Chester Miller
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Chester Lloyd Miller of the D.V.A. Wing of the Campbellton Regional Hospital and formerly of Dalhousie, which occurred on December 23, 2004, at the age of 83.
Born in Blackland, NB, on December 24, 1920, he was the son on the late R. Jackson Miller and the late Isabella Edma Winton. Chester was a self-employed store merchant for many years and also served in the Royal Canadian Navy.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Shirley Ferguson Miller of Dalhousie; daughters Pamella "Pam" Guitard (Fernand) of Dalhousie and Cindy Miller of Dalhousie; grandson Bruce Guitard of Sussex, NB, and granddaughter Sarah Miller of Dalhousie, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandson Keith Guitard.
Stephen Perley Jagoe
Funeral service for the late Stephen Perley Jagoe of Atholville was held from Maher's Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 23 at 2p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Kraglund (Ret.) officiating assisted by thr Rev. Genevieve Trudel of the First United Church, Campbellton.
The eulogy was given by John Walsh who personified Stephen's love of life and his ability to give generously of self to everyone he came in contact with. Stephen was a friend to people of all walks of life and he, in turn, became a friend of theirs.
The hundreds who paid their respect at the Funeral Home and at the Chapel was testimony to the high regard to which Stephen was held among the people of the community and beyond.
Members of the Presbyterian Church Choir and choir members from other area churches were in attendance and led the congregation on singing "Tell Me The Old, Old Story," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Amazing Grace."
Pallbearers were Pierre Berthelot, Russell Otis, Fernand Levesque, John McLeod, Danny Farrar and Cliff Bower.
Stephen Jagoe was born on October9, 1957 at the Soldier's Memorial Hospital, Campbellton, to Mary (Myles) Jagoe and the late Arnold Jagoe of Atholville. He died on December 20, 2004, after suffering a heart attack.
He leaves his mother, Mary Jagoe of Atholville, his sister Jane and her husband Cliff Bower and a niece, Madeline Bower of Milton, Ontario.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by two brothers, Terry and, as an infant, Bruce.
Internment will be in the family plot at the Campbellton Rural Cemetery in the spring.
Jean Adrien Leger
In Ottawa, peacefully, Tuesday December 28, 2004, at the age of 87, passed away Jean Adrien Leger.
Loving husband of the late Eileen Forde, dear brother of Joseph Omer and dear uncle of Lucille Leger. Francoise Kamper, Camille Leger, Sheila Grant-Trusdale, Duncan, Robert, Michael, and Brian Grant.
Predeceased by his parents Jean Baptiste Leger and Marie Alice Vautour as well as his sister Jeanne.
Adrien was born in Richibucto and raised in Northern New Brunswick; he pursued his love of farming and rural living by attending the Nova Scotia Agriculture College, graduating in 1949. Later he accepted a position in Arvida, Quebec with the Aluminum Company of Canada working in its research laboratory. He met his wife Eileen and moved to Ottawa where both worked for the Government o Canada until their retirements.
Mass of Christian Funeral service was held on Tuesday January 4, 2005, from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. In memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Rheal Theriault
The death of Rheal Theriault of Dundee occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on December 27, 2004.
Born in Charlo on June 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Theodore Theriault and the late Lucie-Anne Levesque. Rheal was a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife Isabelle (Bella) Savoie Theriault; daughters Georgette (Donald Boudreau) of Dundee, Marcia (Roger Roy) of Dundee, Colette (Maurice Ouelette) of Dundee, Suzanne (Real Allain) of Dalhousie, Rhea (Rolland LeClair) of Eel River Crossing, Irene (Delphis LaPointe) of Dundee, Carole (Claude D'Amour) of Charlo, Nicole (Yves Diagle) of Dundee and Lise (Michel Ratee) of Montreal; one son Romain Theriault (Sylvie) of Dundee; sisters Cecile (Yvon) Lagace of Atholville and Donia Levesque of Dundee; as well as 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Laura Malley
The death of Mrs. Laura Malley of Dalhousie occurred at St. Joseph Hospital in Dalhousie on December 27, 2004 at the age of 82.
Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the late Louis Blanchette and the late Ida Roy.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Alice Mallais (John Vermette) of Dalhousie, Jean Savoie (Albert) of Eel River Crossing and Simonne (Adelard); son Albert Malley (Darlene) of Dalhousie Junction; grandchildren Jo Ann Savoie, Pierrette Savoie, Denise Landry, Kelly Herron (Harley), Jamie Malley, David Malley, Nicole DeJario, Sylvia Savoie, Armond Savoie (Laura), great grandchildren Mark Olsen, Jake Olsen, Jenny DeJario, Donald DeJario, Fernando, Mathiew and Abigail; great great grandchild Frederick.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Edmond Malley.
