Alice Daigle
The death of Alice Daigle occured peacefully Saturday December 30,2006 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 72 surrounded by her husband & loving family.Born in Jacquet River NB.,she was the daughter of the late William Bertin & Delhia Guitard.
She was pre-deceased by her infant daughter Mary & brothers Eli & Daniel & sisters Alfreda Hoare & Florence Legacy.She is survived by her husband of 54 years James Daigle,children Elizabeth Daigle(Ed) of Bathurst,Robert Daigle(Linda) of Belledune,& Evangeline Daigle (Marcel)of Belledune as well as four grandchildren Jamie,Todd,Sherrie & Brad.She is also survived by her sister Janet Lanteigne,brothers George Bertin & Charlie Bertin as well as several neices & nephews.
Her funeral mass was held from St.Gabriels Church,Jacquet River, Tuesday January 2,2007, officiated by Father David Ferguson with burial to take place in the Parish Cemetery in the spring.Pallbearers were Ed Kelly,Marcel Thibeault,Jamie Thibeault,Brad & Todd Daigle,& Matt Doucet.Funeral arrangements were in the care of MacMillans Funeral Home,Black Point.www.macmillansfuneralhome.ca.
Dorothy Helen Connors Pollock
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 19, 2006, at the age of 82, Mrs. Dorothy Helen Connors Pollock of Campbellton.
She was a member of St. John's United Church, Broadlands, UCW. She had great pride in being a lifetime member of the Hong Kong Veterans Association.
She leaves to mourn her sons: Terry Pollock of Campbellton and Hartley Pollock of Campbellton, her sister: Alda Collins of Broadlands, QC. Also survived by grandchildren Jillian Pollock, Brent Pollock, Jason Pollock, Matthew Pollock, Andrew Pollick, great grandson Mattix Pollock. Predeceased by her husband Kirk Allen Pollock, her mother May Alice Gregoire, her father Leopold Alexander Connors, her brother John Connors.
The funeral service was held from the First United Church, Campbellton on Friday December 22nd at 11am. Rev Geneviève Trudel and Rev Raymond Kraglund officiating. Interment in the spring at the Kempt Road Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jillian Pollock, Brent Pollock, Andrew Pollock and Jackie Gregoire.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Edith Beatrice Sharpe
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 28, 2006, at the age of 94, Mrs. Edith Beatrice Sharpe of Atholville and formerly of Wyer's Brook.
She leaves to mourn her daughters Elizabeth (Betty) Olsen (Ernest), Elliot Lake, ON, Cheryl Parker (Roderique) Peterborough, ON and Muriel Sharpe of Tide Head, her brothers Allison MacDonald of Oshawa, ON, Hazen MacDonald of Nacawic, NB and William MacDonald of Campbellton. Also survived by her grandchildren Hayley LeFurgey-Guitard of Tide Head, Georgina Olsen of Oshawa, ON, Billie Rae Matheson of Alberta, Jack Hilton of Peterborough, ON and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband William Sharpe, her mother Ethel Downs, her father John MacDonald, her sisters-in-law Irene MacDonald of Hamilton, ON and Dorothy Sharpe of Campbellton, granddaughter Candace Olsen, sister Elizabeth Haywood, brothers Alexander (Sandy), Raymond (Ray), George, Havelock (Bub), Douglas (Dougie), Donald, two half-sisters Susie Boutaught and Rita Kierstead.
The funeral service was held from St. Andrews United Church, Tide Head on Saturday December 30th at 2pm. Rev Wendell Gregan, M.ED, LPM, officiating. Interment in the spring at the Dawsonville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Douglas Sharpe, Barry Sharpe, Russell Irvine, James Babcock, Curtis McDavid and Roger Pollock.

Elizabeth Kierstead Moran
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 29, 2006 at the age of 77, Mrs. Elizabeth Kierstead Moran of Matapedia and formerly of Glen Levit.
She leaves to mourn her daughters Sheena (Derek) Tynski of Halifax, NS and Donna Moran of Moncton, NB, her sons Shayne (Margot) Moran of Amherst, NS, Michael (Holly) Moran of Saint John, NB, and Kevin (Sheryl) Moran of Pointe Claire, QC, her brother Fred Kierstead of Toronto, ON. Also survived by 2 granddaughters Rachel and MacKenzie, 4 grandsons Adam, Logan, Alexander and Connor, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband George, sister Eileen Boudreau, brothers Mac and Roland Kierstead.
The funeral service was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel, on Monday January 1st at 11am. Rev. Wendall Gregan, LPM officiating. Pallbearers were Dallas Boudreau, Derek Tynski, Gordon Kierstead, Dwayne Kierstead and Allie Wilson.

