David Goodine

The death of David Goodine of Dartmouth and formerly of Jacquet River occurred at the Dartmouth General Hospital February 10, 2012 at the age of 72. Born in Jacquet River, he was the son of Delphus Goodine and the late Bernice Dempsey

He is survived by his daughter Deanna Anderson of Hamilton, Ont., four grandchildren, one great grandchild, brothers Raymond, Clement, Lloyd, Eugene, Donald and John as well as his sisters Catherine Rosborough, Clementine Emberly, Theresa MacAlister, Eileen Jones, Margaret Daley, Joan Boudreau, June Goodine.

He was predeceased by his brother Norman as well as two infant brothers.

Pallbearers were Richard and Marty Goodine, Kevin and Krystal Daley, Jeffrey Boudreau and Lisa Rosborough.

Eileen Isobel Garrels

Passed away at the Campbellton REgional Hospital on February 15, 2012 at the age of 92, Mrs. Eileen Isobal Garrels of Campbellton.

Eileen was a long time employee of Fraser's in Atholville. An active member of her Church First Baptist in Campbellton, she was also a life-time member of the Evangeline Crowe Mission Circle and the Business and Professional Women.

She loved to travel and had a great love for her two grandsons Brendhan and Byron. Her love of life and her sense of humour, as will her kindness and concern for others, will be missed by friends and family alike.

She leaves to mourn her son Rawley Garrels (Cynthia Walsh) of Kimberley, BC, her sister Ellen Smith of Edmonton, AB. Also survived by her grandsons Brendhan and Byron, sister-in-law Sharon Gilker, many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her husband William, brothers Edward, Arnold and Aubrey Gilker and sister Viola Hocquard.

James Martin

James Martin passed away very peacefully, surrounded by family at Eagle Park Care facility in Qualicum, BC.

He is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Georgette (Poirier), brother Norman of Mesa Arizona, sister Madeline of Montreal, PQ and sister Gladys of Hamilton, Ont., step-sons Rene, Lee, Dan, Andy and Bill Poirier of Vancouver Island.

He is predeceased by his first wife of 56 years Cecile (Sommerfield).

Born in Saint Hippolyte Quebec, one of 11 children, Jim was brought up in a healthy Roman Catholic environment. Two of his sisters, Edna and Evelyn, belonged to religious orders, Evelyn in missionary work and Edna using her musical talents in various churches and seniors facilities in Montreal.

At 18, Jim left home to join the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he served for 7 years as an aircraft mechanic in Belleville, Comox and other Canadian locations. After completing his military service, he worked in the constaruction business building homes and in the hairdressing field where he was most successful. After moving to BC an d having no children from his previous marriage, Jim happily adopted his new life with eorgette and sons.

Jim was a kind affectionate gentleman, love by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his past and present families.

Hector J.D. LePage

Hector died at Christenson Village in Gibsons BC. He was born and raised in Charlo and moved his family to Gibsons in 1967 where he worked in the logging industry. For many years after retiring, he would spend winter in Gibsons and the remainder of the year in Charlo until 2008, when he entered a senior's home.

Hector leaves behind his estraned wife Wilma Thompson (Quesnel, BC); sons Ben, Lanny, Roger, and Evertt (BC) and daughters Ann and Dalaina (BC). He is also survived by his his brother Louis (Gibsons) sisters Rollande McKenna (Dalhousie), aAnita Hastie (Campbellton), and Laura Softsky (Florida).

He is predeceased by his identical twin Mathias (Charlo) and sister, Germaine Belaner (Charlo).

May he rest in peace.

Judith Ann Hunter

Thursday, February 2, 2012 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital at the age of 63 passed away Mrs. Judith Ann Hunter of Robinsonville, wife of Mr. Lamkey Hunter. Born in Campbellton she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Firth and late Clinton Boudreau.

Besides her husband, she will be sadly missed by her children: Clinton, Jody and Travis; and granddaughter Makayla.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Charlie Beaton

The death of Chrlie Beaton of Charlo occurred at the Dalhousie Nursing Home Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the age of 86. Born in Charlo, he was the son of th elate Gladys Beaton.

Charlie was a local legend in this area, well known for his hearty laugh and quick wit. He worked for Jameisons for numerous years loading pulp and delivering oil. Also headed yup the familus broomball team called of course "Beatons Bulldogs". In his later years he became the unofficial greeter at the Dalhousie Nursing Home.

Pallbearers were Finley Cook, Rod MacAllister, Graham Vincent, Arthur Taylor, Gary Simonson and Norman Webb.

Pauline J. Wheaton

Pauline J. Wheaton, 86, of Moncton, went to be with her Lord on Sunday February 19, 2012. She was only child of late Bill Atkinson and Florence (Card) Atkinson.

Born in Woodhurst in 1925. At the age of 14, Pauline and her mother moved toDorchester so that she could go to high school.At 17, she met and married the late Foster Wheaton. They were married for 60 years. Their first child, Roger, was born two years later, while his father was on a ship to Europe. When he returned, they were blessed with a second son, Roy, and a daughter, Sharon. In 1955 their son Roy, drowned. Pauline travelled to Moncton every day for six months and became a licensed hairdresser. She opened her own shop in her home in Dorchester. In 1953 they moved to Moncton, as her husband Foster had taken a position with the Moncton Police Force where he worked for 32 years before reitring in 1983. They travelled most of Canada and USA. Pauline also attended Oultonh's Business College and then worked for the Co-Op Insurance, as well as the Moncton School Board. She volunteered for years with the Red Cross. She was also a former member of the Pythian Sisters, African Violet Society and the Moncton Council of Women. She was the director for the Golden Tones Band. She also received her 20 years certificate in 2002 as an active member of the Lakeview Manor Association. She and her husband travelled to many seniors homes to entertain them with fiddle and piano.

She has been a member of Parkside Baptist Church since 1955.

Pauline is survived by her son Roer (Ghislaine) of St. Stephen and daughter, Sharon Blake (Bob) of Second North River, as well as five grandchildren, Julie-Anne Thomasch, Jennifer L. Wheaton, Jamie A.R. Wheaton (Tanya), Scott Worden (Julie), Bruce Worden (Debbie); great grandchidren, Mason F. Wheaton and Lauryn O. Wheaton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Roy (1955) and her husband, Foster (2002)

Muriel Cyr

We are very saddened to annouce the death of Muriel Cyr, 67, of Victoria Street Campbellton, who passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on February 11, 2012. Born in Campbellton, she was the daughter of the late Winnifred and Lionel Hache of Campbellton.

She is survived by her husband Gerald, two daughters Diane (Yves) of Campbellton, Kim (David) of Tide Head and one son Danny (Melinda) of Oromocto, three grandchildren Kyle, Alexander and Liam. She will be sadly missed by her brother David Hache (Sharon), and her sisters Doris Moore, Florence Mann, Jacqueline Ritchie, Helen Ritchie (Stanley ) and Ethel Murchie.

Predeceased by her brother Gordon Hache, Joseph Hache and sisters Gloria Belliveau, Shirley Gallant and Judith Savoie.

The cyr family were much appreciated the respect kindness and generosity offered by our community and friends in our time of loss.
