Abraham Guitard

The death of Abraham Guitard of Petit Rocher and formerly of Belledune occurred at the Bathurst Regional Hospital Saturday February 9, 2008, at the age of 87. Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late Johnny Guitard and Mary (Duplessis).

He is survived by his wife Pearl, sons Roger (Patsy) of Dalhousie, Roland (Penny) of Dalhousie, Romeo (Doris) of Belledune, Robert (Monique) of Green Pt., Ronald (Jeannine) of Bathurst, daughters Linda of Petit Rocher and Diane of St. Antoine. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

His funeral was held from St. John the Evangelist Church, Belledune on Wednesday February 13, 2008, officiated by Father David Ferguson. Pallbearers were his sons Roger, Romeo, Robert, Ronald and grandsons Remi and Stephane. Funeral arrangements in the care of MacMillan's Funeral Home, Black Point. www.macmillansfuneralhome.ca

Angus Perry

With heavy hearts, the family of Angus Perry announces his passing after a short battle with cancer on February 10, 2008.

Born on April 16, 1935 in Louisbourg, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, he was one of eleven children born to Sarah Ann (Taylor) and Edward Perry. He moved to Dalhousie in 1954. He worked at the paper mill for 37 years until his retirement.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Theresa (Harquail), he is survived by his children Sonny (Charlene), Debbie (Tony) Legacy, Cathy (Francis) Degrouchie, Sandra, Gail, Brian, Jamie, Judy (Steven) Dale, Eric (Margot), and Donnie. Angus is also survived by 3 siblings Eddie, Stella and Olive, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Angus was predeceased by his parents, 7 siblings, and one grandson.

Angus' passion was playing cards, taking his morning walk and enjoying many conversations with his neighbors and friends. Cantankerous by nature, Angus was loved by all the children in his life. The kindness and generosity he showed them all will be forever remembered.

J. Arthur Blais

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on February 8, 2008 at the age of 72, Mr. J. Arthur Blais. Born in Campbellton on November 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph Blais and the late Stella Furlotte.

He leaves to mourn his daughters Susane Blais of Campbellton, Carla Martin of Campbellton and Geneva (William) Legacy of Campbellton, his son Gregory Blais of Campbellton, his brother Joseph Blais of Quebec, his Boxer, Baby Girl (his pride and joy). Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Carmen Fugère Blais.

The funeral mass was held from Mary Queen Church Richardsville on Tuesday February 12th at 2pm. Father Romeo Morrison officiating. Interment in McLeods this spring. Pallbearers were Allan Furlotte, Harry Legacy, Peter Legacy and Christoper Daye .

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Guy Carman Mills

Guy Carman Mills died peacefully at his home in Glencoe, N.B. on February 4, 2008. He was born in Hardwicke, N.B. on October 3, 1939 to the late William and Agnes (Potter) Mills.

He leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Marina (Rooney), daughters Dr. Catherine Mills (Dr. Allister McGowan) from Glencoe, N.B. and Hayley (Warrant-Officer Terrance McGrath) from Oromocto, N.B., son Carman (Stephanie Jacques) from Lucasville, N.S., Randy Hunter from Tide Head, N.B., grandchildren Kenny, Tyler, Caitlin, Luke and Hannah, sisters Nina Flam from Bedford, N.S., Jean Fitzpatrick from Miramichi, N.B. and Margaret Poley from London, Ontario, brothers John from Pefferlaw, Ontario, Dan and Paul from Miramichi, N.B. and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother Agnes (Potter), his father William, sisters Althea, Joan Gallant, Wilma Barter and Della Hare and brothers George, Harold and Glenwood.

