Glen Edgar Mowat

My father Glen Edgar Mowat, of Mount Pleasant Avenue Toronto passed away in hospital from complications of his long battle with M.S. around 11pm Wednesday July 13 2011. He is survived by us two sons, Brian Maxwell of Owen Sound, John Glen of Toronto, and granddaughters Chantel and Olivia.

The funeral will be held at Heritage Funeral Center on Monday July 18th at 1pm, visitation at 12pm. Glen was born at the Soldiers Memorial hospital in Campbellton on June 13th 1937, and was very active in cadets and hockey as a young man to the extent that he played for the UNB hockey team while attending the Fredericton Campus.

Late in life he ran into his old coach who had also coached NHL, and this gentleman claimed Glen was the fastest skater he had ever worked with.

He developed multiple schlerosis around the age of 24 years, and stubbornly fought to keep active and useful working, driving, and taking care of himself for decades from a wheelchair. His popular resume business did well in Fredericton and Toronto for many years, and had to be regretfully given up only recently.

Always with a ready smile and a corny joke, he was ever ready to get together with friends and family despite any hardships caused by his handicap.

He will be missed by all.

-- Bye for now,

John Mowat
