Ronald David Furlotte
Ronald Furlotte passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, February 25th, at the age of 60 at Dr Everett Chalmers Hospital. He showed tremendous strength and spirit in his battle to recover from his stroike. Born on April 3, 1951 in Campbellton, he was the son of Helen (Craik) and the late Lawrence A. Furlotte. Ron came to the Fredericton area where he met his loving wife of 25 years Juanita McAllister.
In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by two sons, Chris and Matt Furlotte as well as daughter Stephanie (Garland) Furlotte-Smith and three grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters Cynthia (Gordan) Harris and Karen Furlotte along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1968 serving for more than 33 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Regiment. He joined as a private soldier, was commissioned and retired as a major. In addition to postings in Canada, he served in Germany, Cyprus and the Former Yugoslavia on Regimental duties, and in Syria and Israel with the United Nation.
Upon retirement in 2001, Ron joined the staff of Calian Ltd as an exercise controller at the Combat Training Centre Simulation Center at CFB Gagetown. Throughout his career and during his employment with Calian Ltd, Ron was known for his professional knowledge and ability to bring out the best in his subordinates and students. He will be truly missed by the many people whose life he touched throughout his career.
Estella Gauthier
The death of Estella Gauthier of Jacquet River at the Foyer Notre Dame De Lourdes, Bathurst, Feb. 16, 2012 at the age of 94. Born in Becketville, she was the daughter of the late James Doyle and the late Mary Elsleiger.
She is survived by her sons Raymond (Anne-Marie) of Jacquet River, Sam (Patsy) of Bathurst, Andrew (Gertrude) of Jacquet River, Eugene (Brenda) of Jacquet River, James (Genevieve) of Jacquet River, Hubert (Mary Jean) of Jacquet River, Walter Jr. (Betty) of Jacquet River, Louis (Sophie) of Jacquet River, Danny (Cecile) of Jacquet River, daughters Rita Dempsey (Francois) of Bathurst, Cecilia LaPointe (Joe Roy) of Bathurst, & Doreen Gauthier of Moncton, 33 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Sisters Gladys Snyder, Rose Frenette, Muriel Arseneault & Charlotte St. Laurent. She is predeceased by her husband Walter, brothers Edwin, Frank, Urban & Rex.
Jessica Ellis Mae Pollock
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on February 21, 2012 at the age of 34, Mrs. Jessica Ellis Mae Pollock of Campbellton.
She leaves to mourn her daughter Alyssa Pollock, her father Reid Pollock, mother Ellis (Gauthier) Pollock, sisters Naomi Hennigar (Geremy) and Katie Pollock (Brent), brother Simon Pollock (Sarah). Also survied by two nieces (Sage and Julia) and three nephews (Nathan, Aldan and Kyle)
Arthur Ouellette
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on February 21, 2012 at the age of 92, Mr. Arthur Ouellette of Campbellton.
He leaves to mourn his son Daniel Ouellette of Windson, NS, daughters Linda Ouellette of Nouvelle, QC, Suzanne Ouellete of Campbellton and Kathleen Ouellette of Vaudreuil, QC, brothers Johnny Willet of St Catherines, ON. Also survived by his grandchildren Danny Durette of Calgary, AB, Melissa Ouellette of California, Jamie Ouellette of Montreal, Emmanuel Rioux of Vancouver, BC, Natasha Ouellette of Montreal, Jason Rioux of Campbellton, Myriam Ouellette of Vaudreuil, QC and Anissa Ouellette of Vaudreuild Qc., many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife Aldea Guitard, his common law wife of 30 years Alice Garner and one son Alfred Ouellette.
Isabel Homer
The death of Isabel Homer of Dalhousie Junction occurred at the Dalhousie Nursing Home, February 24, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in Cornwall PEI, she was the daughter of the late Hazen Howard and the late Jarjorie (Lewis).
Isaben wasw a devoted mother and loving wife of Art for 66 years. She was an active member of St John's United Church serving in the choir for numerous years as well as volunteering at the thrift shop.
She is survived by her husband Art, sons Douglas (Linda) of Fredericton Kenneth (Beverly) of Sarnia, ON., Lee (Cheryl) of Dalhousie Junction, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren as well as her brother Arthur Howard and sister Alice Wilson.
She was predeceased by her grandson Brett.
