Nana's Poem
By: Cristy Bothwell
Toast with peanut butter
And a hot cup of tea
Will forever be a memory
Of my Nana and me
She loved to garden out in the sun
Busily working 'til the day was done
With short bread cookies, butter tarts and pie
She always had yummy treats you couldn't wait to try
Daises and red roses she treasured very much
And when you were sick she had just the right touch She could make you laugh when things seemed to be going wrong
And 'Somewhere My Love' was her favourite song
We would go shopping and always buy a whole bunch
Then afterwards to Denny's; her favourite place for lunch
She loved her china tea cups and saucers too
Her favourite season was spring time and she adored the colour blue
She was beautiful, confident, stubborn and strong
We were all very blessed to have known her this long
The bravest women that I'll never know
And God said now was her time to go
To live with Him and Papa in her mansion in the sky
Please say Hi to Papa for me Nana
I love you and goodbye
