Rose Mary Carr-Dion
With loving members of her family by her side, Rose Mary passed away peacefully at the Village Nursing Home in Campbellton on December 11 at the age of 96.
She was predeceased by her husband Armand Dion, brothers Everett, Gordon, Henry, Leonard, and Joe Carr and sisters Charlotte, Elva, Evangelineand recently, Cecilia.
She leaves behind to mourn her son Maurice (Kay Gallant), daughter Claudette (Don Redstone), two brothers Clifford and Gerald, her six grandchildrenn Gregory, Donny and Carolyn Dion, Michael, Charles and Patrick Redstone and four great granddaughters Nell, Emma and Norah Redstone and Jorja Dion who brought her so much joy in her later years.
Rose Mary enjoyed a full and long life. Most of all Rose loved her family and devoted her life to caring for them. She enjoyed the great outdoors, patiently tending her rock garden and spending time with her husband and friends fishing, camping , hunting, canoeing and swimming on the Restigouche River. She was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Atholville, helping in the kitchen for many years. Rose had a great sense of humour and enjoyed bowling and especially playing cards with her friends. She was an avid sports fan and maintained her interesst in hockey, baseball, and curling until the last few months. Rose will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks for the compassionate care she received by all who came in contact with her during her brief stay at the Village Nursing Home. Thank you to the staff of the Campbellton Regional Hospital who looked after her over the past year. A special thank you to Doctors MaccDonald and Yakoub for their excellent care and especially their kindness and understanding. To Fernand Ouellette, soloist, and Shirley Engstrom, organist, a heartfelt thanks for the special tribute to a great Mom. Sincire thanks as well to Fathers Claude Benoit and Wilfred Benoit who officiated at the funeral mass.
(Claude) Gerald Rexton Dobson
With much sorrow we announce the death of our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Claude Dobson of the Soldiers Memorial Villa who passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 12, 2011 after a brief illness.
Born in Campbellton on December 4, 1922 to Mary Dobson (McDavid) and William A. Dobson. Claude went to school in Campbellton. Thereafter, he moved to Montreal in 1940, and obtained a tinsmith trade obtaining employment in this trade at Fairchild Aircraft where he worked for a year. Claude enlisted in the Canadian army in 1941, and served in several Canadian artillery regiments during the Second World War serving in Holland, Belgium, France, and Germany until the end of the war. He was at D Day Juno Beach veteran, and was wounded several time during the war arriving home only in 1946 after recovering from end of the war wouunds in hospitals in England.
After arriving home in 1946, Claude reunited with Mary J. Matchett, a Bell Canada operator he had met while in Montreal . They were married at Campbellton in 1946. Claude was employed as an electrician with Canadian National Railway in Campbellton at the shop from 1946 until retirement in 1986.
Throughout his life Claude was an avid fisherman, and loved hunting. Many fond memories came from the family camp at Mile 21.5 Millerville, on the I.N.R. line. In later years mom and dad enjoyed many summers at the family cottage on the water at McLeods siding.
Predeceased by both his parents, brothers Ralph, Hildon, Wallace, Chesley, William, Johnny, sisters Alta, Blanche, Phyllis.
He is survived by son Arly (Joann) grandchildren Erin (Mark) Forsyth and Ryan of Winnipeg, and Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, daughter Debra White (Len), grandchildren Rebecca (Gary) Cobb (great grandson Casey, and grandson Robert all of Halifax, Nova Scotia, sister-in-laws Beatrice Ingram, London, Ontario and Nora Matchett, Sunny Corner, Miramichi, New Brunswick, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr Robichaud and all the staff at the Campbellton Regional Hospital for all their care and compassion. As well we wish to thank Diane, and all dad's friends at the Soldiers Memorial Villa where he has resided since moms' passing in 2005 for all the care, and friendship. Also a major thank you to Mrs. Judy Furlotte, who has been dads' Red Cross care worker and friend for a number of years and provided excellent care.