Norma Cronkite
Tuesday February 28th, 2012 at the Campbellton Village Nursing Home in her 91st year, passed away Mrs. Norma Cronkite of Campbellton, wife of the late C arl Cronkite. Born in Broadlands, QC., she was the daughter of the late Georgiana Dickson and the late Hilton McKinley.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Ann Firlotte (Arnold) of Campbellton, Carl R. (Randy) Cronkite of Campbellton; her grandchildren; Steven Firlotte of Whistler, BC., Stacy Firlotte of moncton; her great grandchildren; Emma-Jane Firlotte of Vernon, B.C. Joshua Radziewicz of Sarnia, ON; her brother and sister; Grant McKinley of Port Elgin, NB and Eileen Scarlett (Art) of Reno, Nevada. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
As well as her husband Carl, Mrs. Cronkite was predeceased by her parents and brothers; Edgar and Dave.
Norma had a very busy and active life. She volunteere3d her time making suppers at the Legion where she was a life member of Branch 19, Ladies Auxilliary, she worked with the guild at the Church and went to "The Village" almost daily to visit with the "Old Folks" most were younger than her.
In 2006, Norma received the New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes Volunteer Service Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution at the Campbellton "Village" Nursing Home.
Norma travelled in Canada and the US - she rarely missed a tour bus leaving Campbellton. She spent many days with her sister Eileen and her husband Art in Arizona and loved visiting her brother Grant and his family.
Norma never missed sending ards to all her family and friends on their birthday or special occations. This past Christmas she even did her own cards.
Isabel M. Arseneau
The family is saddened to announce Isabel's death. She died peacefuylly in her sleep on March 1, 2012 at the Dalhousie Nursing Home, at the age of 94 years and 5 months.
Isabel was born on September 4, 1917, in Glencoe. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Louis Arseneau and Elizabeth Laura Arseneau (nee Murray).
She was formally a resident of 58 Lansdowne St, Campbwellton and was an employee at the former E.M. Henderson drug store Campbellton for over 40 years. Isabel was an active member of both, Saint Thomas Aquinas Church Campbellton, and her former Parish Saint Anthony's in Glen Levit. Isabel, was an avid quilter, enjoyed sewing and reading. She gave away many quilts to her nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She loved the many flowers in her garden at 58 Landsdowne St and picking berries and preserving jam from her property in Glencoe.
Isabel is survived by her brother Mr. Charles Arseneau of Glencoe, and her sister, Mrs. Catherine Henry (Cletus) of Dalhousie and her brother-in-law Mr. Louis (Doc) Berthelot of Campbellton. She is also survied by cousins and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Murray Arseneau of North Bay, ON., Frankie Arseneau, Lawrence Arseneau of Toronto and Fred Arseneau of Tide Head; her sister Reta Berthelot, Eva McNaughton of Campbellton and her sisters-in-law Margaret Arseneau, Lila Arseneau, and Geraldine Arseneau.
Pallbearers were David Berthelot, Raymond McNaughton, Chris Drysdale, Allen Arseneau, Bob Murray and Cletus Henry.
Karl Edward Kavanaugh
With his loving family by his side, Karl passed away peacefully at home in Victoria, BC, on February 22, 2012 . Son of Dolly (Beckingham) Kavanaugh.
He will be sorely missed by his wife Shirley; his children Neil (Elaine), Sally (Gerry), Jane (Jim, Laura (Barry); his grandchildren Tyler (Hiromi), Arielle, James, Samantha (Adam), Jessica, Sky, Liam; his great grandchildren Ayanna, Alexander; his brothers Lester (Louise) Drew (Carol) and sister Johann (Serge)
Karl was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 25th Regiment RCR, and also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion of which he was very proud.
James Daigle
The death of James Daigle of Armstrong Brook occurred at the Bathurst Regional Hospital Friday, February 24, 2012 at the age of 84.
Born in Armstrong, he was the son of the late James Daigle and the late Philemone (Duplessis). He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He is survived by his son Robert (Linda) of Belledune; daughters Elizabeth Daigle of Beresford and Evangeline Slyford (George) of Thunder Bay, ON.; four grandchildren; Jamie, Todd, Brad and Sherrie as well as two great grandchildren Keanen and Kate.
He was predeceased by his wife Alice (Bertin) ; infant daughter Mary Daigle; brothers Theodore, Arthur, Alphonse, and Wilfred as well as his sisters Emelda, Josephine and Elizabeth.
