Armel A. Desrosiers

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 12, 2007 at the age of 69, Mr. Armel Desrosiers of Atholville. Born on May 30, 1937 in Balmoral, he was the son of the late John Desrosiers and the late Eugenie Diotte.

He leaves to mourn his wife Odette Noel Desrosiers, his daughter Helene Desrosiers Godin (Patrice) Atholville, his sons Luc (Francine Losier) Desrosiers from Fredericton and Yves (Manon Maltais) Desrosiers from Val D'Amours, his sisters Rejeanne Desrosiers from Montreal, Diane (Denis Gagne) Rimouski, his brothers Omer (Simonne Savoie) Desrosiers from Atholville, Amedee (Annie Maltais) Desrosiers Balmoral and Claude Desrosiers from Bathurst.

Also 5 grandchildren Mathieu, Francois, Alexis, Francis et Felix. Predeceased by two sisters Eveline and Gisele and one grandson Philippe.

Andre Blaquiere

Passed away at the Village Nursin Home on January 12, 2007 at the age of 71, Mr. Andre Blaquiere. Son of the late Wilfred Blaquiere and the late Marie-Luce Berube.

He leaves to mourn his wife Cecile Malenfant Blaquiere from Atholville, his two daughters Monique Poirier from Bathrust and Micheline (Paul ) Leblanc from Eel River, his three sons Gilles (Chantal) Blaquiere from Atholville, Denis (Nathalie) Blaquiere from Tide Head and Allain (Lynn) Blaquiere from Atholville, seven sisters Fernande Blaquiere from Atholville, Annette Blaquiere from Montreal, Gabrielle (Wilfred) Lanteigne from Atholville, Adrienne (Charles ) Dube from Chicoutimi, Claire (Ken) Meaker from Alberta, Rose Emma Blaquiere from Montreal and Evangeline Kelly from Grand Falls, two brothers Laurent Blaquiere from Atholville and Paul Blaquiere from Dieppe. Also eight grandchildren Sebastien, Dominick, Marc, Danika, Rock, Monica, Dylan and Ashley.

Predeceased by two sisters Juliettte Blaquiere and Bertha Tompson, his brother Victore Blaquiere.

Doris Bernier

At the Bathurst Regional Hospital Center on January 10, 2007, passed away Doris (Fugere) Bernier at the age of 76 years, wife of Gerald Bernier. She was the daughter of the late Charles Fugere and the late Laurette Richard.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Gerald Bernier of Campbellton; her children: Geraldine Bernier (Percy Persad) of Toronto, Ont., Charles (Anita ) of Campbellton, Reginald (Suzie) of Balmoral and Luc (Monique) of Atholville; her grandchildren; Natasha, Allan, Tommy, Dylan, Samantha and Logan; her sisters and brothers: Jeannette Blais (Wilbrod), Irene Parent, Bertha Fugere, Gordon Fugere, Conrad Fugere all of Campbellton, Dorothy Wood (John) of Ottawa, Ont., Walter Fugere (Joan) of Montreal, Kathleen Durette (Maurice) of Calgary, Alb., Victor Fugere (Leona) of Campbellton. Also many nieces, nephews, sister-in-law, brothers-in-law and friends will sadly miss her.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Fugere and Laurette Richard, two sisters: Carmen and Mary Anne and two brothers William and Leo.

Loraine Jensen

Jensen, Loraine (nee Caron) 1918-2007. Peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 9, 2007 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Max Jensen and loving mother of Anne (Michael), Paul (Joyce), Peter (Brenda), Bob (Gail) and Michael (Traci).

Born in New Richmond, Quebec in 1918, she moved to Dalhousie in 1927. She moved to Moncton with her husband Max , where he was stationed during World War 2, and they also lived in Edmundston for two years after the war. Upon their return to Dalhousie, she moved back into the family home, where she spent the rest of her life. She was an active member of the community and was proud to have served as a member of the Catholic Women's League for more than 60 years, where she held various offices, including that of president and spirtual convenor.

She leaves to mourn her children, sister Marguerite, 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, family and many friends.

Kathleen (Kit) Mac Neill

Kathleen (Kit) Mac Neill, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2007, at the Moncton City Hospital, Moncton.

Born in Charlotttetown, PEI, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Greene) Carter. A veteran of the second world war, she was a member of the Canadian Women's Army Corps. She seved as President of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion, Dalhousie for 10 years. She also served as President of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17 Dalhousie for 6 years and President of the Moncton Branch #6 for 5 years. Her greatest accomplishment was the spearheading a committee which was successful in the building of a new Veteran's Unit in Moncton.

