Agnès Maltais
1914 - 2009

At the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Monday February 9, 2009, passed away at the age of 94, Mrs. Agnès Maltais, wife of the late Célénoix Maltais of Campbellton. She was the daughter of the late Théophile Leblanc and the late Eva Laliberté. She was raised by her aunt and uncle the late Charles Leblanc and the late Célina Laliberté. She will be sadly missed by her three sons, Léonard (Peggy), Valmond (Danyèle), Jean-Paul (Jeannine) and one daughter May (Ivan); nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her half- sister Béatrice Lepage, a special friend Mrs. Rina Maltais from Manoir Marie-Antoinette, nieces and nephew. Predeceased by her Husband Célénoix; two daughters-in-law Irene Maltais and Monette Maltais; one great-grandchild Diane Maltais and one great-great-grandchild Brigitte Lebel. The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Snow Church, Campbellton on Thursday February 12, at 2 p.m. Father Roméo Morrisson officiating with Father Benoit and Father Leblanc. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Eugenie (Hickey) Gregoire
1916-2009

Jean Gregoire of the Soldier's Memorial Villa passed away peacefully at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on January 27, 2009. Born in Nash Creek, NB, she was the daughter of the late Fred Hickey and Olive Lapointe. Jean will be sadly missed by her only daughter, Suzanne Albert (Laurien), Chibougaumau, QC, her brother Cecile Hickey, Fredericton, NB, her seven grandchildren, Lisa, Vicky and Julie Hoyt, Kelly, Gary, Mark and Glen Guitard, and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by husbands, Gabriel Guitard, Arthur Albert, Glenford Gregoire, her sister Agnus, her brothers Fred, Paul, Louis, Arthur, Leo, and her son Terry Guitard in 2005. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to both the staff at the Villa and at CRH, especially Diane & Murielle, Dr Beccero, Lisa Thompson, Carolle Desrosiers and their colleagues for the special care shown to Jean. We remain grateful. Also a special thank you to Dave Targett, Jim & Rita Woods, Bob & Sandra Gregoire, Mark, for their visits, care and thoughtfulness. Funeral mass will be held at St.Thomas Aquinas Church, Campbellton, on Saturday, May 16, 2009, at 11 o'clock. Interment at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton, NB.

Mary Margaret Alexander

Mary Margaret (Richardson) Alexander passed away unexpectedly at her residence in Hamilton, ON, Saturday, January 31 at the age of 85. Predeceased by husband Harry (January 2, 1982) and her companion Jim Briggs (November 8, 2008). Loving mother of Brenda Murphy (Kevin) and James (Reta). Cherished Grandma of Alissa, Barry, Erin, Brian and Patrick and Great-Grandma of Joshua and Kaleb. Dear sister of Mildred Murphy. Margaret will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held in New Brunswick at a later date with internment at the New Mills Cemetary. If desired donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

ROGER ARMAND ROY

June 21, 1949 February 1, 2009 Aged 59 years Roger Roy, formerly of Richardsville, died unexpectedly at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland on February 1, 2009. He is survived by his wife Judy, step-daughters Lisa and Keri, sons Justin and Matthew, sisters Doris, Ghislaine, Solange, Georgette, Dianne and Lise, and brother Edward. Predeceased by his parents, Aimé and Rolande Roy, and brother Robert. Funeral service was held at the Holly Cross Church in Holyrood, Newfoundland on February 4, 2009.

Katherine (Katie) Myrna Elizabeth Underhill

The death of Katherine (Katie) Myrna Elizabeth Underhill of Campbellton, NB and formerly of Barnettville, NB, widow of H.J. O'Dell Underhill occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the age of 96. Born in White Rapids, NB, Katie was the daughter of the late Walter and Abagail (Coughlan) Sturgeon. Katie is survived by three daughters: Norma Mountain of Blackville, NB, Mona Coughlan (Albert) of Coughlans, NB and Willa Fournier (Lioniel) (Bambi) of Campbellton, NB; two sons: Emerson (Ruth) of Barnettville, NB and James (Joan) of Cains River, NB, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Katie is predeceased by: one son: Perley; four sisters: Hazel, Myrtle, Sadie and Mamie and four brothers: Hayward, Walter, Norman and Malcolm. The family received visitors at the United Pentecostal Church, Blackville on Wednesday from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Funeral Service was held from The United Pentecostal Church, Blackville on Friday at 2 PM with Pastor Jonathan McNair officiating assisted by Rev. G. Corney Sr. Scripture Reading by Matthew McNair. Organist and soloist Colleen McLaughlin sang "The Only Real Peace". A duet done by granddaughters Lori and Jackie Curtis "She's Not Crying Anymore". Congregational Hymns: "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" and "When I've Gone The Last Mile of The Way". The honorary pallbearers were: Boyd Sturgeon, Arden Sturgeon, Roy MacRae, Sherman Sturgeon, Winston Coughlan, Delbert Wyse, Delton Curtis and Eddie Curtis. Active Pallbearers were: Derek Mathers, Herbie Fournier, Darrell Coughlan, Marty Underhill, Danny Underhill and Bentley Vickers. Burial will take place in the United Pentecostal Cemetery later in the spring. In Katie's memory a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Bell's Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB Telephone 622-3600.
