William Caissy
The death of William Caissy of Campbellton, occurred in Campbellton on October 20th 2003 at the age of 82.
Born in Campbellton on December 10th 1920 he was the son of the late Fabien Caissy and the late Lydia LeBlanc.
William was employed as a tour super with Frasier inc. for 47 years. He was also an altar server in his youth, very active in the boy scouts, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, U.C.T. and a veteran of WWII. His passion was his camp in Kedgwick, family and friends.
William is survived by his daughters Greta (Kevin) Gignac of Wilmot NS, Marie (Ed) Robert of Stratford P.E.I. and Maureen Caissy of Montreal; sons Mark (Lynn) of Aylmer, Quebec and Luke (Gretchen) of Campbellton, sisters Bertha Gallant of Atholville, Georgette Roy of Campbellton, Carmen Johnson of Tide Head, and Fabie LeBlanc of Balmoral; brothers Phillippe of London Ontario and Jean-Marie of Vancouver. He is also survived by his grandchildren Sarah, Daniel and Kasey Gignac; Beth, Sharon and Maria Caissy; Laura and André Robert; Alexandra and Christopher Caissy.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife Julia (Van Horne) Caissy and brothers Charles, Fred and Maurice.
Mary Winnifred Russell
Age 74 of Mount Uniacke passed away peacefully October 24, 2003 in Dartmouth General Hospital with her family by her side. Born in New Mills, N.B. she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Prescilla (Gallant) Murchie.
She is survived by her son, Allen and daughter-in-law Bonnie, Mount Uniacke; daughter Deborah Russell, Toronto; brothers, Ron Murchie, Everett, Ontario; Joe Murchie, Dartmouth; Carl Murchie, Sudbury, Ont; John Murchie, Newcastle, N.B.; sisters, Donalda Murphy, Halifax; Gloria Ritchie, Blind River, Ontario; Angela Lapointe, New Mills, N.B.
She was predeceased by her husband Stephen Belford "Rod"; brother, Ken Murchie; sister, Mary Copps.
Merlin Glenwood Lawrence
Merlin G. Lawrence of Greenhill Lake passed away Oct 20, 2003 at Zealand. Born at Zealand on September 15, 1935 he was a son of the late Cecil and Helen (Brewer) Lawrence.
He joined the staff of Campbellton Composite High School in 1958, retiring in 1991. The Campbellton Rotary Club honored him with the Paul Harris Award for community dedication and the embodiment of the spirit of Rotary. Merlin became involved in the driver education program contributing many hours of volunteer work in the high school. Merlin began his summer employment with the city of Fredericton over 45 years ago under the director of recreations, Johnnie Vey as baseball director and playground director until 2000. He completed a course to become a certified playground equipment inspector through the Canadian parks and recreation Association.
He is survived by his sister, Anita Jones (Garnet), Fredericton; two brothers, Laurel Lawrence (Ruth), Fredericton and Lyman Lawrence (Donna), Zealand; a special aunt, Muriel Estey, Zealand; four nieces and one nephew.
