Hélène Poirier
Passed away at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on February 11, 2008 at the age of 86, Mrs. Hélène Poirier of Athloville.. Born in Atholville on June 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late James Haché and the late Hélène Simoneau.
She leaves to mourn her children Léona, Léonard, Jacques, Anita, Rachel, Richard, Robert, Denis, Lise, Carol and Pierre. Also survived by her 27 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson. Predeceased by her son Roger and her daughter Pauline.
The funeral mass was held from Our Lady of Lourdes Church Atholville on Thursday Feburary 14th at 2pm. Father Romeo Morrison officiating. Pallbearers were the Lady of Snows Parish Guard.
Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Campbellton.
Robert Fournier
Robert Fournier, 62, of Dalhousie, New Brunswick passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2008 after battling cancer.
Born in 1945, Robert was the son of the late Victor and Ester (McIntyre) Fournier of Eel River Crossing. He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Audfroid) Fournier and his two sons, Bobby (Krista); and John (Ryanne) and one grandson, Maddix Fournier all from Moncton, NB. Robert worked for more than 30 years as a Longshoreman.
In addition, Robert is survived by his four brothers, Edward and Leon from Eel River Crossing, Albenie from Dalhousie, and Arthur from Welland, Ontario; and his three sisters; Ester Maltais (Ernest), Gertrude Whalen (Roland) from Eel River Crossing, and Pierette Fournier from Charlo. One brother, Ivan, predeceased him. Robert is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A church service was held at Ste. Trinity Catholic Church in Eel River Crossing on February 19-interment in the spring. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Tree of Hope (Lodge) c/o George Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB. Funeral arrangements were in the care of Maher's Funeral Home Dalhousie.
