Jack Gerard
Jack Gerard passed away suddenly at the age of 75 on February 1, at his home in Mann Settlement.
He was predeceased by his mother Muriel (Irvine) Gerard in 1951 and his father George Gerard in 1970. He was also predeceased by his sister Laurena (Gerard ) Dunn in 2002 and Marie (Gerard) Mykietiak in 2003.
He is survived by his wife Doris (Dunn) of Mann Settlement, and their four children, Jacqueline (Gary) Russell of Georgetown, ON, Robert (Judy) of Georgetown, ON, Ron "Sandy" (Georgina) of Glen Levit, NB and Janet (Al) Duz of Brampton, ON. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Logan, Gerard, Ronnie, Gerard, Kati Duz and Jilian Russell and two great graddaughters, Madson and Rumour Gerard.
He will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law, Ethel Archibald, Teenie Dunn and Gloria (Gilbert) Downs and brothers-in-law, John Dunn and Carl Dunn and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at Maher's Funeral Chapel, Campbellton on Friday February 5. Active Pallbearers were Wayman Dunn, John Downs, Johnny Dunn and Gerald Hennigar. Honorary Pallbearers Gerald Irvine, Clayton Bird, Richard McDavid, Sonny Murray, Billy Murray and Earl Dunn.
Bernadette Losier
The death of Bernadette Losier of Belledune occured at the Bathurst Regional Hospital Sunday, January 31, 2010 at the age of 81. Born in Belledune, she was the daughter of the late Alexander Guitard and the late Josephine Guitard.
She was a member of the Filles D'Isabelle, past member of the Belledune C.W.L. and an avid volunteer especially with the handicapped. She loved dancing , music and enjoyed being with family and friends.
Benadette is survived by her son Eugene (Debbie) of Belledune, daughter Brenda Hilliard (Jimmy) of Lorne, grandsons Danny and Jimmy Jr; granddaughters April and Jenna; sisters Bernice Aube, Genevieve Degrechie, Theresa McDonell, Priscilla Levesque, brothers Roger, Clifford, Clarence and Charles.
She was predeceased by her husband Daniel as well as her brothers Ralph, Gordon , Gerald and Wallace.
Her funeral was held from St John the Evangelist Church , Belledune. Honorary Pallbearers were: Taylor and April Losier, Jimmy Hilliard Jr, Linda McKenzie, Monique Boudreau, Royce McDonnell, Luke Peterson, Marcel Levesque, Veronica Furlotte, Bernadin Aube, George Richard and Claude Clifford and Roger Guitard.
May Roy
Passed away at her residence on February 7, 2010 at the age of 79. Mrs May Roy of Atholville. Born in Atholville on October 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late James Cormier and the late Sylvie Allain.
She leaves to mourn her husband Garnet Roy of Atholville. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Denis and all her brothers and sisters.
The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church Atholville on Thursday February 11.
Pallbearers were Roger Cormier, Raymond Cormier, Gerald Young,Gerard Young, Earl MacDonald and Willie Cormier.
Donald Robert Matchett
Donald Robert Matchett with heavy hearts , we, the matchett Girls, announce the passing of our dad with his loved ones gathered around, he went peacefully January 31st at the palliative care unit in Campbellton at the age of 73.
His last days were spent with those he cherished most constantly by his side; Mary (Dixie) Diotte, his sister Nina, John and Donnie, Laura Lee; Corey; Tanya, Winston and Dakota; Andy and Pauline; and his five girls. Dad retired after 38 years service at NBIP as a papermaker.
He was rarely idle - he was a talented woodworker, dedicated Cub Scout leader, proud owner of a little red MGB and even prouder Poppy to his grandchildren. He enjoyed riding around Dixie's junkyard on his four wheeler - he lived life to the fullest. Throughout it all, he enriched our lives in countless ways. We will always have our childhood memories of our trips to the camp in Jacquet River Head and to Aunt Nina's cottage in Oromocto Lake.
He was born September 8, 1936 in Dalhousie, NB, son of the late Lee Matchett and Johanna O'Casey.
He is predeceased by our Mom Florence Matchett (Doucet); sister Joyce and brother James.
He is survived by his fiancee, Mary (Dixie) Diotte; daughters Susan (Ray) Bourque; Martha (Dave) Maloney, Sheila (Darren) Schaetzie, Dawn Matchett; Nina (Corey) Collins; grandchildren Laura Lee and Geoffrey Bourque; Jason and Justin Maloney; Eric and Kurtis Schaetzie; Curtis and Hailey Collins; sister Nina (John ) MacDougall; nephews John (Lorna) and Donald (Myriam) MacDougall; nephews Preston (Betti Ann) and Clayton (Betty Ann Smith; father in law Delphis Doucet.
To honor Dad's wishes, he will be cremated with no visitation or service. Donations can be made to the Children's Wish Foundation through Maher's Funeral Home in Dalhousie.

Jean Lynn Hoyt
Passed away at her residence on January 15, 2010 at the age of 61, Mrs Jean Lynn Hoyt of Campbellton. Born in Sackville on November 8, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Bayne McAllister and Barbara Carter. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She leaves to mourn her common-law spouse Neil MacCallum, her mother Barbara McAllister, he daughter Kelly, her son David, her sisters Valerie Roy (Dale) and Phyliss Cheetham (Gary) her brothers Bev McAllister (Phyliss) and Rober McAllister (Anita). Also survived by two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband David and father Ronald Bayne.
Her funeral service was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel, Campbellton on Saturday January 23. Pallbearers were brothers Bev and Bob, son David and son-in-law Chad.
Rena Melanson LeBlanc
Passed away in Montreal at the Lake Shore Hospital on January 28, at the age of 86 years. Formally of Campbellton she was the daughter of Ernest and Rachel LeBlanc.
Rena leaves to mourn three sons; Vernon, Marc and Harold, brothers Rene, Harold, Marcel, Gason, Edouard and James, sisters, Georgette, Lorraine, Francoise and Muriel.
Predeceased by her husband Hector and brother Philip.
Carolyn MacIntosh
The death of Carolyn MacIntosh, of Campbellton, daughter of the late Leslie MacIntosh and the late Muriel Dawson, occured at the Campbelton Regional Hospital on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the age of 64.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters; Tanya Gauthier of Campbellton and Tracy (Gauthier) Wallis (Keith) of Montreal; grandchildren; Bryanna, Catlin and Devon, her sister in friendship Ruth Lyons; and many nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.
Carolyn was a registered nurse's assistant and worked at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital and later at the Village Nursing Home in Campbellton for many years before her retirement in June 2009.
The funeral service was held on Saturday February 6 in Gateway Assembly Church, Campbellton and officiated by Pastor Silas Matchett with burial in the Campbellton Rural Cemetery later in the spring.
Remembrances to the Jewish General Hospital Cancer Center for Research, 3755 Cote Sainte Catherine Montreal Qc H3T 1E2, 514-340-8222, would be appreciated by the family.