Guy was a retired carman and crane operator for over 36 years for the C.N.R. in Newcastle, Moncton, Gaspe and Campbellton. He was one of the original firefighters for the Glen Levit Regional Fire Department, Chairman of the Glencoe Local Service District and one of the organizers and builders of the Glencoe Community Center. He was a faithful member of Christ Church Anglican and enjoyed helping with the structural maintenance of the church and rectory. He was multi-talented as a woodworker, carpenter, mechanic, electrician, plumber and farmer. He liked cutting and preparing the winter's wood. Guy had pride and pleasure taking care of his home and family. He had tremendous joy being with his grandchildren. Guy believed it was not what you said but what you did that mattered. He will be remembered for this great sense of humor, his wisdom and knowledge and for all the things he did for others, family, friends, neighbors and strangers. He will be missed by all that had the food fortune to know him. The funeral for Guy Mills was held at Christ Church Anglican, Campbellton, N.B. on February 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. The celebrant was The Reverend Arnold Godsoe. The eulogy was given by Randy Hunter and a tribute given by Carman Mills. Readings were by Margaret Godsoe and Marina Gallant. The Prayers of the People were done by Kenny and Tyler McGrath and the Bread and Wine presented by Caitlin and Luke McGowan. The server at communion was David Young and the organist was Brenda Jewett. The choir was made up of the Christ Church Choir and other local choirs and the hymns sung were, "Shall We Gather at the River", "In The Garden", "Just a Closer Walk with Thee", "Come Home", and "How Great Thou Art". Active pallbearers were Philip Down, Rick Mills, Raymond Power, David Malley, Walter Rooney and Danny Delaney. Honorary pallbearers were Kenney Haley, Boyd Parker, Gale MacKinnon, Reggie Murphy, Willis Murphy, Bill Graham, Bernie Berube, Aubrey Firth, Tom Brewer, Doug MacIntosh and Harold Caissy. A lovely lunch was held in the church basement following the service. Burial will be at the Flatlands Cemetery in the spring.

Robert (Bob) Olscamp

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on February 11, 2008 at the age of 87, Mr. Robert Olscamp. Born in Point-à-la Croix, Quebec on August 8, 1920, he was the son of the late Martial Olscamp and Emélie de Lagourgendière.

Mr. Olscamp was a Psychiatric attendant for 27 years. He was a veteran of WWII, 1941 to 1945 and he served with the Royal Rifle of Canada in Hong Kong. He was an active member of the Association of Hong Kong Veterans. He loved carpentry, woodworking, gardening, and hosting friends at his cottage.

He leaves to mourn his daughters, Marie of Outremont, Quebec, Carole (Jeannot Bouchard) of Beloeil, Quebec; his sons, Michael (Karen Viennean) of Sackville, NB and Jacques (Janice Gallant) of Moncton, NB. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, Alexandre, Emélie, Nicolas, Samuel, Sébastien, Andrew, William, Jamie, Christopher and David. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his spouse, Rosa Arbour; brother, Edouard (Eddy); sister, Agnes (Tatsy) and son, Daniel.

The funeral services were held from Maher's Funeral Chapel, 64 Lansdowne St. Campbellton on Saturday February 16th at 11am, with Father Romeo Morrison officiating. Interment in Our Lady of Snows Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.

Sylvette Ouellette

Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on February 7, 2008 at the age of 36, Sylvette Ouellette. Born in Campbellton on December 3, 1971, she was the daughter of Roger & Marguerite Ouellette.

She leaves to mourn her son Kevin Ouellette from Val D'Amour, her mother Marguerite (Richard) Ouellette, her father Roger Ouellette from Val D'Amour, her grandmother Lydia from Val D'Amour, her sisters Nicole (Ricky) Lapointe from Benjamin River, Josette (Georges) Roy from Malauze and Diane (Jean-Marie) Martin from Moncton, her brother Bruno (Carole) Ouellette from Val D'Amour, as well as several nieces, nephews, uncle and aunt. Predeceased by her grandfather Wilfred Ouellette.

The funeral mass was held from Notre Dame du Sacré Coeur Church Val D'Amour on Monday February 11th at 2pm. Father Émile Godin officiating. Pallbearers were Bruno Ouellette, Georges Roy, Jean-Marie Martin, Ricky Lapointe, Danik Roy and Ronald Ouellette.

Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
