Barry Delaney

In loving memory of Barry Delaney, 66, of Dalhousie, occurred suddenly on January 15, 2008. Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Gorman Delaney and the late Hectorine Boudreau. Surviving is his common-law partner, Marlene Doucet, her children and grandchildren, his brothers, Ronald Delaney from Dalhousie, Garfield Delaney from Montreal, his sisters, the late Marie Morrison from Montreal, Judy and Sharon Delaney from Dalhousie and several nieces and nephews. Barry worked at the mill in Dalhousie for over 30 years. His funeral was held on January 18, 2008 at the Saint John Bosco Church. Funeral arrangements were placed in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.

Jean H. Magee (Caldwell)

Died peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Billings Court Manor, Burlington, in her 95th year.

Born in Truro, Nova Scotia, September 10, 1913, daughter of the late Pryor W. Caldwell and Clara Belle Purdy Caldwell, she was a graduate of Campbellton High School, Campbellton, N.B., and of Teachers' College in Fredericton, N.B. where she obtained her Superior First Class Teachers' License. She pursued her profession for thirty-five years, including several country schools and, for twenty-one years, in the city of Campbellton's elementary schools in the primary division. She was an active member of Christ Church Anglican in Campbellton and most recently at St. Phillip's Anglican in Burlington, ON. Active in the community, she was a long standing member of the I.O.D.E., sang in numerous church and community choirs including the Chaleur Echoes, Harmony Inc. and acted in many war-time plays. She was one of the founding members of 'The Friendship Link', a Burlington seniors' group.

Predeceased by her husband, Clyde Everett Magee, and sister, Carrie and brother Frank, her parents, and step-mother Mabel Caldwell, she is survived by her daughters, Jean Kingston of Simcoe, Anne Clifton and her husband Rod of Burlington, grandchildren, Gary (Pat), Nancy (Matthew), David (Shirley), Richard, Bradley, great grandchildren, Sarah, Kylie, Katherine, Stephen, Jonathan, Meredith, sister, Phyllis and her husband Vernon Mann of Moncton, N.B., brother Bill and his wife Edna of Beaver Dam, N.B., sister in law, Elise of Campbellton, N.B.

Services were at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line,Burlington, Ontario (905-632-3333) If desired, flowers or best wishes may be sent to Smith's Funeral Home. However, at Jean's request, donations in remembrance may be made to Christ Church Anglican, 6 Aberdeen St., Campbellton, N.B. E3N2J4. Private burial service will follow in Campbellton, N.B. at a later date.

Mathias J. Plourde

Has passed away at the Veteran's unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 24, 2008 at the age of 92, Mr. Matty J. Plourde, husband of Hermina Johnson. Born in Val D'Amour on September 3, 1915, he was the son of the late Joseph Plourde of Miguasha, QC and the late Delina Albert of Grand-Anse, NB. Veteran of the Second World War from 1941 to 1945, he served in the 7th Anti-Tank Regiment in England, Algeria, Italy, France and Belgium. He was a self-employed businessman and was also an employee of Esso Imperial Oil for a period of 37 years. He loved several sports such as cross-country skiing, fishing, tennis and bowling. He was a member of several non-profit and community organizations such as the Knight of Columbus and the Canadian Legion. He leaves to mourn his wife Hermina Johnson, two daughters Lilianne and Judith (Nick Fraser), two sons, Donald (Jacynthe Boudreau) and Mike, one sister-in-law Winnie LeBlanc, as well as three grandchildren Natacha, Nicholas and Frédéric and a great-grandchild Kayla Taylor. Predeceased by three brothers: Albert, Ernest and Léonard as well as six sisters: Stella, Germaine cnd, Velma cnd, Esther cnd, Marie and Bertha fma. The funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Snows Church 4 Central Street Campbellton on Monday January 28th at 2:00 pm. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
