, his brother Graham Court. Also survived by several nieces and nephews Garth (Gail) Court, Leonard (Karen) Court, Scott (Julie) Court, Jean (Stuart) Maisey, Russell (Barbara) Court, Joyce (Carson) McDavid, Mike (Sue) Court, Ron (Ava) Court, Bryce Court and many more. Predeceased by his sisters Myrtle (Robert) Kerr, Dora (Johnny) Bryant and Lyla (Samuel) Pike, his brothers Herbert Court and Carrol (Caroline) Court.

The funeral service was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel, on Monday December 18th at 2pm. Reverand Geneviève Trudel officiating. Interment at the Escuminac United Church Cemetery in the spring. Pallbearers were Michel Cellard, Garth Court, Leonard Court, John Maisey, Russell Court and Ward Price.

Francine Alphonsine Morrison

Passed away at her residence on December 22, 2006 at the age of 60, Mrs. Francine Alphonsine Morrison of Dalhousie, wife of the late Robert Morrison.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Carolle (Danny) Fournier of Paris ON and Diane (Marc) Landry of Dalhousie, her son Sean (Sandie) Morrison of Cornwall, PEI, 7 grandchildren Melanie, Stephanie, Danielle, Natasha, Keyshia, Grace and Libby, also 1 great grandchild Landon. Predeceased by her father Alphonse Landry and her mother Andrea Theriault.

The funeral mass was held from St. John Bosco Church, Dalhousie on Tuesday December 26th at 2pm. Father Bill Arseneault officiating. Interment at St. John Bosco Cemetery in Dalhousie.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Mildred McMillan

Mildred (McAlister) McMillan, on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in her 93rd year. Born in Jacquet River on April 23, 1914. Mildred spent numerous summers in Jacquet River. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Stewart McMillan (1957). Loving mother of Elizabeth (Betty) McMillan, Robert (Bob) and his wife Nancy, Harvie (Harv) and his wife Deborah, David (Dave) and his wife Susan. Loved by 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Lindsay (Myrtle) McAlister and Eleanor (Lewis) Hurley. Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James A. Harris funeral Home, 220 St. James Street at Richmond. The funeral service was conducted at Colborne Street United Church, 711 Colborne Street at Piccadilly, on Saturday, December 23 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Sleeping Children Around the World, 28 Pinehurst Crescent, Toronto, Ontario M9A 3A5 would be gratefully acknowledged.

Marion Mildred MacCurdy

The death of Marion Mildred MacCurdy (nee Ward) of Dalhousie, NB occurred on Monday, December 25, 2006 at Dalhousie Nursing Home. Born in Campbellton, NB daughter of the late Henrietta (Etta) Henderson and Henson Ward. She is survived by her son, Jon of Mississauga, Ontario. Granddaughter Cheryl Jaster-Rhyno of Halifax, grandson Morgan MacCurdy of Mississauga and great-grandsons Brandon and Shayne Keel of Halifax. Many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter Merrilee. Her greatest joy came from having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her.

Funeral services were held at St. John's United Church, Dalhousie, NB on Friday, December 29, 2006. The service was conducted by Rev. Roland Hutchinson.

We will miss you so very much Mom/Nanny. We love you a bushel and a peck and hug around the neck.

Ronald (Ron) Sweeney

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 26th , Ronald Sweeney of Charlo and formerly from Ottawa, son of the late Robert Sweeney and the late Hilda Prestly.

Ron was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force for five years as an electronics technical air serviceman.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marlene St Pierre of Charlo and his children Steven of Balmoral (Odette LeBlanc), Lynn of Edmonton, AB (Marc Des Lauriers), Ronald of Fort McMurray, AB (Judith Monjon) and also six grandchildren: Cindy, Shawn, Kathleen, Krista, Korey and Gerrick. He will also be sadly missed by his only brother Robert of Manotic, ON and also his six nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held this coming summer 2007 in Charlo.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lung Association of New Brunswick.
