Alan MacKenzie

Passed away on the Veterans Unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital on November 6th 2011 at the age of 92, George Alan MacKenzie.

Born in Tide Head on August 7, 1919, he was the son of the late Lyman MacKenzie and the late May (Duff) MacKenzie.

He leaves to mourn his wife Eva (Casey) MacKenzie, one daughter Elaine MacKenzie and two grandchildren Casey Alaina and Patrick of Bedford, NS. A niece Cheryl Miller, Dalhousie Jct and a nephew Ian Miller, Moncton also survive.

Predeceased by his sister Verna Miller and a niece Mary Miller Lyons.

Allie was a World War 11 Veteram serving his country overseas, 1941-1945 a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, a member of the Campbellton Masonic Lodge #32F and AM and a member of the Saint Andrew's United Church, Tide Head serving as Clerk of Session for 35 years, a member of the Committee of Stewards and Chairman of the Group Committee for the Boy Scouts for serveral years.

Berthe (Arseneau) Vincent

Est décédée à l'Hôpital Régional de Campbellton après une courte maladie, le 5 novembre 2011 à l'âge de 89 ans, Madame Berthe (Arseneau) Vincent de Richardville. Née à Charlo le 21 octobre 1922, elle était la fille de feu Joseph et Yvonne Arseneau.

Elle laisse dans le deuil Edith Morris de Charlo, Yvon (Gabrielle) Arseneau de Campbellton, Hélène Arseneau de Montreal, ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux de Campbellton, Charlo, Moncton et Montreal.

Esther Allanach

Esther Allanach, passed away peacefully November 7, 2011 at the Village Nursing Home, Campbellton at the age of 91. Born Esther Mary Olsen, October 9, 1920 at Tide Head NB to Martha Noble and Oscar Harry Olsen.

Esther trained as a nurse and practised as an RN at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed her friends and family, church and her knitting club.

Predeceased by her husband Thomas MacPherson Allanach, step-son Jack (Sourabh) Allanach of Wentworth Falls NSW, Australia and a sister Doris Olsen Robertson of Montreal QC.

She is survived by son Paul (Gillian) Allanach of Amherst NS, grandaughter Erica Allanach of Halifax NS, sister Edith Olsen Thompson of Montreal,QC, niece Ingrid Thompson of Lasalle QC, niece Marta (Pierre) Robertson Fauteux, nephew Vincent (Coleen) Robertson of Portland OR, USA, many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Lindsay Hamilton

Lindsay Hamilton of Charlo, husband of the late Jo Ann (Ault) Hamilton passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Monday November 7, 2011 at the age of 83. Born in Charlo, he was the son of the late Ida (MacCurdy) and James Hamilton.

In his earlier years Lindsay worked at the NBIP mill as a labourer. He went on to work as a motorman for CNR, where he delivered the mail in the Dalhousie and Campbellton areas, retiring after 21 years of service. After retirement he remained active with the CN Pension Assoc. He also became very dedicated to the life and work of ST. Paul United Church, Charlo. For many years he was the caretaker and always available to help his brother Arthur to repair or build what was needed. He was a master at repairing fixing and making things work again and there was nothing he coudlnt figure out. Even in his later years with failing eyesight he could be found taking apart a toaster or kettle "just to check the wiring".

Lindsay will be sadly missed by his daughters Joyce Hamilton of Ottawa her children (Corey and Melissa), Juanita of Miramichi, son Donald (Lynn Gagne) their children (Brady, Keely, Connor and Riley) of Charlo, nieces; Wendy (John) Cunningham their children (Sierra and Spense) of Branford Ont., Vera (Darren) Lapointe their children (Nicholas and Cole) of Jacquet River, and his most precious four legged furry companion "Mozart".

He will be leaving this earth to join his parents, wife Jo Ann and son James, grandaughter MacKenzie (son Donalds daughter) sister Vera, Twin brother Linwood, Donald, Arthur and an infant brother Kenneth, who have all gone to their heavenly home before him.

Lyman Dawson Murray

The death of Lyman Murray of Robinsonville occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the Campbellton Regional Hospital, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the age of 85.

Born in Robinsonville, he was the son of the late Donald and Jemima (Thomas) Murray.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Vivian (Thompson), sons Peter, Michael (Kim), daughter-in-law Jane and Denise, grand-children Amy, Mindy, Aaron, Shawn and Jessica, great granddaughter Isabelle Demerchant. Lyman was the last remaining member of his family.

Active pallbearers were Paul Thomas, Aubrey Firth, Aaron Murray, Shawn Murray, Kevin Murray and Donald Robinson.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Moores, George Thomas, Tommy MacDougall, Donald Harris and Larry MacKinnon.

Sgt. George E. Blomquist
1934-2011

Peacefully with family at his side, Sgt. George Edward Blomquist passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital on October 24, 2011 at the age of 76. He was the eldest of nine children, born on November 29, 1934 in Bathurst and raised in Charlo. He was predeceased by his parents. Edward and Mary (Cook) Blomquist, an infant brother William Gordon, his wife Joanne Robillard, his son Gordon. He leaves to mourn, his only daughter, Kimberley Blomquist of Ottawa, his two brothers Eldon Blomquiest (Judy) of Sudbury, William Blomquist (Noella) of Charlo, his five sisters, Ingrid (Amedee) Paulin, Dalhousie Junction, Barbara Jean (Edgar) Babin, Welland, Wanda (Walter) Jones, Norma (Floyd) Roy and Audry Blomquist all of Charlo, as well as one remaining aunt and uncle. Diana (Betty) McKenzie and Nicholas Yank of Grimsby Ontario, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

George was a retired 30 year member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. After his retirement he continued to work as a civil servant for the Dept. of Justice.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who looked forward to his yearly visits to NB.

George was a quiet person, stayed in the background and was modest about his accomplishments and experiences. He had no grandchildren of his own, but was always interested in the lives of his siblings children, and enjoyed interacting with them.