James "Arnold" Duncan
James "Arnold" Duncan, 92, passed away at Victoria Hospital on December 23, 2006 after a short battle with leukemia. Born in Balmoral, N.B. on December 31, 1913, Arnold was a steam plant superintendent with Canadian Internation Paper in Dalhousie, N.B. and Temiscaming, Quebec, and with GSW here in London. He was a long-term member of Empress United Church, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret, Arnold will be deeply missed by his children, Dr. Jeanne Duncan of Saint John, N.B., Judy Mitchell and her husband Paul of Sarasota, Florida, Jim of London, Brian of Whitby and Debbie Merritt of Mississauga; his grandchildren, Bryan Mitchell of Los Angeles, California and Tarah Weaver and husband Russ of Vienna, Virginia; and two beautiful great granddaughters, Greta and Riley Weaver. Well known for his hard work and often unsolicited generosity, Arnold will be fondly remembered by his many friends and neighbors. Visitations were held at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North where the funeral and committal services was conducted on Wednesday, December 27, 2006, with Rev. Lorenzo Ramirez officiating. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Arnold are asked to consider Empress United Church. JOSEPH D. COUGHLAN
1921 - 2007
Joseph D. Coughlan, 85, of Campbellton, passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007, at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Born in Campbellton, NB, he was the son of the late Peter J. and the late Edith (Harrison) Coughlan.
He retired from the CNR as a machinist after 44+ years of service. He was a member of the Legion and a parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas R.C.C. He is survived by his wife: Geraldine (Richard) Coughlan; one daughter, Cora of Dieppe; one son, Richard of Saint John; one sister, Helen Spinney of Fredericton; one grandson, Ryan and his mother Laurie McRae of Saint John. He was predeceased by two sisters: Evelyne & Orella.
Funeral mass was celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, January 5th, 2007 at 11 am. Father Bill Arseneault officiating. Interment in Campbellton Rural Cemetery.

Kenneth Brian Lyons
1959 - 2006
Kenneth, son of Henry and Isabel Lyons of Mann Settlement, QC, passed away on December 26, 2006 at the age of 47.
Kenneth was a member of the Hong Kong Commemorative Association. Kenneth loved the river. He enjoyed chauffeuring his parents be it in the boat or in the Chrysler.
He leaves to mourn his parents Henry and Isabel (Mann) Lyons, his sisters Eleanor (Bernie) Mahoney, Heather (Bob) Gauvin and Debrah (Rick) Watling, his brothers Vimy (Vera), Vaughn and Conrad (Joanne). Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from Maher's Funeral Chapel, Campbellton, on Sunday December 31st at 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers were his nephews Tim, Duane and Jeffrey Lyons, Brent Mahoney, Michael Watling and his grandnephew Steven Connors Jr. Honorary pallbearers were his sisters Eleanor, Heather and Debrah and his niece Debbie Connors.
Commital service will be held in Mann Settlement Baptist Cemetery in the spring.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Marie Louise Guité
Passed away at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home at the age of 93, Mrs. Marie Louise Guité.
She leaves to mourn her daughter Annette (Charles) Allain, her sons Pierre (Pauline) Guité, Charles (Lucile) Guité and Patrice (Hélène) Guité, also 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband Émile, her son Jacques and her daughter Madeleine.
The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Snow Church, Campbellton on Friday January 5th at 2pm. Father Morrison officiating.

G. Reginald Law
Mr. G. Reginald Law of Campbellton passed away peacefully on the Veterans' Unit at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 31, 2006, at the age of 86.
Mr. Law retired from the Canadian National Railway in 1974 and subsequently worked for several years with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was a Prisoner of War in Hong Kong for approximately 4 years. He was very active with the Hong Kong Veterans' Association in an executive capacity up to the position of first vice president. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a member of the Knights of Columbus and was very active in the church.
Mr. Law spent a significant amount of time in his life working on behalf of the Hong Kong Veterans and their families. He was celebrated for his efforts by being awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal.
Reg was a good husband, father and friend. He will be sadly missed.
He leaves to mourn his wife Eileen Leblanc, his daughters Sharon (Gilles) Cormier and Marsha (Patrick) Hello, his son Wayne Law, his stepsons Marc Leblanc (Karen Ann) and Raymond Leblanc. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 1st wife Hectorine Roy and his parents Charles and Margaret Law.
The funeral mass was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on January 3, 2007, with Father Bill Arseneault officiating, assisted by Father Hache, Chaplain at the Campbellton Regional Hospital and friend of the family. Pallbearers were Jacques Cormier, Marc Cormier, Peter Hello, Anthony Hello, Marc Leblanc and Raymond Leblanc. Honorary pallbearers included Mayor Mark Ramsey, Ulysse Barriault, Ronald Roy and Maurice Parker. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