For her many hours of volunteer work withe the Veterans and the Legion she was the recipient of many awards such as the Palm Leaf (the highest award given in the Legion) Maritimer of the week (CTV) and in 2002 she traveled to Ottawa where she was one of the recipients of the "MInister of Veterans Affairs Commendation". Kit was a member of St John's United Church. While in Dalhousie she served on the Board of Stewards of St John's United, was a member of the Session and was secretary for the Pastoral Charge and to the Minister for 13 years. She was also a Board Member of NB Housing for 7 years.

Kit will be missed by her daughters, Betty Danks (Bill) Dalhousie, Cathy Belanger (Marc) Moncton, sons, Neil, Moncton and Robert (Brenda) Halifax, grandchildren, Tom, Shelly, Stephanie, Scott, Cindy, Alex, great grandchildren Emma and Avery, and daughter in law Agnes MacNeill.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert Mac Neill and her brother Ernest (Ted) Carter.

Michael Lawlor

The death of Michael Lawlor of Jacquet River, occurred Wednesday, Jan. 10, at the Dalhousie Nursing Home at the age of 91. Born in Jacquet River, he was the son of John Lawlor and Agnes (Culligan).

Mike was an active member of the school board for many years as well as a life long farmer.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Van (Tardif), grandson Cory, brother Pete and sisters Regina, Myrtle and Theresa as well as his daughter-in-law Diane (Brian).

He is survived by sons Jack (Terri) of Ottawa, Bernie (Linda) of Belledune, Paul (Anne) of Belledune, Lawrence (Vera) of Sarnia, Robert (Joanne) of Halifax, Brian of Woodstock, Ont., and daughter Frances (Wayne) McDonnell of Fredericton. Mike is also survived by 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

George Mann

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 9, 2007 at the of 93, Mr. George Mann of Tide Head.

He leaves to mourn his daughters Shirley (Ernie) Savoir, Tide head, Alice Mann, Tide Head, Valerie (Walter) Mann, Campbellton, Marilyn (David) Boudreau, Robinsonville, his sons Garfiedl (Elaine) Mann, Moncton, Blaine (Judy) Mann, Upsalquitch, his sisters Hester Turiff of Campbellton, Elizabeth Murray of Robinsonville, Christina Gray of Toronto, Violet Megarrell of Toronto and Delia (Pat) Licastra of Toronto.

Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces nd nephews. Predeceased by his wife Lulu his brothers Lawrence, Oswald, Urban and Dazel.

Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Lapointe

Passed away at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home on January 15, 2007 at the age of 85, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Mamie) Lapointe.

She leaves to mourn her son Everett (Lise) Lapointe, Allan Lapointe and her daughter-in-law Gayle. Also survived by her grandchildren Shawn and Patrick.

Predeceased by her husband Edmund, her son Thurlin (Ed), her father Albert Furlotte and her mother Amanda Furlotte.

Rosa Dugas

Passed away at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home on January 14th at the age of 84, Mrs. Rosa Dugas.

She leaves to mourn her daughters Lorraine (Larry) Mercer of Woodstock, Diane (Serge) Duplain of Netherlands and Linda Dugas of Campbellton, her sons Paul (Denise) Dugas of Dieppe, robert (Cathy) Dugas of Kingston, ON, Daniel (Diane ) Dugas of Quispamsis and Gerald (Sandra) Dugas of Dieppe. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father Joseph Frenette and her mother Elizabeth Hache. Gordon Edgar McNeish 1912-2007

Gorden E McNeish, 94, of Point La Nim, passed away on Sunday January 7, 2007.

Born in Point La Nim, he was the son of the late James McNeish and the late Mary (Harrison) McNeish. He was pre-deceased by his wife Ethel (Arseneault) June 7, 1995, his brother Roland McNeish, sisters, Margaret McNeish, Alma Beckingham (Robert) , Dorothy MacNeill (John), and Myrtle Millican (Robert).

He is also survived by one brother Douglas, two nieces, Gwyn (Ray), Mary (Fred) all of Ontario, two nephews, Peter MacNeill (Maggie) of Ontario, Andrew (Chris) of B.C. He is also survived by two very special cousins, Arthur McNeish (Marion), and Harrison MacNeish (Earlene) both of Point La Nim.