Orin "Bob" R. M. Brimsacle
After a short courageous battle with cancer, Orin R.M. Brimsacle (Bob) passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on December 18, 2011, Orin was born on February 21, 1937. Orin was the first child of the late Melvivn James Brimsacle and his wife, the late Catherine, Annie Elizabeth SmearerBrimsacle.
He will forever be remembered by his sister Shirley (Gerry Baird), his brother Don (Marlene Anderson), his nieces ad nephews along with countless friends who were blessed to know him.
Orin spent many years living in Toronto and was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbuss. Upon his return to NB he was an active member of Saint John Bosco Church, Dalhousie.
Orin touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his sense of humour all the way to the end.
Mrs Dorothy Menzies Brown (1928-2011
Mrs. Dorothy Brown, wife of Clinton Brown passed away at the age of 83 yrs, November 12th at the Chaleur Regional Hospital Bathurst, after a brief illness. She was born in Campbelltin, the daughter of the late Irving Menzies and Vina (Traverse) Menzies.
Besides her husband of 58 years she was survived by one son Donald Brown of Halifax, NS., one sister Joan MacKenzie of Dalhousie and one brother Perley Menzie (Myra) of Dalhousie Junction and serveral nieces and nephews.
Matthew LeBlanc
The death of Matt Leblanc of Moncton and formerly of Jacquet River occurred suddenly in Cold Lake, Alberta on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the age of 52. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Aurele LeBlanc and the late Marilda (Joncas).
Matt is survived by his girlfriend Bernice Bourque; son Tyler; daughters Elisha and Jacyntha; granddaughter Kylie and sister Phylis.
Pallbearers were Brett Campbell, Rick Doucet, Bob Briggs, Jason Chase, Terry Dionne and Mike Blake.
Hazel Ladds Dempsey
At the age of 93, Hazel passed away from an aggressive form of Lymphoma at the Palliative care in Rouyn/Noranda, QC. She was born in Jacquet River, NB, daughter of Paulina and Michael Dempsey.
She was the spouse of the late William Ladds, the Mother of three; Caron, Brent and James, the Grandmother of four; Kellie, Gregg, Dawn and Paula and the Great Grandmother of five; Sydney, Liam, Tyler, Charley and Owen.
She worked as a Nanny, and as a grocery clerk but her favorite form of employment was that of a cook for the Noranda Hockey School and the Curling Club. She was a member of the CWL the Ladies Auxilliary of the Canadian Corps and always a willing volunteer whenever and wherever she was required.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of you, for your kind thoughts, Cards of Sympathy and Masses.
John Philip Germain
John Phillip Germaine (Johnnie Motor) passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 24, 2011 at the age of 72 after a lenghty illness.
John was born on July 16, 1939, he was the son of Thomas Germain and Lily (Paul) Germaine.
He is survived by his wife Rita Anderson Germaine, his sister Rita Germain and her husband Allan Dovauo, his sons John Germaine Jr. (Mass), Peter Germaine (Listuguj), his step-daughters Sherry Gilbeert (Maine), Lorin Laterw (Florida), Helina Stegenga (Maine), Lorie Merrill (Maine) and Cora Miller (New York). Also survived by his 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him.
Predeceased his brothers Louis P. Germaine and Donald P. Germaine, step-daughter Wendy Randall (Maine).
Warren Tait
The death of Warren Tait of Dalhousie occured at the Campbellton Regional Hospital Saturday December 24, 2011, at the age of 81.
Born in Dalhousie, he was the son of the late Walter and Ruth (McNish) Tait.
He was employed at the NBIP mill in Dalhousie for 35 years as a pipefitter. He was an avid hockey fan and especially enjoyed his time at his cottage and on the water.
Warren is survived by his wife Dorothy (Brooks), sons Robert (Sylvie ) of Dalhousie, Alex of Windsor, ON, Kenneth of Sarnia, ON: daughter Edith Drapeau (Benoit) of Dalhousie; two step-daughters Wendy Libby of Edmonton and Sandra Pickett (Donald) of Upper Coverdale. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Warren was predeceased by his first wife Margaret in 1973.
