Earl Walker

The death of Earl Walker of Black Point occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Thursday, January 10, 2008 at the age of 78. Born in Strabane, Ont., he was the son of the late Herb Walker & Venetia (Waller).

Earl was employed at Brunswick Smelter, Belledune for 22 years.

He is survived by his wife Daisy (Cline), daughter Brenda of Black Point, sons Bruce (Valerie) of Grand Prairie Alberta and David of Fredericton as well as his brother Glen of Strabane, Ont. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Donald. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Donations to the Palliative care unit at the Campbellton Regional Hospital in memory of Earl would be appreciated by the family. Évangeline Comeau
1927-2008

Évangeline "Nin" Comeau, 80, wife of the late John H. Comeau of the Villa Providence, and formerly of Main St., Shediac passed away at the Villa Providence on Saturday, January 5, 2008.

Born July 12, 1927 in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Philippe and Ethel Bujold. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1991.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her five children: Joanne Comeau (Derrick Allen) and Suzanne Comeau (Mike Chadwick) of Shediac, Kathy Roth (Randy) of Moncton, Marc (Hélène Morin) of Courtice, ON, and Mike of Dieppe; two brothers: Lomer Bujold (Germaine) of Moncton and Arthur Bujold of Campbellton; and eight grandchildren: Luc, Mathieu, Natalie, Kevin, Andrew, Vanessa, Denis and Élyse.

She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University, class of 1949. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Comeau was a dietician at the Hotel Dieu and the Moncton Hospitals. She also taught Home Economics at la Polyvalente Louis-J-Robichaud High School in Shediac. She was a dedicated member of the Shediac Lions Club, and the Silver Sands Seniors Club.

Visitation at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac, N. B. (532-3297) on Monday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. until departure at 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Saint-Joseph R.C. Church, Shediac, N. B. Interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Gerard Savoie

At the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 4, 2008 at the age of 63 years, passed away Gerard Savoie of Campbellton, husband of Claudette (Landry) Savoie, and son of late Ludger Savoie and late Agnes Bouchard.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Claudette of Campbellton, his children: Micheal (Deanne) of Ottawa and Sylvie (John Evasuk) of Ottawa; his 3 grandchildren: Brayden, Presli and Evan; his sisters and brothers: Yvon (Joanne) of Mountain Brook, Claude (Lynn) of Tetagouche, Jean-Louis (Josette) of Balmoral, Lionel of Moncton, Maurice (Betty) of Hamilton, Ont., Robert of Mountain Brook, Rheal (Monique) of Missassauga, Ont., Monique of Charlo, Cecile of Chelsford, Ont., Helene (Howard Hickey) of New Mills and Rose-Aline of Campbellton. Many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends will also miss him.

His parents and his brother Noël predeceased him.

The funeral was held on January 8, 2008 at the Our Lady of Snows Church, Campbellton, and celebrated by Father Romeo Morrison with burial in the parish cemetery in the spring. Pallbearers were Robert Savoie, Claude Savoie, Jean-Louis Savoie, Yvon Savoie, Steve Audet and Richard Landry.

Margaret Wheeler

Margaret passed away peacefully December 27, 2007 at the Dalhousie Nursing Home in her 95th year.

Margaret was born January 13, 1913, in Dalhousie NB, the daughter of Donald and Janet MacNeill. Margaret graduated in nursing from the Soldiers Memorial Hospital where she spent much of her career. She spent her later years nursing at St. Josephs Hospital in Dalhousie.

Predeceased by her husband Fred and her eldest son David, she is lovingly remembered by her son Dan (Jane) Delta, BC, her six grandchildren, her eleven great grandchildren, her sister Helen Brown of Escuminac, QC and her brother Clyde of Dalhousie.

Her family wishes to thank the staff of the Dalhousie Nursing Home for the loving and compassionate care they gave to Margaret particularly in the last few months of her life. A memorial service will be held at the Dawsonville Cemetery at a later date.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Ralph Munroe

Munroe - Ralph Wellington - passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 27 at the age of 82.

Ralph was the son of Erma Belle Clark and Sylvanus Munroe of Atholville. He was a WWII veteran, serving with the air force in Labrador. He worked at the Atholville paper mill for 44 years and was a proud member of the Canadian Paperworker Union local 160. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church, the Caledonian Society of Restigouche and the Legion Branch 19. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Verna (Bulmer) Munroe, daughters Christine Jellett of Wabasca Alberta and Catherine (Alvin) Doull of Campbellton, brother Arnold (Marie) of Florida, grandchildren Eric and Emily Doull, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Florence, brothers George, Howard, Willie, Albert and John and grandson Roderick Jellett.

Funeral service was held on December 30th with Pastor Doug Philips officiating. Special music in keeping with Ralph's love of birds was On Eagles Wings recorded by Judy Savoy and On the Wings of a Dove sung by the congregation accompanied by Doug Philips, Ken Carter and Marcel Dube on guitars. Mr. Harold Wilbur played the organ, daughter Christie Jellett delivered the eulogy and Mrs. Susan Christie read the scripture. Pastor Philips delivered a message entitled the Greatest Gift of All. Rose Marie Doucet
October 29, 1929 - November 15, 2007

Peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital in her 78th year, Rose Marie Doucet of 188 Lily Lake Road, Campbellton New Brunswick, passed away. She was the wife of the late Richard Earl Doucet. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered.

Rose Marie, or Bobbie as she was known to her family and friends, was born in Campbellton the 29th of October, 1929; she was the daughter of the late Harry Boudreau and Eva Tardif. On September 5th, 1949 she was united in marriage to Richard Earl Doucet, enjoying 56 years of marriage before his death in 2006. She was a member of the CWL at St Thomas Aquinas Church and could often be seen helping out at various parish functions. Throughout her life Rose Marie always enjoyed making sweets for others as well as the many garage sales that she attended. In her later years she became a member of the St Louis Lane Seniors club as well as the Malcolm St Seniors club, which she enjoyed very much.

She is survived by her sons Garry (Lynn) of Campbellton New Brunswick, and Wayne (Claudette) of Manitoulin Island. Ontario; her daughter Barbara (Gilles) Belanger of Chipman, New Brunswick; her six grandchildren, Jeremiah, Tara, Jessica, Tiffany, Line and Cindy; her sister Therese (Jean) Roussy; and by nieces, nephews , other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Earl in 2006 and infant son Richard in 1950, brothers Hector, Art, Joe, Willard, Leo; sisters Blanche and Anita.

Her funeral, officiated by Father Bill Arsenault, was held from St. Thomas Aquinas on Friday the 21st of December, 2007 and followed with burial in the parish cemetery.
